Rating: Summary: Buyers Beware... Review: At first glance this TV seemed great; it had amazing clearity, clear menu screens, and awesome sound. However, there was a tilt problem which I could not correct because the screen was already at +5 (which is the maximum). It was slightly off horizontal and it clearly needed technical adjustment. The bigger issue was a geometric distortion in the upper left hand corner of the screen. It appeared bowed down a bit and made it frustrating to watch especially with text or lines (like watching the biased, liberal CNN, for instance). Anyway, I called Sony and explained the issue and they referred me to a local "authorized" repair center. So, these two guys come one day, take the TV away and I don't see it for over SIX WEEKS! Apparently, it needed a part from Tokyo. When I got the TV back, not only did it have shmutz and some scratches on it, but the picture was actually worse; the tilt was still not fixed either. This got me thinking as to whether these guys did a damn thing to this 200 pound behmouth. Well, once again, I was forced by Sony to send it back to the same store. I got the TV back a week and a half later with the tilt corrected but the picture WAS STILL DISTORTED. Folks, when you buy a $1,700.00 tv, you would excpect it to be problem free. THE WEGAS HAVE SERIOUS GEOMETRIC DISTORTION PROBLEMS!!! I have read numerous other reviews on this issue and, unfortunately, there seems to be no remedy. I would suggest that you maybe look into other brands like Panasonic, although I do own a plethora of other Sony products and I love them. The Wega series just seems to be jinxed with technical glitches that Sony representatives refuse to acknowledge or be accomadating towards. If anyone wishes more info on this tv, you may email me.
Rating: Summary: Toshiba's have the same problem Review: I got a Toshiba 32af41 and it has the same geometry distortion in the upper left corner. From what I've read almost all flat tube TVs have this problem. Buyer beware.
