Rating: Summary: Am enjoying my new TV! Review: Granted, I have been using a very old RCA console 25" color TV for the past 14 years, and it was way overdue for replacement. Granted, with all the new features and capabilities TV's have developed in that amount of time, any new TV would impress me... However, this one has impressed me very much! The screen is nice and large, the PIP is a great feature, and I especially like the Guide Plus+. While it took me awhile to get everything programmed and hooked up (to my ancient VCR's!), it is all working well and I am quite happy. I have always enjoyed RCA's quality, although it is seen as a lower end product. I personally have never had any complaints with their electronics. If this TV lasts as long as the old console, I will have definitely gotten my money's worth!

Rating: Summary: Guide Plus Gold w. G-Link is excellent! Review: I don't know where I've been for the past 10 years (happy with my old TV, I guess) but the technological innovations that have been built into these new TV's are amazing! With the Guide Plus programming system, you see a full list of programs on TV for the next three days, and also receive news via MSNBC. Best of all, the G-link cable provided lets you record a program on your VCR just by selecting the program in Guide Plus, and hitting the record button. I couldn't understand how this feature worked at first, and thought I'd have to purchase some expensive TV-VCR interface to get it functioning. However, the G-link cable provided (a cable that plugs into the back of the TV and has an LED on the other end) works with most VCR's. You just stick the tiny red LED onto the front of your VCR, and the TV beams the VCR the necessary codes to record your program, even if the VCR is flashing "12:00". Easy to use, and has great value for the money. Picture and sound are great, and setup is easy. Just follow the online prompts screen by screen, and you'll be up and running in no time. The Guide Plus feature does take a day or so to work, because the TV has to receive information from a station that provides the info in your area (the TV finds the station all by itself), and it can only do this when turned off overnight for at least 10 hours the first time. It then updates itself thoughout the day, whenever it is turned off. Great product with great features!

Rating: Summary: Bad Choice Review: It was a good TV when It worked but It is a year and a half old now and dead as a door nail, with an expired warranty. I've never owned a TV that would go out after only a year or two of use.

I've never owned a TV that would go out after only a year or two of use. Repair man estimated a $300 bill and this is if the tube is good :-( I see I'm not the only one with this problem
Rating: Summary: Not so happy with this RCA Review: The gadgets are cool, the picture is good but I can't recommend it. I started having problems with it within the first 90 days of purchasing it. It was under warranty, so it was repaired at no cost to me. (By the way, there's no such thing in-home repair. That just means they cart the TV to the shop for repair instead of you carrying it yourself!) But the worst of it is that within a year, (apparently) the same problem is back again. At least it looks the same, BUT now the warranty has expired! Needless to say, this is not a good record! I had a Zenith that was almost 20 years old and a Magnavox that is 13 years old. Neither have ever had to be repaired. But this RCA needs repair twice in less than 1 1/2 years! So, if you're really considering buying one, purchase the extended warranty coverage-- you'll probably need it!
