Rating: Summary: The Sony KV24FV12 Review: What can I say... This is a beautiful looking TV, great picture quality, and the sound is fantastic. Walk into an electronics store and prepare to drool. :)The KV24FV12 features SRS and simulated surround modes. I found SRS to be "hissy," but simulated seems fine. Both give you a feeling of fuller/bigger sound. Actually, I prefer to have them both off most of the time. And even with them off, the sound is very very good. For DVD geeks, with a little tweaking in the service menu you can enable a 16x9 mode (search: VUSN) that can produce even better looking wide-screen pictures. Mine also has that degaussing sound (~1 second buzz) like Carlos' TV has, but my other 27" Sony TV and monitor (although not as loud) has this so I was used to it. If you plan on putting this in an enclosed cabinet, it may amplify the sound even more, so I guess it's something to think about. One more thing, for some reason Sony has a feature called "Velocity Modulation" or "VM." It's supposed to sharpen images, but everyone I know thinks it just makes it look bad. Luckily you can turn this off easily, so remember to turn it off when you look at this set.
Rating: Summary: WHY SO MUCH?! Review: why is this so expensive. i know it has better picture, because it's screen is flat. The TV is good, nice sound quality, and the picture is good, but i don't think it takes an extra $200 to "flatten the screen"
