Rating: Summary: Poor contrast Review: Although I appreciate excellent sound and sharpness of the picture, I can't live with the poor color contrast on this screen. I fiddled with the adjustments, as advised by other reviewers, but to no avail. The dark colors look like amorphous blobs, and the contrasting areas have an unpleasant glow. There's no contrast control. I really wanted to love this TV, but it's going back to the store.
Rating: Summary: Cannot be faulted anywhere Review: Being on a bit of a budget, we couldnt really afford more than $400 for a tv, our first choice was a 31 inch sanyo set on sale at walmart, some people giving it a decent review, having watched an evening of it, we decided the picture was really sub-par. Forinstance on well lit areas such as outdoor scenes, everything but the light areas were so dark you couldnt see them, a major problem when it came to faces and other areas where detail really mattered. So we did a bit of research and found 3 tvs of a 27in flat screen, and similar spec.Ie comb filters, etc We decided on the panasonic, and wow am I impressed!! I have a degree in electronic servicing I have never had a NORMAL tv connected to my PC that I can actually read the text on clearly!! the picture is sharp, has multiple settings for the best settings to what you desire, the sound is amazing. If you have a dvd input to the set, its a truly amazing experience for a crt tv, thats not even hdtv! We paid #359 and its the best $359 we have ever spent on a tv. My dad had a panasonic set for 16 years, its still going, albiet with a bit of colour distortion. Im from england so I can definately say Panasonic are worldwide when it comes to quality, and to say they are keeping with the current trend of high quality vision, would be an understatement. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended!!! noone who buys should be disappointed!
Rating: Summary: Great picture and even better sound Review: I am really happy with this TV. The picture is clear and the colors are very full. The different settings you can choose from, depending on the lighting in the room, are great. Menu navigation is easy. The remote is perfect. The sound from the speakers are a great. Very full sound. I always thought Sony made the best TV's, but after having this in my apartment for 2 weeks, my mind has changed.
Rating: Summary: Don't be put off by the default picture settings! Review: I bought this set at my local Circuit City store. I've had this set since last August. I've had no problems at all with it. The picture is phenomenal and so is the sound. We looked at a Sony set and it was much higher priced. You're paying for the name. Buy this Panasonic TV. You won't be disappointed!!

Rating: Summary: Great Picture, Sound and Value Review: I do not normally giving "glowing reviews", but this product is fantastic. The picture is clear and sharp. There is no distortion as there is with some televisions of this size. I compared the picture quality to the Sony (which is more expensive) and it compares favorably. The only thing I did not like was the "default" picture settings, but I changed the color scheme, which is easily done in the menu, to suit my tastes better. The sound is also outstanding. Far better than any other televion in this class, in my opinion. The remote is very well designed and easy to use, although they do claim that it is a "lighted" remote. The only buttons that are lighted are the "TV", "DVD" button, etc. The TV also has an outstanding array of inputs. You will have no trouble hooking up your DVD, VCR, satellite, game system and stereo. In short, I believe this is the best television you can get in this price range.

Rating: Summary: Picture Too Dark Review: I purchased this TV cause it was cheaper then the Sony Wega and seemed to have just as many features. I had high hopes for it, but I ended up returning it just a few hours after I got home with it. The picture was just way too dark! Even when the Picture and Brightness settings are turned all the way up, the picture is dark. This makes darker colors look black, and makes it impossible to see any details in shadows. I messed with all the settings, nothing would make it brighter. If not for this problem, this TV could have ranked right up there with the Sony Wega. Too bad.
Rating: Summary: Don't be put off by the default picture settings! Review: I really like this tv. However, my first impressions were not good because of the following 3 things: 1) It was a lot bigger than I expected (i.e. a lot more tv around the actual picture, which was different than I was used to), because I wasn't used to tv speakers on the sides of the picture - but it makes for great sound quality. 2) I totally agree with the previous reviewer who commented on the default picture settings. At first, I was TOTALLY put off by the picture quality -- orange faces, ridiculously over-saturated colors and complete lack of details in the shadows (a black sweater looked like a definition-less blob of black). And the picture settings were not intuitive (it took literally hours and some elaborate combinations of settings to get what I thought was a normal picture). But now the picture looks great! So don't be discouraged by the bizarre picture and perservere with the settings - and then you'll love it! 3) The negative part about buying this item from Amazon was the shipper. They were not used to the setup service that Amazon offers (since you can't return it once you've signed for it, they are supposed to unpack it for you). So there was a lot of back-and-forth on the phone with the shipper and Amazon customer service before it was delivered, and then the shipper sent 1 man with this huge 90 lb television and didn't tell him he had to unpack it and set it up. For the $69 shipping fee, I would've hoped the shipping/setup would've gone more smoothly. Now that these three things have been resolved, I'm really loving the tv!
Rating: Summary: A solid Panasonic product Review: I've had this TV for about 10 days now, so I can make some informed comments now. I purchased this as a replacement for an 12-year old, but still trusty, Panasonic 21-inch television. The first thing that jumped out at me was the sound quality, which is nothing short of superb. It sounds at times as if it's hooked up to stereo system speakers, but it's just the built-in speakers producing the outstanding sound.I would rate the picture as good--not terrific, but certainly competitive with similar rival products. One note, however: I had to make significant adjustments to the factory settings to get a good picture. The first problem I encountered was dark scenes that were too dark, with much detail missing. One culprit was "Pic Mode," which was preset to "vivid." I changed this setting to "standard" and, right away, things improved. I also uppped the brightness and decreased the sharpness. Suddenly the too-dark problems were gone. In addition, I don't know why TVs often come set so that Caucasian people look as if they have an extreme case of rosacea. No one looks like that in real life--unless they really do have a bad case of rosacea with its attendant red cheeks and nose! One of the things I found I had to do was to increase the tint setting, which decreases the red flesh tones. One disappointment for me was that my old Panasonic had a slightly better picture than this one, but this 27-inch flat screen picture is still very good. All in all, this is a good product.
