Description:

Zenith's B27A74R console television set offers a 27-inch screen, stereo speakers, and a host of image-improving technologies, from comb filtering to color-temperature control and black-level expansion. The set's comb filter electronically preserves the original image sharpness through controlled separation of the video signal's chrominance (color information) and luminance (picture detail information). The resultant picture can provide up to 330 lines of resolution when provided with a RF source. With an unmodulated audio-video input (such as that from a DVD player, camcorder, or VCR's component-video output), picture resolutions of higher than 500 lines can be achieved.

Black-level expansion/white-level compression automatically adjusts the contrast ratio between black and white levels to produce blacker blacks, whiter whites, and extraordinarily sharp edges with no loss of picture detail or subtle shading (on NTSC signals only). And, using the universal remote control, you can select either "warm" or "cool" presets to control the ambiance of the picture. A feature called SEQ Front Surround electronically expands the listening field, making the stereo speakers seem even further separated. Through SEQ, audio sounds more three-dimensional, with increased clarity. SEQ simulates the surround experience by adding dramatic impact to stereo programs without the use of additional surround-sound speakers.

This set offers stereo multichannel television sound (MTS), which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals. The set's MTS decoder also offers second audio programming (or SAP), an additional channel usually used for an alternate-language track. V-chip parental control is a programmable feature that uses the U.S. standard content-advisory system to restrict viewing of specific programs or program types. Auto programming automatically locks all active stations into channel scan.
