Happy Days - The Complete First Season

Review: The first season of Happy Days is my favorite one-really original. I really love the song 'Rock Around the Clock' at the beginning and the very first episode on Love American Style, so cool! I hope that one is on this DVD.
In fact, my dad used to remember those Powerhouse candy bars! :)

Summary: Great show...poor price....
Review: The first season of Happy Days was great...less formulaic than later seasons (although they were great in they're own way, when the cast really meshed, seasons 2-5: all great as well). Yet this box set doesn't live up to what it could've been because 1) It only has 16 episodes spread over 3 discs (they're first season wasn't a complete first season, if you'll notice there's no mention of how many episodes are in the set on the back cover....i wonder why?) The price should reflect this and it doesn't 2) a dearth of extras...i.e. nada Still how can you not like Happy Days? A great show till it jumped the shark...literally. Buy it so we get seasons 2-5

Summary: Great show - dishonest packaging
Review: The show gets five stars. However the dishonest packaging gets 1 star (hence the average of three). Nowhere on the package does it mention that you're only getting 16 episodes. (Evidently Happy Days began as a mid-season replacement.) Instead they filled three DVDs only to half their capacity (6,5, and 5 episodes respectively) and put them in a standard 3/4 inch thick box and are charging the same 30-something dollars that they charge for a typical 24 episode complete season. A shameful rip-off (although I must admit that I would have bought it anyway so I guess I can't complain too much).

Summary: BEST SEASON of the series!
Review: These are ABSOLUTELY the BEST episodes of the series when it actually had the 1950's look the show should have had through the subsequent seasons. The LIVE audience ruined the show and the actors started to act differently because of it. THANK GOD they start these series sets with the FIRST SEASON because this is the only one I am buying.

Review: This is kind of creepy actually. I was complaining about the lack of a Happy Days DVD just the other day! It's about time this happened, Happy Days is a classic. I can't wait till this DVD is released. Get up the money and order this today. If you like quality television, you won't be disappointed!
