Summary: Some great acting
Review: This original series, which is easily the highlight of Claire Danes's career, features some of the best acting I've ever seen. The characters are realistic and interesting. I really wish the entire series would become available in DVD format. A classic.

Summary: pure art
Review: Every once in a while a show or a movie comes along that touches me... My So-called Life is one of those shows... It's not painting pretty pictures about teenagers,, it's honest. I know american life is way different from european life but I do relate to Angela... I know how messed up life can be,, and therefor I give this DVD 5 stars. It shows the truth...

check it out.. cause ppl this is what life is like. It's not a paradide. it's hard. and you'll get hurt. and things aren't always black and white... this is a real show.. this is life...

Summary: Wonderful Wonder DVD to own
Review: I was 14 when the TV series aired originally. I loved it then and I love it now. I can't believe that they have only released one dvd for the show. I strongly urge BMG to put the rest of the series out there to buy. My favorite MSCL episode is Halloween so I am bummed I don't own it, but this dvd still rocks and it is put to use on a regular basis.

Summary: Funny, true, life-affirming.
Review: For a period of my life, it described my life. It made me happy. It made me sad. My So-Called Life *IS* my so-called life. I am not female, American, or a teenager, but I relate so strongly to Angela because of what she stands for and what she is. I feel the same with every other character. I find myself growing into Graham. And I don't mind. Every character has flaws, but they are essentially human. It has even been said that I have dallied with a girl who appeared to be Hallie Lowenthal. All of life is played out here. It was a crying shame that it was cancelled. Please, please, please don't let this wonderful series die from memory. I will be immensely disappointed if this doesn't become a boxed set. Please, please, please buy it.

Summary: A taste of network TV at its best!
Review: My So-Called Life was with little close competition the best family TV series produced in the 1990s. The DVD gives a taste of a series that should have been continued for much longer than the 19 episodes which were produced. The show was mysteriously cancelled by the producer due to low ratings.

The characters in the three episodes on the DVD are very real and easy for all ages to relate to and identify with. The acting is excellent. Angela, as the central teenager of the show, gives an extremely believable portrayal of life in an average American town in the 1990s as seen from a high-school student's eyes.

If all 19 episodes are ever released in a DVD box set, I will purchase them immediately. Every family in America should have this entire show in their DVD collection.

Summary: Can't wait for a DVD set!
Review: This is my favorite DVD by far. I own all these episodes included on this DVD on VHS, but the DVD has such better quality and I just can't get enough of this show. I am anxiously awaiting the possible release of the entire show on DVD. I hope they release them because this is simply the best TV show and I hope that they allow us the opportunity to enjoy all these wonderful episodes. If you haven't seen this show yet, this will be the best $... you've ever spent.

Summary: I *agree* where are the rest?
Review: and they need to be on VHS as well! I am a HUGE fan of the show and managed to get one box set with 6 episodes. The second box set with the rest of the season was already sold out. If there is anyone out there with the rights to reproduce these.. PLEASE do so!!!

Summary: Another echo - where are the rest?
Review: Echos from another fan - excellent story telling, excellent cast and performances. Wondering why a year or so after releasing this dvd the other two episode collections reviewed therein have yet to be released? I guess I just don't understand the entertainment industry's marketing plans. Lucas waited so long to release any Star Wars that I lost interest in episode 1 (to be released soon) and won't buy the original 3 if/when they come out on dvd. I may lose interest even in this wonderful showcase of Claire Dane's talents if I don't see more episodes released soon.

Summary: Great! Where's the rest?
Review: There's no doubt My So-Called Life has a massive group of fans worldwide waiting for its complete DVD release. Therefor it's also a huge question why the remaining episodes have not been released yet. It seems pretty pointless to release three episodes on one DVD and stop there. Let's just hope the rest of the episodes are soon to follow.

Claire Danes gives a great performance on screen here, and along with the rest of the cast My So-Called Life, they've made a show I will never forget.

Once again, please release all episodes!

Summary: The Best TV Show Ever
Review: I don't own a DVD player. I would buy this product if I did, to encourage BMG to release all the episodes. As it is, if they release a boxed set, I will probably buy a DVD player largely so I can have a high-quality set of all the episodes.

My So-Called Life has affected me in a way that I would not have believed a television show could. I have come to care about each character so deeply that watching this amazingly well-written, well-acted, well-everything show is an incredibly emotional experience for me. So strongly do I relate to some of these characters that the embarassment I feel for the main character in one scene (Angela's scene with Cory backstage during the Betrayal, if you're interested) may be stronger than any embarassment I have ever felt for myself in my entire life. It is painful to watch. This show makes me laugh, and cry, and smile. And while I never did particularly well in English class (or enjoyed it incredibly much), the quality of this show has taught me skills of literary analysis I would not have imagined I could possess, simply because I am driven to try to understand everything in it...Meanwhile, I encourage everyone with a DVD player to buy this product if you can possibly afford it, even if you will also buy a boxed set later...because only if this product starts selling a bit better will they ever release that boxed set! Losing the opportunity to have an excellent, high-quality version of MSCL readily available to us would be too tragic to allow.
