Summary: Excellent Buy !!!
Review: I bought this TV brand new from a local store and have used it for about 2 weeks now and it is just great! I have not had any problems with using PlayStation 2 on the side AV input. In fact the sound is great too! The picture is crisp and clear and this TV has great looks as well as quality. I am very happy with this buy!

Summary: not on trouble shooter list
Review: I own a philips 27 inch television, model 27ps55ss, one day a few weeks ago while surfing with the remote the channel froze on screen and there was no sound. Nothing I did to change the situation helped. I changed the batteries, but nothing, I couldn't turn off the tv using the remote. I even was forced to get up out of my chair and tried to turn off the tv manually. Still nothing worked, until I pulled the cord from the wall and started all over again. It worked fine for a few hours then the same problem happened again. I called philips 800 number and no one there ever heard of such a problem(lucky me). THANK GOD FOR COSTCO, NO QUESTIONS ASKED THEY REFUNDED MY MONEY AND I PURCHASED AGAIN THE SAME MODEL.(2 days later) so far so good. RAUL

Summary: Utter Junk
Review: I went to the local retail store the other day and bought this TV. It was relatively cheap for a 25 inch TV, had good sound...all seemed well. I got home, plugged it in, and decided to test out how my Playstation would work on it. The input channel is full of what would appear to be interference, but i now know better: this was not just a symptom of my TV. The one in the store had the same problem, and other reviewers have also listed this as a complaint. I returned this TV and gave it another chance - the input channel was OK, at first. However, about 5 minutes into a game the video became dirty again. I'm going to have to return this TV a SECOND time, and I can assure you I will be getting a different TV, from a different brand. I urge everyone to stay away from this TV.

Summary: Response
Review: In response to "A Guest from Cinncinati, Ohio" - if you knew anything about sound and the way it should be modified, then you would also know that "base" is spelled B-A-S-S.

Summary: Bad audio system
Review: It's good looking. We bought it because of its style. It also has good picture, and good sound when its audio system is normal. However, serveral day after we bought it, the sound system began to make noise once in a while, and when it's making noise, what we can hear is just noise. The noise can be from any channel.
Forgot to mention, this is 2nd Philips 25PS40S we have had. We are going to return it for the same reason as we did for the 1st one: the noise.

Summary: Good everything... but sound
Review: The tv looks great, good picture, easy controls, and set-up. The poor side is the sound. You don't have much control over base and treble.. besides if you want them extra high or low. But even with the base on low (or normal) and the treble on high, the sound is very muffled. So when you listen on a low volume setting... all you get is mumbles..

Going to get cable in a few days... maybe that will help. If not... back to the store..
