Summary: OUt of Order
Review: I used to watch Little House as a child and was glad to finally relive some of those memories on DVD. I don't recall scenes so couldn't say if any have been cut, but I was disappointed "The Race" and "Bunny" were out of order. Watching the race, it felt like I had missed something, or at the very least forgotten something from season two, but then "Bunny" assured me I hadn't missed a thing. The editing should have been better in that regard.

Summary: Audio and video problems
Review: I want everyone to know that on disc 6 during the Soldier episode there are video and audio glitches. I contacted the company about getting a replacement and I was informed they are ALL like that. I see now from other reviews that the company making these dvd's is not dong a job with them. Everyone should write Imavision at Imavision.com and complain.
It is a crime not to put some effort into their product and clean them up and get the best -complete and un-damaged - versions.
I give the seasona 5 but subracted a star for the quality of the dvd's.

Summary: Just Got It Today! (11/4/03)
Review: I wanted to make a quick comment. I bought this earlier today, and I have watched the first Disc already.
I caught a significat flaw. The episodes entitled "The Race" and "Bunny" are out of order. In "The Race", they talk about Nellie abusing the horse, and faking her injuries, which happens in "Bunny". So they made a mistake when they put the DVD together, because they have "The Race" play before "Bunny".

Other then that, the first episode had a few visual flaws, but otherwise, all else is good. I haven't watched the other discs so I can't comment on those. But I recommend you BUY this DVD set and continue your collection. I'm glad I did.

11/05/03 - Update:
I just wanted to add another thing to my review. Many reviewers complained that they only showed the opening credits for the first episode on the disc. Not any longer. Now each and every episode has both opening and ending credits. :-D

Summary: To Live With Fear Part 1
Review: I'm a little disappointed in this dvd because there are some missing scenes in the episode of To Live With Fear Part 1. The last two seasons were made with no cuts to it. But it seems that in season 3, they cut out parts. I don't know whats going on. I'm going to try to return it and exchange it at the store and hope that another one doesn't have the same cutouts. I'm hoping that they will have the full episodes. The cutout parts on this episode that I've noticed are "When Isaiah Edwards is talking to Mary saying that after the operation, she will feel so good she'll want to run all the way home", and the other part is when "the guy at the hospital who gets the money from Charles asks to see Caroline", those two parts are cut out. I hope they fix it. I bought these because they are uncut and have extras as well as not having to tape them off the tv. But the episode I get off the tv has more uncut than the dvd episode does. So I hope that they will do something about it.

Summary: I loved the series - quality is good
Review: I've read the other reviews about the quality and can't agree with what they say. I only noticed two small 'blips' in the entire series. If there is anything from with the quality - then I don't seem to notice it as I find the episodes enjoyable to watch. If your a LHOTP fan you should buy this.

If you like series like Road to Avonlea - then you'll love this series as well.

Summary: Non-American Customers
Review: In addition to the problems discussed by other reviewers, be aware that unlike Seasons 1 & 2, and contrary to the advertising on the packaging, Season 3 DVDs are NOT region-free, but play on region 1 players only.

Summary: A Disappointment After Seasons 1 and 2
Review: Just wanted to add to my earlier review. When I mentioned episodes being "uncut", I was referring to the actual show itself. Opening/closing credits and scene indexes are nice to have, but I would MUCH rather the shows have no scenes or dialogue left out. I consider an episode "uncut" if I get to see parts that are left out when it is shown on T.V. Most of the Season 3 shows are like the ones in syndication.

Summary: POOR RATING IS FOR DVD VIDEO QUALITY~NOT SHOWS...
Review: Man oh MAN! I hate to post such a poor rating for my favorite show of all time, however....

Remember the tacky Kung Fu/Karate Movies of the 1970's?
Remember old Godzilla movies from the late 1950's-1960's? Well, that's what the quality of this 3rd Season reminds me of!

The voices seem to be a few "mili-seconds" short of the mouth movements. The actual picture looks like a cheap B movie~These DVDs just looks and sounds BAD! I own the 1st and 2nd seasons, and I'm glad I have all three, but the price should be ALOT less than $37.99 (Amazon's price) for the whole 3rd season of this Little House on the Prairie set.

Maybe if enough people complain they'll do a RECALL, give us our money back and reissue a 3rd season with the quality audio & visual that the first and second season has--RIGHT?!?!!

UPDATE: 12/31/03.....
Well, I was looking at the insert the other day, and I found that it stated that because of the age of the original film they copied the DVDs from, that some of the audio/video would have slight imperfections, such as mouth movements not in sequence with the speech and the quality of the video. Soooo, I would have really appreciated that info being on the information description BEFORE I purchased this...Oh well, such is life!

Summary: Thank you for releasing these LHoP DVDs!
Review: My wife and I just got finished watching all of the Season 1 and 2 DVDs. It turns out that before we even met each other, we independantly watched every single episode on local TV.

We can't wait for Season 3 to come out. For Seasons 1 and 2, I have NEVER seen LHoP in such excellent quality. The DVDs are excellent. This show can be very funny sometimes and we find ourselves laughing out loud together. Then I've turned and seen my wife in tears during a few episodes. :)

I would highly recommend these DVDs to anyone that wants to see an excellent show with high values and entertaining quality. I just bought LHoP, The Pilot Episode to hold is over until November. :)

Summary: Can't wait for the third season, but...
Review: Negative technical complaints aside, I am so happy to own the first two seasons and can't wait for the third in a few days. But, I feel like maybe we are being taken for a ride in that they have bumped up the price considerably beginning with the third season. Is it the old "bait and switch" scheme, lure us in with a reasonable introductory price then take us to the cleaners knowing we will want the remainder of the series? I suppose if you compare the price to a season of "Friends" this is still a bargain. Still, the only reason to bump up the price of the third season of Little House over the first two is probably nothing more than greed.
