Summary: Not as good as the other SNL disks
Review: I remember Mike Myers being in a lot of funny sketches, but they didn't seem to include many on this disk. I really enjoyed the Wayne's World sketches, and Sprockets (although I would have like to see the one with Phil Hartman dressed as Heidi). Theatre Stories was OK, and the Tokyo Game Show was on the Chris Farley DVD. Most of the other sketches were pretty blah and I found myself reaching for the fast forward several times. Philip (where he plays a hyperactive child) was surprisingly boring. Middle Aged Man and Lothar were also pretty [bad]. I remember liking these on the show, but maybe my tastes have changed? Maybe they just picked some of the [bad] sketches?Make sure you check out the extras -- there was a very funny Scottish Soccer fan sketch in there. Oh, I found that the menus on this disk were poorly done and took forever to navigate, at least on my DVD player.

Summary: I'm a big Mike Myers fan, but.....
Review: I was disappointed with this DVD. Like others have said, I don't think they had the BEST skit, just the skit with the most famous person. It was nice seeing the lesser known Mike Myer skits, but then again, I would have rather seen the funniest skits. The best skit by far is the one with Nicole Kidman where he is the kid chained to the jungle gym. I wouldn't discourage a diehard fan from getting this DVD, but be warned that it's not as exciting as you are expecting. I was going to get the Adam Sandler SNL collection for my boyfriend, but now am wary about it.

Summary: Please consider your purchase carefully...
Review: I was extremely disappointed in this release. I only found the ONE (there should have been more) Coffee Talk sketch and the two Wayne's World sketches funny. Mike had several other more memorable sketches than those included in this release. In many of the sketches the SNL audience was >barely< laughing. SNL should have picked sketches where the audience was roiling. The Adam Sandler and Dana Carvey releases have been FAR superior. So in closing, if you never caught Linda Richman or Wayne's World on tape then stay away.

Summary: A little let down
Review: I'd have to say that I felt a little let down. I am a Mike Myers fan from way back. This is not the best of Mike Myers. It seemed like the only reason some of these skits made it on the DVD is because someone more famous was in the skit as well. I loved the Aerosmith/Wayne's World skit and the Sprockets, but the others were mediocre. I anticipate another "best of" for Myers and pray it will live up to its title.

Review: It was hilariously funny, but I was kind of upset with some of the sketches that I thought definitely did not belong... some of the stupider (too long and slow) sketches somehow worked their way into the video, which brought it down a little... but overall, it was very nice, and it is definitely worth watching.

Summary: EXCELLENT LAUGHS FOR VALUE
Review: Mike Meyers is one of the brightest stars to come from SNL and this brief but nice overview of some of his more famous characters is a delight. From the Japanese gameshow skit with Chris Farley, the bad British teeth faux ad, and many others faetured, this will give you something to laugh at!

Summary: One Step too far
Review: Mike Myers is a comic genius and a favorite of mine. However, there are many people with disabled children these days who are more than mildly upset by the playground skit. Otherwise, Mike -- you are a tremendous talent. Just don't pick on kids, ok?

Summary: Good, but not his best
Review: Mike Myers is one of my favorite SNLers. As a small child I'd watch SNL with my mother and Myers was just starting out on SNL then, so his are some of the most memorable sketches for me. It was a little dissappointing though, he's done MUCH better skits than some of the ones on the DVD. I enjoyed the Wayne's World and Simon skits (what happened to the McCauley one w/ Simon though) as well as Phillip and Sprockets. The best extra material is the Wayne's World with their Don't Drink And Drive skit.

Summary: Like Buttah
Review: Mike Myers joined "Saturday Night Live" in 1989 and stayed on for 6 years, bringing with him a wild assortment of wild and wacky characters that were punctuated by Myers' wit and energy. This 16 - sketch dvd (21 if you count the bonus skits) succeeds at capturing the seasoned canuck at his best, with most (not all, I'm sure) classic characters at their best, from "Philip" to "Wayne's World" to the creepy "Sprockets". All of Myers' most well - known characters get their due. His perennial Wayne from "Wayne's World" is represented here with 3 sketches (counting the bonus sketches), including the classic Madonna dream sequence. "Coffee Talk With Linda Richman" gets 2 skits as well. One is the infamous Barbara Streisand, Madonna and Roseanne one. The other one is on the bonus page. It's from when he hosted the show in 1997, so you know it's not that good. Finally, there's the eerie humor of Dieter from "Sprockets", which also gets 2 skits, including the creepy "Dieter's Dream". There's also some more obscure sketches that haven't gotten their due. "Philip" has got to be my favorite of the bunch. Myers is a hyper - hypo (he's hypglycemic and hyperactive) trying to win the affections of Nicole Kidman while strapped to a jungle gym in a harness. There's also a very funny sketch with him as an injured WWII soldier and Rob Schneider as Hitler. There's a lot more great moments. Some may complain that a few sketches are missing. I'm sure there are, but the ones here are very funny and will keep you on the edge of your seat with laughter. So pull up a chair, make some popcorn, and make every night SATURDAY NIGHT!!!
