Rating: Summary: Horrible Geometry, so so sound, OSD quirks Review: ... The geometry is even worse on this. Hooking up my laptop through S Video produces a very uneven right edge and the left edge has pincushion. The left edge doesn't is about 1 cm away from the edge. The top and bottom edges also have pincushion. The same source produces perfect geometry on a friends Sony kv 27v42. Hooking up a VCR produces a little better picture, the the pincushion on the top and bottom edges is visible, more so than on Panasonic. The picture is also not as black as Panasonic. The sound is so, so. Playing around with geometry adjustments in service menu doesn't correct the problem,...Another quip is the OSD menus. First, there is no button on the set itself to access the OSD menus. Another thing is to go from one item to the next, you have to exit from the menu and then again go deep in the menu. ... Rating: Summary: Very good TV at a bargain price. Review: This 27" Toshiba is a very good TV set at an unbelievably low price for this level of quality and performance. Toshiba consistently makes excellent TV sets across their whole model line -- on a par with Sony but less expensive. One reason the picture on this set is so good is that it has a 3 line digital comb filter. A digital comb filter is essential for really good picture quality and a 3 line one is better still. All top performing sets have 3 line digital comb filters, but few sets in this price range have one. Yes, the picture tube on this set is "only" 27", while sets 50" or larger are now available. But do you really have a room large enough to do justice to a TV larger than 27"? Most people find that a good 27" TV is quite large enough for their TV viewing room. And, if you are one of the lucky few who have a very large room which could really benefit from a larger set, this set would serve nicely as a second set with an excellent picture at a bargain price.
