Summary: AMAZING!
Review: Awesome DVD...I love the extra footage!

Summary: Not enough Joey and Pacey
Review: I had read online that there were more Joey and Pacey scenes that had been trimmed or not even filmed because of time restraints. Sadly, as far as the two of them go, what you saw in the broadcast version is mostly what you get. The extra stuff was fun, and I enjoyed the commentary, but I wish that there had been more...maybe scripts to the previous versions that Kevin Williamson talks about in the commentary. Also, I wish they had an option to play only the broadcast scenes as that version was better in some respects (pacing for example).

Summary: This was Great!
Review: I loved this DVD, I listened to the audio comments and I learned so much about the show. I'm glad that the creator came back to write the last few eppys. It was getting back to how it was in the beginning! After the kids went to college it just wasn't the same but the ending had that origional touch!

Summary: A Fitting End
Review: As a fan of Dawson's Creek since its beginning I looked forward to the extended version of the finale. It did not disappoint. I enjoyed all the cut scenes and the commentary though I would have loved it if some of the actors had been able to commentate.
As to everyone who was so disappointed that Dawson and Joey did not end up together, were you watching the same show. Never did they show on screen that the two of them could ever sustain a romantic relationship with each other. Just because they had a crush at 15 and went out for a very short time does not mean they were destined to be together forever.Yes it was Dawson's Creek but naming an ensemble show after one charactor is always a mistake, and just because Dawson did not end up with a girlfriend does not mean he lost out. He fulfilled his dreams which is what he always wanted, that was much more important to him than Joey ever was.
I was sad to see Jen die but it did give her a meaty story line which has been sadly lacking over the past few seasons, and it was good to see Jack end up in a happy relationship.Joey and Pacey ending up together was as it should be, true love, perfect.
All in all this made a fitting end to six seasons of Dawson's Creek, I shall miss this show more than I thought I would.

Summary: The Legacy of "The Creek"
Review: When I first saw this disk available on your site I immediately pre-ordered it without even thinking.

I've been a Creek fan since day 1 and due to my horrific work schedule I had missed most of the last two seasons. I managed to get off work to catch the series finale on its play time on the WB and it had me wondering what had happened with Andy.. Well the DVD definately smoothed any questions I had with that one. =)

This DVD left nothing unsaid between the group. All information on what had happened throughout their lives on the show was revealed, joked about, and even enhanced a bit. I think you were able to grasp alot of concepts you might have been fuzzy on just by watching it when it aired (like Andy, who Joey really was in love with, as well as other bits of info).

Dawson's Creek will never leave my memory because it wasn't just a "teen soap" or a show I watched on a Wednesday/Thursday night. It was something that actually was able to reach into my soul and my emotions and take hold of them. I know that I had gone through half a box of Tissues during the finale as well as many other episodes in between. I laughed and cried with the cast and friends and I definately consider it a tragedy to not be able to tune into my favorite show every week at 8. But at least I know I can always fire up my DVD played and watch the good times I loved and lived with for so many years.

Summary: Delightful!
Review: I enjoyed the finale on TV, but this is worth the money. THe cut scenes enhance the story. Especially the scene where Dawson watches Joey and Pacey dance. He can see how natural they are, how much they fit, compared to the awkwardness and wrongness of him and Joey. Also how he explains soulmates. This was a concept that the show really trashed. They never made Dawson and Joey act like soulmates. They only talked about it. It never made sense since they treated each other bad and never stuck with each other or understood each other. I felt the explanation on the DVD made it a little clearer. It's like childhood buddies, not lovers. So at least they fit it in a little better.

Pacey and Joey were the highlight of the show. They had chemistry and charisma and always just felt so much more right than Dawson with Joey. Of course part of the problem was that James Vanderbeek was such a bad actor in any love scenes. He made me kind of cringe up when he tried to kiss. So that might be the reason why I was SOOOOOOO glad to see him not be with Joey in the end. It would have been so fake.

Plus I'm glad the fans who thought Joey was Dawson's property got their comeupping. Girls don't belong to men just because the man thinks he has that right. Girls belong to the one who they love, who loves them back. That was Pacey and Joey. Thank you for this wonderful ending. The ending is what m;ade me buy the DVD and watch the repeats. I loved it.

Summary: Not closed captioned
Review: I was really disappointed with this DVD because once I received it, I put it in the machine and fully expected it to be closed captioned. It wasn't--no subtitles or captions, even though the DVD case advertises it as closed captioned. I sent the movie back to Amazon thinking it was defective; Amazon sent me another DVD of the same title. This wasn't closed captioned either. Because I had to open the movie to see that it wasn't captioned, I am now stuck paying for both copies of the movie (although I did get a small credit to my account from Amazon and the people were very nice) and I still can't understand the dialogue because of my hearing loss. If you are deaf, pass on buying this DVD until you can be sure that Sony Pictures has fixed this problem.

By the way, the actual episode that was aired on television was captioned, and if this DVD was also, I'd have given it five stars instead of one.

Summary: DVD is Great and Very Disappointing at the Same Time
Review: I look at this particular DVD in two ways. First, it is the director's and writer's way of justifying why they did not give viewers the ending they wanted. Second, the quality of the DVD itself.

In regards to the DVD itself, it is well put together. There are nice features, trailers, etc. The graphics on the DVD are clean too. Plus, it is the extended cut version of the finale. So, the DVD is worth buying if you are a collector or fan of Dawson's Creek as I am. So, for that reason alone, the DVD gets 5 stars. I mean, it is a nice DVD and well crafted and designed. It's just the story and ending that ruins it.

In regards to the finale itself, this DVD is really nothing more than the writer's and director's way of explaining themselves and trying to make others see and agree with their decision to make Joey and Pacey end up together instead of what everyone expected which is Joey and Dawson getting married. I am a huge fan of the Dawson's Creek series, but they completely ruined it with the finale. The name of this series is Dawson's Creek and not Pacey's Creek. Every fan that I know of, including myself, rushed home to see the finale and was extremely let down and disappointed when Joey and Dawson did not end up together. It makes watching all of the other shows, Season One, Two, Three, etc., a waste of time because now we know that there is no hope and that our wish does not come true. I don't think I've ever been so let down with a show before and of course the writers and director are the ones to blame for it. I rented, not bought (which is completely unlike me), this DVD only because I didn't want to own and come to accept this ending. I rented the DVD only because I felt I deserved an explanation from the writers and director as to why they ended the show the way they did. I listened to the commentary and, as I expected, they spent the two hours justifying the ending, their thought process, how they originally wanted it to be Dawson but couldn't leave Pacey alone and working at a restaurant, etc. To be honest, the DVD didn't change my mind at all. I still feel ill and sick when I see this ending. I just feel let down.

So, if you are a Dawson and Joey fan, be careful before buying this if you think the ending will be good because it won't be. This DVD is solely for those fans who wanted Joey and Pacey to get together. Buy at your own risk.

Summary: Unbelievable!!
Review: As a 30 year-old fan of the show and having seen the series finale numerous times recorded from television, can I just say that this DVD rocks! Seeing the cut scenes really made some of the other scenes make alot more sense. It was just really cool to see everything in its entirety. I hope Columbia Tristar makes the smart decision and continue to release the rest of the seasons on DVD.

Summary: All Good Things Came To The Right End......
Review: I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the season finale of Dawson's Creek. I got thoroughly hooked on Dawson's Creek starting in Season 4, which as I understand it wasn't the best of the
seasons after that. But I have caught up on some of the past seasons with the syndication of the series. Yes, the relationship of Dawson and Joey was cute when they were 15 years
old but after that it just seemed like there was just too many missed and neglected chances between them for them to really be a love interest for life except as a friend or soulmate as Kevin made them. Pacey and Joey were more evenly matched because it seemed as though Pacey brought out the best in Joey and the fun side, whereas with Dawson and Joey there was always too much drama involved in their relationship. Loved the acting of Michelle Williams, she is such a talented actress. I hope she goes far, as well as Joshua, Kerr, and Katie. I can't be a fan of James Van DerBeek because I think he is a terrible actor although in the season finale he did a pretty good job. From what I understood about James, because someone previously had stated about his role being cut back the last two seasons and that the show seemed to focus more on Joey, James had requested that his role be cut back so he could persue other acting possibilities. Anyway, a fitting ending to a great series. Good Job Cast and Crew!!!!!!!!
