Review: I've had the t.v. for about 8 months. Last night it decided to just start turning off, losing the picture and sound while it was still running. That's a problem. It comes back on for about a minute and shuts down. Needless to say that if i'm one of many seeing this problem, you would be well suited to buy a different television.

Summary: This tv has great picture quality and size for the price
Review: Ive had this tv for almost a year now. The picture is crisp and clear- its great! I havent had any major problems with it. But I do seldomly notice funny speaker noises, which from the rest of the reviews, you can tell theres something up with them speakers they put in these things. A year ago I would have said- but for the price you cant beat it- but now the price is low and I think Phillips stopped manufacturing it. Anyways, This tv is great for video games, My X-box is in love ;)

Summary: Problems with distorted speakers
Review: This is a good TV at a good price, but I have had problems with both speakers giving distorted sound. I replaced the first one a few months after purchase, and now the 2nd sounds terrible after 1 year. There is no reason these speakers should have blown. I never turn the volume very high.

The good news is that the speakers are cheap and are fairly easy to replace. The only difficulty is you need a long Torx (star) bit to unscrew the back of the TV. You might also be able to get a hex key to work. You can order the speakers from Vance Baldwin Electronics at 800-432-8542. The part number is 242226400411. My last order was $12 with freight for 1 speaker. I recommend ordering 2.

The screen is large and clear and the speakers on either side of the screen are great especially when a program offers stereo sound.

Summary: nice tv but horrible high pitched noise/ reflective screen
Review: We bought this tv after our 20 yr old one quit. We were so excited to get a new one, did lots of research, and got this one at Best Buy. Compared to the Toshiba, which I really wanted, this had superior picture quality and sound. We got the set home, set it up, and almost immediately, this high-pitched noise comes from the back of the tv, and boy is it annoying! I called the company, who, after I convinced the noise was heard at least 10 feet away, (and over shows) recommended a local tv repair shop. I am so very disappointed with this noise. The only other complaint I have about it is the mirror-like screen - you can see nearly everything reflected back from the tv monitor, so we have to turn out some lights to be able to see the picture more clearly. Great tv otherwise.
