Summary: really good, but a little confusing
Review: I had never seen any of the episodes before watching this movie. I was invited to see it by a friend. When it was over, I understood the plot and the characters almost completely. The only thing that I didn't understand was The Cigarette-Smoking Man, I had no idea who he was and what his purpose was. When I got home, I started to watch the series and I understood it quite well. I recommend this move to anyone who hasn't seen, or has seen some of the recent x-files episodes and doesn't really understand the show very well. END

Summary: Good movie, but doesn't keep the serie's standard
Review: I've seen the movie three times, and I recommend it to everyone who is a fan of the show. I'm a big fan of the show, but in my opinion the movie wasn't made for the big screen. But as they made such big secrets about the movie before it came into the theaters, I was really disappointed when I saw it for the first time. There were parts that were really long and boring and they could have easily made two episodes for the TV out of it.

Summary: THE BEST MOVIE EVER
Review: This is my all-time favorte movie. Anyone who like Science Fiction must see this movie. Even if your not for some crazy reason and fan of The X Files. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

Summary: One of the best movies of the year
Review: The X-Files movie is definately one of the Top 10 I have seen this year. FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) fight the future, and government conspiracys in this first fleature film based upon the TV series The X-Files.

Summary: Not quite excellent, but very good...
Review: The movie expands the conspiracy story-line of the series, has lots of action, and adds a depth of character to Scully and Mulder that we've seen only in some of the best episodes ("Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" comes to mind). I've enjoyed it every time I've sat down to watch it. My only real complaint concerning the movie is that it did not seem to take full advantage of the movie format -- what we ended up with was an excellent, long, widescreen episode of the show.

If you enjoy the show, at least rent the movie, see it a second time -- it will grow on you. If you consider yourself a fan, it is a necessary addition to your video library.

Summary: X-treamly great for fans as well as first-time watchers
Review: I absolutely loved this movie! I am a die-hard fan and i think they did a beautiful job on this film. It answered questions, while posing more; it brought first-time viewers up to date without boring the people who have seen every episode. I've heard people say that it was like a 2 hour episode, but i hardily disagree. The X-files movie brought out details of the relationship between Mulder and Skully as well as the deeper conspiracies in the government. This is a must have movie and i could watch it a thousand times without getting bored. Rent the movie or buy the tape, because there are new scenes added that clear up some questions that have been plegueing viewers for years and it also adds to the plot for people who don't watch the show.

Summary: great
Review: I think the X Files movie stunk! There was no point of whaching the movie! From a scale of 1-10, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest, I would rate this movie a -10 since it was awful. The graphics were awful too. I recomend you Do Not See It. Ajay

Summary: Great collector's gift edition for any X-Phile.
Review: It's a great gift set that comes with two tapes. The widescreen version of the movie and The making of the X-Files movie. Also it comes with a book on the making of the X-Files movie, the movie script in red paper, (3) 8X10 prints of the various movie posters, and a film cell from the movie. A definite for every X-File fan.

Summary: Pretty good !
Review: I stood in the queue for an hour but it was worth the money and time. As a die hard fan of X-files I wasn't disappointed with the long wait for the movie.

Summary: Huge Disappointment
Review: I started watching the X-Files late into approximately the third season after finally being talked into watching the series by a roommate during a cold Chicago winter night. I was hooked. The writing was brilliant and the actors played their parts very well. I even started catching up on the old episodes via reruns. It is very difficult to find a bad episode. I expected this movie to be even better but I was extremely disappointed. The only reason I gave the movie three stars instead of only two was the Mulder and Scully "kiss or not kiss" scene -- that was fantastic. The rest of the movie seemed dull and lacked any spark or element of surprise unlike the series episodes. The movie also seems somewhat predictable which is contrary to the TV episodes themselves where you never know what may happen next. If there is a next movie, I hope it lives up to some of the better episodes, such as: Erlenmeyer Flask Anasazi Nisei/731 War of the Corprophages The Blessing/Paper Clip Pusher Piper Maru/Apocrypha

I know I am missing other excellent episodes (I am very bad with titles) but I believe any of the episodes above are much better than the X-Files movie.
