Description:
Sharp's massive, 32-inch 32U-F510 flat-tube television boasts a high-style cabinet, increased viewing angles and dramatically reduced glare over standard tube sets, and precise picture quality. The set's high-focus, dark-tint picture tube improves color reproduction and contrast, while its three-line comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). Contrast Enhancer is Sharp's proprietary circuitry that further enhances black level and dark screen details. VMS (velocity modulation scanning) improves definition at picture edges, creating sharper images by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work--say, when rendering transitions from light to dark parts of an image--and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas. Front and dual rear audio-video inputs (including S-video and premium component-video inputs) simplify connection with other audio-video equipment. Five watts per channel power the set's own speakers, and variable audio outputs let you enjoy the sound through a stereo's speakers while controlling the volume from the remote. Channel labeling customizes the channel display, while Personal Preference let's you configure the remote with favorite channels for customized surfing. EZ Setup automatically sets TV channels to receive standard cable broadcasts. The set automatically displays closed-captioned information (if available) when the mute button is pressed. TV rating blocking technology (V-chip) allows users to control programming and prevent children from viewing mature content. A view timer feature lets you monitor your child's viewing duration by restricting TV time to 30-minute intervals. A Universal Plus remote (with DVD control) features glow-in-the-dark buttons that make it easy to use, even in dimly lit rooms.
