Summary: BEWARE!
Review: AV channels appear with verticle grey bars on many of these sets. This means when you watch DVDs you will see grey bars appear over the picture. This is an ongoing problem it seems with Philips larger sets. I was told by the Philips repair person that this has something to do with the power source not being shielded well enough on quite a few of there sets, though not enough to demand a recall(?!) Have been dealing with Philips for weeks now trying to get this sorted out, with much difficulty. Otherwise picture and sound has been fine on other channels. If you have or may have in the future any interest in watching DVDs on your tv, go with another brand.

Summary: We're happy!
Review: Good TV with great features. This TV was rated highly by Consumer Reports and rightfully so. We're very happy with the sound, picture, and the ease of use of the features. I think you'll be happy with your purchase too, and with the fact that the delivery guys bring it into the house and upack it...it's huge!

Summary: great deal
Review: Great deal, good value for the money. Good picture quality raves that of a sony Trinitron.

Sound quality/ volume could be better but nothing a home theater sound system couldn't fix. Good appearance easy to opperate controls. Best deal for your money and it's 32 in.

Summary: Best thing ever.
Review: I was use to just a paultry 19 inches for videogames and dvd. Unacceptable by any means. All I can say is wow after purchasing this. Videogames look great, dreamcast is crisp, you'll have to sit back in order to view the jaggies on ps. DVD's are great, no vertical bars here. All around great value, I am satisfied.

Summary: For the $ a very good TV with a very good picture and sound.
Review: Impressive and sharp. I bought this model because of the past reviews on Philips Magnavox by 'Consumer Report' and for the money this is a great 32" TV. I did not want to spend another $300 plus for great sound so I sought out a television that included all the bells and whistles that this TV has (Surround(tm), SmartSound Plus(tm), dbx(r) hi-fi stereo sound system, bass/treble boost etc.). The sound is as good as a television gets. It is especially noticeable when playing DVDs. The glass flat square picture tube with `SmartPicture' is top quality for this price range. The down side of Magnavox is the paltry 3 month labor warranty, however they do have a excellent track record for quality and 'CR' rates them in the top three for reliability. Overall a very good set with a very good picture and very good to excellent sound.

Summary: [Too much] for a TV that lasted 15 whole months!
Review: We bought this TV January 27, 2001, and have had it for 15 months now (April 5, 2002), the TV was great up until tonight when the picture tube blew! Doesn't make much sense to spend [this kind of money] on a TV that doesn't last. More than likely will never buy another Philips Magnavox product. Stick to a decent brand name (Sony, Panasonic). The waarranty is pathetic 90 dayd free labor, one year free replacement parts, and 2 years on the picture tube, the only problem is getting ahold of anyone on the help lines.
