Rating: Summary: RCA lives up to its well deserved reputation Review: Delivering high quality at a low price! This RCA Televisivion has all the bells and whistles and is worth every penny!
Rating: Summary: great 13 in. TV Review: I finally had to replace my Sony 13 in. tv for my bedroom .Based on my research from Amazon.com's reviews I went to Circuit City where the RCA had this TV on sale . Most small televisions I came across tend to be poor quality .This set is the exception.I notice the difference once it was plugged in . The picture quality was superior even compared to the larger and more expensive set .Wide range of picture adjustments for my need . The front mono speaker sounds great for it's size ...not "tinny" . The remote that came with it is the only complant that I have(small, fragile and "cushy" buttons). However my universal remote had the code for this brand so I don't need the factory remote once i set the adjustments where I want it. I know about bad reviews about reception with the antenna . I , however , had hook-uped my cable box ,PS2 , and DVD to the TV and RCA produced great picture images thru all devices.
Rating: Summary: Nice Features for small TV Review: I wanted a new tv for my room and picked up this one because of the av hookups, the brand and the price. It also looked pretty cool too. The child lock on the front should be on ALL tvs. The commerical skip buttons is cool too.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: I was looking for a 13" TV to replace a dead Magnavox 13" TV purchased in 1998. Based on reviews here and elsewhere I thought this RCA model would be the ideal solution, but I was generally disappointed, for the following reasons:
* Picture Clarity: The picture seemed quite fuzzy. It wasn't a major problem with images after some adjustments to picture quality settings, but words (sports score info, news crawls, on-screen tv guide) were hard to read.
* Picture Quality Presets: The default factory settings for the screen had the contrast set way too high. Also the color setting (the default center point) needed to be reduced to get decent color. I could get a marginally good setup by changing this in the on-screen menu although not entirely to my liking. A bigger problem was the button on the remote labeled "presets" which put the settings back to the factory default. I can't figure out why you'd need that on the remote (where it's easy to accidentally hit) since there is a reset command in the on-screen menu. Didn't see a way you could make your own presets either (though I didn't look hard.)
* Sleep function: A minor disappointment, but I sometimes like to use this to fall asleep by. On this model the shortest sleep time is 30 minutes with 30 minute increments. My previous TV allowed a minium of 15 minutes with 15 minute increments which fit my habits better.
* Limited settings features: I guess I got used to the features of my old Magnavox including "Smart Picture" (multiple presets based on type of program - and it actually worked) and "Smart Sound" (attempts to avoid letting the commercials shout). The RCA seemed pretty feature-less by comparison.
In the end I returned the RCA. My next TV will probably be a Magnavox based on my previous experience and the features they incorporate. Also I plan to spend more time in the store where I can hopefully see the sets in action. Sadly this is a purchase that may not be best done (or at least solely done) on-line.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Product Review: This television has amazing image quality for a 13 inch television. I've ran DVD's, videotapes, video games, cameras, and everything else imaginable through it and they all show up with excellent color and quality. Sometimes it seems that the volume fluctuates (how loud a certain spot on the volume bar is seems to change) but I'm guessing that's just my cable provider. Overall, a great value at under $100.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Product Review: This TV has the best value out of all the TVs I have Looked at. I have had this TV for almost 5 months and have never had a problem. Has a very sharp picture and good sound. The menu is very easy to use and has easy to use color adjustments. If you need a small TV buy this one!
