Summary: Nothing New.....
Review: I am a huge fan of Buffy the vampire slayer and have been since the first season, which is why I find this new DVD package release a fair disapointment.
I like many other fans of the show would have already bought the first four seasons on dvd already and therefore would have no need to purchase this set.
Dont get me wrong, this is a great idea and is certainly a must have for people who became fans of the show whilst watching the last season, but for us slayerettes who have been there since the beginning, this offers nothing new.
If the package contained different bonus features like rare never before seen interviews, featurettes for example released in honour of the shows demise, we would certainly buy it. Other wise this release is not that great.
I know people will probably think, "well if we already have all the seasons why are we writing a review" and my answer would be simply this. Buffy was a huge programme and has a cult following. The chances of getting another show like this on our T.V screens are few and far between, even its spinoff Angel cannot surpass its predecessor, and now that it has ended, us fans would like to have more to remember it by as we cant get enough.
I think it would have been nice to do something like that with all seven seasons of the show in a very special commemorative edition boxset with extra features done especially for a commemorative edition of the dvds. This would certainly be a huge hit with fans, old and new, all over the world.

Summary: You can't go wrong with this!!
Review: This DVD set is a terrific way to start a Buffy Collection. Anyone who wants to own the DVDs and has fallen way behind, this is a terrific deal. It's exactly the same as buying all four seasons seperately only you get them all for one great price. The DVDs contain loads of special features including interviews with Joss Whedon (the creator), James Marsters (Spike), and other cast members, writers, and directors.

If you've never experienced Buffy and are thinking to yourself, "Why would I buy four seasons of a television show I've never seen?" I recommend renting the first season from either your local video store or from Netflix. After seeing the first season, chances are you will become addicted and want the rest, then you can make the purchase.

Hopefully they will release a similar offer for the Angel series after the third season is out, that way people can benefit from that a similar offer.

Summary: BEST GIFT EVER...
Review: I've just got this BoxSet as a gift from my mom's friend and have to admit that one of the best gift ever I've received in my life.
4 season (I also got the 5th one - what a friend huh...? :)) (22x3)+12 episodes. And The Truth! Best seasons ever on Buffy. Why?!!! Because Angel is in there :)
Angel with a soul & Angelus as a demon.
Looking forward for the 6th and final season but for now I'm addicted to my TV&DVD player and of course my 100 episodes of BUFFY with all those SPECIAL FEATURES...

Summary: "Destructo-Girl,that's me."
Review: Sister, friend, and Slayer. Buffy Anne Summers is the "chosen one" for our generation, to slain the vampires, and other demons that lurk at night.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer isn't your "normal" vampire slayer story. Buffy doesn't want to be the slayer, she want's a normal life.
Buffy wants to go ice skating and have a boy friend, to be able to go to the movies, and hang out with the popular crowed.
However, the young teen soon figures out that the demons, and the vampires aren't just going to go away, because she want's them to.
Buffy soon meets her first true love Angel/Angelus a two hundred year old vampire with a curse.
The school nerd Willow and Willow's best friend Alexander Harris ( Xander to his friends. )
The show takes on many twists and turns that you really don't think that will happen, and as the seasons progress. The show gets a lot darker and much more interesting.
Buffy also develops some close relationships and has a father figure Rupert Giles ( her watcher.)
There are so many exciting and interesting characters to know in this series. Don't forget to read some of the novel tie ins for the television show.
There are also some excellent sound tracks, computer games, and a lot more to get your teeth into.

Summary: EXCELLENT QUALITY
Review: I have become a huge Buffy fan over the last year. I never really watched it on prime-time television, but have been watching all of the re-runs & I love the show. I want to own every season. I just received seasons 1-4 & 5. They arrived within 1 WEEK of placing my order! They are BRAND NEW, SEALED & each season is in it's own box set! I was hoping it would arrive that way, but wasn't sure it would. The quality of the DVD's is great. Buffy is a very "addictive" show to watch, each episode leaves you anticipating the next- owning the box sets is wonderful, you DON'T have to wait-just watch as many episodes as you'd like. Buffy isn't just for teenagers, it's a great show for adults also. I'm close to 30, and very pleased with my purchase. I give Buffy and Amazon 5 stars! Great show, & great experience buying from Amazon.com.

Summary: Absolutely fantastic
Review: These DVD's are exactly the same as buying all four seasons separately - only you get them all for one great price. The DVDs contain loads of special features including interviews and featurettes.

The first season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer really introduces us to the "odd" world of Sunnydale, Buffys "Watcher" Giles, cute but very dark Angel and the "Scooby Gang" (geeky Xander, computer nerd Willow and popular girl Cordelia). Whilst making new friends at Sunnydale High by day, killing the demonic residents of Sunnydale by night - Buffy is also gearing herself up for one kiss ass fight with "The Master" Season 1 finale.

The second season mainly focus's on romance 1) Buffy and Angel, 2) Xander and Cordelia, 3) Willow and Oz (who has a little secret!), 4) Giles and Jenny (the new Computer Teacher). Ok there's not just lovey dovey scenes, there are a couple of demons Buffy has to defeat as well. Oh and not forgetting the arrival of Spike and Drusilla.

The third season sees (an additional) 2 new arrivals in Sunnydale 1) being a new Slayer called Faith and 2) the "germ free" Mayor of Sunnydale Mayor Wilkins III. Buffy and the Gang must face their worst battle to date and defeat the Mayor on graduation day ... of all days!.

The forth season takes us away from Sunnydale High and introduces us to the new world of "The University of Sunnydale". Where Buffy is finding that the only thing that has changed since leaving high school is the demons she is facing are harder and stronger and has even found soft spot for Spike (they even concider marriage at one point (and you think I'm joking))!! Season 4 also includes the Emmy nominated episode "Hush", which in my view, is the best episode of Buffy so far - virtually a dialogue-free episode in which the creepy "Gentlemen", rob the residents of Sunnydale of their voices. Absolutely fantastic.

Roll on the release of Seasons 6 and 7.

Summary: Great Bundle!
Review: In spite of some of the comments made here, this it not a "new DVD package" of the first four seasons of Buffy. It is simply a bundling of the first four DVD packages together at a great price. So the criticisms leveled against it make no sense.

If you've been holding off on buying the Buffy DVDs because of the cost, this is a great chance to jump in and start your collection!

Summary: Amazon.com "RIP OFFS"
Review: I put this package for Buffy Seasons 1-4 in my shopping cart and saved it for later. I come back a week later to buy it and they raised the price from $119.99 to $182.00. Nice Company!!!!!

Summary: Nice try
Review: After scrounging together the necessary cash I came here last week to order the set for the price of $118, only to find that the lovely staff here had jacked up the price to $182. That's MORE THAN IT WOULD COST TO BUY EACH SEASON ON ITS OWN. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
Bring the price back down where it belongs, ladies, and I'll buy.

As for the Buffy fans, send a message and don't buy this crap at this bloated price.

Summary: DON'T BUY THIS SET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Amazon.com is messing with people on these prices. It actually costs more to buy this set than it does to buy them seperately! I realize that companies can lose their contracts or have supply issues, but they should at least keep these combo sets as cheap as buying them seperately! That being said, these dvds are definately worth owning and are probably some of the best television ever made! The writing, acting, witty dialogue, and cinema quality speical effects are second to none. Buy them! But be smart about it. Overstock.com and walmart.com have them for $150!
