Rating: Summary: Excellent TV!!! Review: 2 days ago my 8 year old Magnavox finally gave up. I had been having trouble with an on again/off again green spot for some time, but have been dealing with it. When it really crapped out 2 days ago, I finally decided it was time to get a new one.I had investigated Toshiba TV's in the past and read rave reviews. Unfortunately we couldn't get a flat screen, because they all had side speakers, and we weren't prepared to get a new entertainment center to fit a larger TV. So we found this one, and WOW what a great picture. We spent the whole rest of the weekend watching movies and commenting on how great the picture was. We also have a Toshiba DVD player so we are able to take advantage of the ColorStream and it's fantastic. This TV was WELL worth the money, we were shocked at the quality we got for such a relatively small price.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME T.V. IN EVERY RESPECT!!! Review: Actually, I cannot really elaborate any further on the rave reviews that this product has already received, except to express my extreme satisfaction with this purchase and to VERY HIGHLY recommend this superb television to those interested in acquiring what is definitely one of the best sets I've ever come across for such a "steal" of a price. Whether it is to be your primary or secondary televison set, grab one while they are still available!
Rating: Summary: Great TV at a great price! Review: Bought this to replace my aging 15 year-old 26" NEC in my den. Didn't want a set with enhanced side speakers since an external receiver/sound system works 100x better. Was first interested in flat screen models; however, this Toshiba's screen is nearly flat, especially when compared to other brands with standard screens. In fact, the image looks better than some flat screens (not talking about flat panels - have a 20" one in the bedroom and it is awesome), which seem to have a concave image. Also, the flat screen TVs have larger overall dimensions. Picture is excellent and the component in works great with my DVD player. Front video is excellent with my Dreamcast. Audio out is connected to my receiver - not all brand models have an audio out. Bought at Best Buy for only $230 - not sure why some people have a beef with something they bought at Best Buy - they don't make the products. Anyway, well worth the money; especially when I had paid $600 for the NEC.

Rating: Summary: Excellent TV!!! Review: HEH HEH, NOT TO SAY THAT TARGET IS BETTER, but you are not the only buyer who has had bad experiences with Best Buy merchandise. This tv was purchased at Target 2 months ago by me. NO PROBLEMS. EASY SETUP. WORKS LIKE ALL MODERN TVS. GREAT PICTURE WITH LOUSY CABLE. YOU CAN HEAR THE SURROUND SOUND. ORDERED ONLINE WITH TARGET AND THEY LOCATED ONE IN A LOCAL STORE. BOUGHT IT THAT DAY. RESEARCHED ONLINE TO FIND A GOOD SET FOR THE MONEY. HDTV IS COMING SO WHY SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON AN ANALOG TV?
Rating: Summary: Be very careful of defects!!! Review: I bought this TV from Best Buy back in June, and have had problems ever since. The 1st one I bought had a defective picture tube (left side of screen was green). I took that one back and got another. Everything seemed fine until I watched a letterbox movie, and noticed the piture looked crocked. It was too late to take it back to Best Buy, and when I called Toshiba, they were very unsympathetic or helpful...all I got was the name of a service center. The "recommended" service center came out to fix the problem...but in fact did nothing, the picture still looks crocked. I am now realizing the picture is not crocked, but in fact compressed on one side. It seems to me Toshiba got a bad batch of picture tubes! I would hope I just got stuck with 2 rare examples, but somehow I doubt it...and the fact that Toshiba was so unhelpful is not very reasuring!
Rating: Summary: Piece of s**t from the con artists at Best Buy Review: I got this EXACT TV from Best Buy in Lancaster, Ohio. It worked perfectly for 3 months and all of a sudden, the speakers go kaput when no signal is available. Hooking up my Logitech Z-640s, I get sound, which would be static. I took it back, fought with them and waited for half an hour to get them to send it out to get it fixed. I got it back today and the problem is STILL there, in addition to a messed up picture tube (red/blue/green splotch on the left side around the middle) and hesitation when turning on, as well as trying to power on when unplugged. I gave the manager on duty a call and he said all they could do was send it out again, no refund to even exchange. Tomorrow, I'll be getting my store (Kmart in Lancaster) manager's opinion about this matter to see what he would do in this situation.
Rating: Summary: Great TV, Better than all expectations! Review: My old 27" JVC gave out after several years (was a 2nd TV and not used all that much) and I was forced to do some research. I kept hearing the name Toshiba... So I thought I would try it (Sony was out of my price range). I've had it for 4 months now and couldn't be happier! I am in a rural area, using an antena and still get very sharp pictures. As an example how good the picture is: each year during the holidays I have the same group over and we watch an old video that we all enjoy. After the video was over several people mentioned how vivid the colors were and how sharp the picture was compared to other years! I have recently attached a VCR/DVD player to this TV and the picture is awsume! This TV is now my main TV and I plan on very soon buying a 32" Toshiba for a second TV. Enough said, in closing, I think it's a great buy!
Rating: Summary: Great set Review: picture from DVD on component input is excellent; cable picture (from coax) is very good; good brightness, contrast, and color levels; sound from the built-in speakers is better than I thought it would be; on-screen menu is easy to use and has plenty of features, including volume-leveling; the width of this set makes it a better choice for many "tight" installations than most 24" sets; although this is not a flat-screen set, its tube is flatter than most regular sets. I've only had this set for a week, but am very pleased so far.
Rating: Summary: SUPER Awesome TV! Almost like a FLAT screen! Review: WoW is the word to describe this awesome piece of machine and technology. After 14 years of happy performance from my Sony 27" Trintron it finally started dying. It started showing white horizontal bars and color/hue turned green and everything got worse by the day for the last 2 weeks. So A new bedroom TV set was needed, especially that I watch lots of DVDs and PS2 games. My budget was strictly $250. Quality was important, Sony is of course the best but the most expensive, but Toshiba is known for the reliability. Other brand I considered are JVC, Panasonic and Philips. I wanted a quality 20" flat screen tv. They all looked very impressive and ultra clear at the stores, particular the Sony models, but they're too expensive. Then I looked at some traditional tv, they were really 'BALLISH', the picture tube was very UN-FLAT and I was repelled by it, much more BALLISH than my 14 year old Sony! Then my friend told me not to buy 20" inch flat tv because its too small, he adviced me to look buy 27" traditional tv with the same money and told me to get a nice 'flat' traditional tv. However, all the traditional tvs I seen are BALLISH until I saw this piece of awesome machine at another store. I immediatly knew this is the tv for me. The screen is UNBELIEVEABLE flat, you got to seen to believe. Other quality brands such as JVC, Panasonic, Philips all have fat man's gut 'BALL' screens. This Toshiba is so unreal, almost like a flat screen! The outermost part of the screen which is the middle and the innermost part of the screen which is the corners, the distance between the two parallel planes is about 3-4 millimeters or 1/8 inch!!! WOW! Much closer to a flat screen than traditional! I like the design too. The speakers on the bottom is better! The viewing area is much less obtrusive and clean, more like a monitor. The picture quality is super. Bright, colorful, and vivid. The default brightness is very bright already. The white is very pure and white and the black is very black or dark. The only spec I can't find is the horizontal lines. Other brands usually sport 600 lines. The detail is very impressive which lead me to believe that its around 600 or 800, hopefully Im right.. This tv is loaded with features, everything you can imagine is there. The parental control features is very very nice but I won't be using it though. You can even set video game 'time', haha I feel bad for the poor kids. The stereo speakers are pretty damn good! Although only 2.5 watts per speakers but when I turned up the volume to max, there's no distortion, no rumble, no tv case shaking, nothing! Just pure sound. You can adjust the bass and treble too which similar models of other brands dont have. ALL brands except Sony all sound like they gonna explode at the half way mark. The speakers are so good that you don't have to crank it up to hear things! On low volume setting, you can still hear everything. The surround sound actually works, I was surprised by it. In a small room, you can actually hear sounds behind you! But you can always hook this tv to a stereo system. This tv also have S-video hookup which lots of other tv in the same price range don't have! The colorstream component video inputs is nice. Everything and all functions perform beautifully and since this is Toshiba I expect it to work like brand new for 10 years. Overall this Toshiba 27A33 27" TV is the BEST for the price. Im really happy that I got this 27" tv instead of a 20" flat screen. This TV is just like a flat screen! Highly insisted recommend. Thank you Toshiba!
