Rating: Summary: Amazing TV!!!!!!!!! Review: I also usually buy from sony, and I was planning on purchasing the Sony 20" WEGA TV, but when I went to a store and they had the Toshiba 20" Flat screen compared to the sony flat screen, the picture on the toshiba was much more crisp and clear than the sony one. If you doubt what i am saying, go to someplace like Best Buy and check the two out side by side. I am extremely happy that i went against my normal sony shopping and bought this Toshiba tv.
Rating: Summary: I love this TV!!! Great price and Video Quality!!! Review: I bought this tv for my room. First of all this product is ALMOST flawless!!! I love the flat screen and I don't think that I will ever be able to go back to the domed screens. The video quality is excellent, expecially when you use the component AV inputs. This tv has so many inputs that you would never need more. I actually was looking at the Sony 20" flat screen tv, but it is 50 dollars more, and does not have component!!! What a waste of money!! The speakers are excellent. The only reason why i gave this a 4 instead of a 5, is because when you turn on the tv, there is a slight high pitched humming sound. It can get very annoying when you first set it up, but after a month, you get used to it. For the price i paid, i would not pass it up. Especially for the price they are offering it now.
Rating: Summary: The "Biggest Little TV" You'll Ever Get Review: I have had this TV for a little over a year now, and without question, it is an exquisite box. I had an older 20" RCA that only had a coax input, and I wanted to upgrade to a new set that had a lot of features. However, I have limited space. This TV has all of the "big screen" features you need in a 20" tube. THREE composite inputs, S-video input, and component input.Immediately upon turning the set on, you can see a distinct difference in color richness while watching regular cable TV. But the real winning number of this unit are the inputs. Watching a DVD, even with one of the composite inputs, was INCREDIBLY clear. I was stunned. Using S-video is even better than that. I have my Nintendo GameCube connected to the unit using the component input, and games never looked better either. The on-screen menu system (and how it interacts with the remote) is a bit complex, but fortunately most people won't be fiddling with those very much. This should not be considered a deterrant. The remote itself is a bulky universal remote for TV/VCR/Cable. The buttons on the upper half glow in the dark, however that is essentially useless because the dark the numbers still can't be read in the dark (the numbers on the buttons should have been glow in the dark, not the buttons themselves.) But overall, the remote is a sturdy, quality piece. Far too many quality TV sets, even big screens, are bundled with cheap, bare-featured remotes. This is not one of them. This Toshiba is getting 5 stars because it is the "biggest little TV" you could ever get. Shop around for the best price, as prices seem to be fluxuating greatly.
Rating: Summary: Super picture and no geometry problems like the 27af41 Review: I have two of these, one in the master bedroom and one in the guest bedroom. Excellent! I have a Toshiba SD1700 DVD player connected and it looks fantastic. This TV has component video inputs so MAKE SURE your DVD player has outputs to match. Other inputs exists too, I have my Sony Playstation hooked up via Svideo and that looks great too. If you want to know about the geometry problems on the 27af41, just read the reviews, this model does NOT have the problem.
Rating: Summary: Not Bad Review: I just bought this television at Best Buy and I was impressed with the quality of the picture. The sound was what was bothering me so I'm taking it back. It sounded loud at the store, but when I got it home, I had to turn it up almost half way to get any volume out of it. Then, when you do that, it sounds really bad. Maybe if this T.V. was a little cheaper it wouldn't bother me as bad. I think its worth more like 225.00-250.00. Not 300.00. I thought there was going to be such a dramatic difference between flat screen and regular direct-view. There is a little, but not so much that its worth an extra 100.00. In all, the picture is fantastic, but if sound quality is a must for you, this is lacking that certain something.
Rating: Summary: several minor flaws, still a great value Review: I might as well share why I got this TV. I bought an X-Box, and started getting into DVDs (yes, that late). I had a basic 27" RCA with no A/V inputs, and I wanted to spend about $300 on a TV with ports because a TV worth that much would be small enough to take to college later. I stumbled upon this 20" flat-screen Toshiba, which attracted me because of the features and picture quality. Before I rave about how great this TV is, I'd like to go over the flaws it has, most of which lie in the remote control, not with the TV itself. First, the numbers are positioned at the top instead of at the bottom. This means you'll have most of the remote hanging out of your hand, and holding the remote probably won't be very comfortable. Second, there are VCR buttons on the remote. What boggles me is the logic. Why put VCR buttons on a remote whose TV doesn't come with a VCR? This only adds extra weight and takes up space. Third, and most important, the channel up/down buttons and the number pads sometimes do not work. Sometimes the power button does not work either. At a random moment, the remote works like normal again. All in all, I'm going to get a better remote the first chance I get. A non-remote control flaw is the TV's lack of a clock or schedule timer. I can no longer use my TV to wake me up. More importantly, I can not tell the time just by pushing recall. It's back to the noisy alarm clock for me. Now, on to the TV. Despite the horrendous remote control, the TV does what it does and then some very well. I play DVDs and games on my X-Box, and the TV displays the colors brilliantly and clearly. It is like watching a masterpiece in motion. Seriously, the picture is that good. Furthermore, the sound is exquisite. My words can not possibly convey the crisp sound and video quality, but I hope you get the gist. The TV also comes with a boatload of ports. For gamers, there are A/V and headphone ports in the front of the TV for convenience. Also, there is no door to cover the ports--we all know those doors break easily. Toshiba realized that, and didn't include a door to clutter the design and become a nuisance. In addition, there are even more ports in the back for other devices. This TV will last anyone a long time with its expandibility. In short, this TV does what it is supposed to do--display pictures and sound well. However, there are so many flaws that hinder the over all entertainment experience. Don't expect the cream of the crop with this TV. This is a great TV to lug along to college, play video games on, or use for average viewing. What do you expect from a $300 TV in a world of $1000 TVs? At any rate, once you get past the irritating remote and lack of a clock, you will see that you still are getting more than what you paid for. Buy this TV, but don't celebrate--save that for the wide-screen.
Rating: Summary: Good TV at the right price Review: I needed a new bedroom TV and have wanted a flat tube for a while. With only room for a 20" my choices were limited. There were offerings from Sony (WEGA), Sylvania, Panasonic and Toshiba. I think Philips also makes one but I could not find a model in a store to view. I went to a few local electronics stores to look at picture quality and hear the sound. I decided the Toshiba was the right one. Picture quality was, IMHO, better than the Sony and Sylvania sets. Plus the Toshiba has S-Video and Component Video inputs. Sony wants an additional $80 for S-video and additional $... for composite!!! The Panasonic picture was pretty good, but it was $... more and has no component video (although it has 2 S-video). Be advised that the S-Video and Component Video inputs share the audio inputs with the AV inputs. The set really has 3 available inputs, not 5 as the Toshiba info would have you believe. Also as mentioned in another review the remote isn't the greatest, but it works and I am getting used to it. I think it's more a matter of leaving my old remote behind. I have this TV hooked up to my PS2 via a Monster S-Video cable and it blows away the picture on other friends standard tube TV's connected via AV inputs. DVD quality using the PS2 is also excellent. The price is excellent for the quality picture and 3 different connection types you get. The amazon price of $... is comparable to the lowest price I have seen in retail stores (with the exception of a sale).

Rating: Summary: Best $300 and 20 inch television available. Review: I own a Sony Wega KV-27FS13 and am extremely happy with it. I needed a smaller version of this for my girlfriend's bedroom. I was convinced to purchase the 20 inch version but was disappointed by Sony's lack of any quality connectors? No S-Video or Component? The Toshiba right next to it in the store, had the flat screen, 3 Line Digital Filter, S-Video, and Component connectors! Same price, equal quality, and better connector options! I bought the Toshiba 20AF41 and have been more than pleased. S-Video performance from a Monster S-Video 3 cable connected to DSS is outstanding! Colors are very bright and dynamic. Picture is very clear with microscopic pixellation. Color Stream performance with the aid of a Monster Component 3 cable connected to the Toshiba SD-1700 dvd player could rival HDTV viewing. There are no arguments over tv viewing. I love going to her room to watch DSS and DVDs!! I love numerical adjustments for the various menu options as opposed to Sony. BBE sound option brightened higher frequencies. I can't imagine a better 20 inch television for [the price]? Make quality connections with S-Video to DSS and you will be very happy. Don't go cheap on S-Video cables. They make a difference. That includes Component cables also. Your picture quality is only as good as your connecting cables. My only quibble is I wish there were temperature adjustments like my 27 inch Sony. A front S-Video input would be very cool also. An excellent buy!
Rating: Summary: Great TV Review: I searched for hours to find this perfect tv. I wanted one that was flat screen and 20". This tv had way better picture than the sony wega and sylania thats why I chose this one. The sound is great-make sure on your menu you change the sound to BBE because that makes the sound even better! The menu has many options and compared to my 27" tv this has more channels to store for favorite channels-which is very useful for me. This is the best tv I have ever had.
