Summary: think again
Review: I bought a 32" Wega about six months ago and am not sure I'd do it again. The image quality is bright and sharp, and the flatness of the screen is a boon. But the set has two annoying quirks. The first is that the image goes a little wavy when the camera pans horizontally. It's as though the image is being projected onto a flag in the wind. I'm exaggerating, but even so it's still borderline unacceptable.

The other quirk is the sound quality, which is peculiar. I suspect it's been optimized for special-effects-heavy movies. Effects and music scores are loud and clear. But the dynamic range seems to to be too great. When you've got the volume adjusted so the music and explosions and climaxes are bearable, you can barely hear the actors say the dialog. When you crank it up high enough to hear the actors well, the explosions and music climaxes deafen.

I sent one Wega back, but the replacement had the same glitches. I decided to keep it and live with the annoyances -- the picture quality really is great most of the time, and, besides, shipping it back would have been a pain. But if I were to do it again I'd buy, for the same price as a 32" Wega, a conventional Sony or Panasonic or Toshiba 36" set.

Summary: So its not my hearing--
Review: I love the flat screen Wega picture and have watched several dvds in the last few days. Excellent picture, but I was constantly adjusting the sound--up to hear quiet dialogue then down when music or other non-dialogue audio came on so as not to be deafened. After reading the reviewer from Sedona I can agree whole-heartedly and thank the person for helping me realize that it is probably the set's audio system and not my hearing. I have had two Sony Wegas and they are the same. Alas,it is not a perfect world.

Summary: Oh Man!
Review: I love this TV. I recieved it as a Christmas gift and it is awesome. I don't have any problems with the sound as I have the sound run through my stereo surround system (Harmon Kardon). The picture is outstanding and I do not have the wave effect that some people have been experiancing. I had to return my first one because of damage during shipping, but it was worth the wait. Everyone is amazed at the picture quality. The menu is user friendly, it auto programs very fast, and it has enough video hookups to allow you to attach just about anything you want to . My only gripe with it is that it is ridiculously heavy and long (please measure the depth of the shelf you want to place it on). Overall, this is a great buy for the price.

Summary: i think you might get sea sick
Review: i must say, the quality of the picture is awful. The picture wavers, like on the movie channals that you don't recive. The picture "wavers" about every 10 seconds, like a wave on the beach. It's so agrivating to watch TV on this thing. A must-not buy. terrible sound, too--i am not exagerating. On some shows, it almost sounds like your listening to the broadcasts from outer pace. The sound accually wavers. on some moments, it's almost decent, and at some, it's really bad. what a waste

Summary: Superb TV with excellent video and audio quality!
Review: I recently purchased this TV, and am extremely pleased with its performance. I used an S-Video cable to connect the 32" WEGA to my satellite system, and the picture quality is MANY times better than it was on my previous tv set. The color definition on this set is outstanding, and the audio is far better than the stock speakers contained in most TV's.

If you are a videophile/audiophile, but don't have room for a giant-screen, I highly recommend that you purchase the Sony WEGA. The flat-screen is superb, and eliminates much glare. The picture quality is excellent, almost HDTV-quality, but costs much less than HDTV sets. You will be very pleased with this TV!

Summary: It dose the best it can.
Review: I'm pleesed with this tv, because my previous down stairs unit had purple lines going accross it, and a very un sharp picture (I think you should know, it was a proscan.) But I'd like to clear something up, the sony trinitron wega still has a large, (but unseeable from a distance) amount of dot crawl. When I heard about this thing called a digital comb filter, I talked to a guy in sears and asked him if it was a joke like the simulated surround sound. He said no, but try as hard as you can, you cant get rid of dot crawl on an anolog tv without HDTV, and that the digital conb filter only helps to minize dot crawl. To be quite honest, I dont see any differance in the picture of this tv and my upstairs unit which is a sony but not a flat screen. So anyway, my advice to you is if you absolutly can't stand dot crawl get HDTV but if you just want the best anolog tv on the market today, get a trinitron waga.

Summary: Perfect for DVD afficionados and channel surfers, alike.
Review: My husband and I are not heavy TV watchers, but we watch a favorite show or two and lots of DVD movies (Netflix, anyone?)
Our Sony Wega 32" TV was one of our first purchases after moving into a new home, and it was an easy choice. We have a large room with a very high ceiling where we watch our Wega (with Bose Surround Sound speakers), and suffice it to say our place is THE place the family comes to watch new releases or favorite movies.

I have no complaints about the Wega. The unit is classy, the performance is unequalled to any other TV I've ever owned or watched, the picture is walk-into-the-scene sharp and the price was right.

Summary: I love this TV
Review: When it was time to purchase a new TV, I shopped around with the intent of getting something in the 32-35" range. I knew about Vega's, but thought they would be too expensive. However, once I saw this model I was hooked. The price was a bit higher than other models, but the picture quality was just incredible. The flat screen and rich color quality made other models look "conventional".

There are several other features on this TV that make it worth the extra money: - It offers a 16x9 enhanced mode that make DVD watching incredible. There is a very noticeable difference between watching DVDs with this feature and on a standard TV. - The "fake" surround sound is actually pretty good. I haven't picked up a true surround sound system and was pleased to find this TV manages to fake it quite well with just 2 speakers. It's really good enough for watching most movies. The only thing missing is deep bass.

So, in case you couldn't tell, I've been thrilled with this TV. For what you get the price is reasonable (especially if you can live without picture-in-picture, which this model doesn't have) If you're looking into this model (or any of the other Vega's for that matter) I would also recommend checking out the matching stands. They fit the TV perfectly and match the silver/grey color of the unit.
