Summary: Want the lowdown on all 7 MST3k DVDs? Read This
Review: All the MST3K DVDs are worthwhile for the episodes they contain. One rant, however... I do wish Rhino would introduce some level of consistency to the disc production. I get the feeling all of the MST DVDs were made in someone's dorm room.
Here is a tech DVD breakdown:

[Manos]: Season 4 Episode 24 (Joel) 125 mins including "Hired: part 2" short:
· Disc Label: Purple Satellite of Love graphic
· Menu System: 3 choices - Play Movie, Scene Index, Poopie (annoying Manos music loop)
· Special Features: Poopie - hilarious MST3K outtakes

[Eegah]: Season 5 Episode 6 (Joel) 97 mins:
· Disc Label: Eegah color movie photo graphic
· Menu System: Professional but half done - Play Movie/Chapter Selection, Play Uncut Version, Special Features (Music loop is ¾ of Joel's theme)
· Special Features: List of titles on VHS & DVD - There are the makings of forward and back buttons here but they don't work. All 6 pages just transition through each other slowly. Rhino website address (why this is listed as a feature I don't know.) Uncut version.

[Mitchell]: Season 5 Episode 12 (Joel's Final Episode/Mike) 97 mins:
· Disc Label: Cheap silver silhouette
· Menu System: Cheap flying saucer graphic buttons with semi-annoying music loop from Mitchell - Play Movie, Play Trailer, Scene Index
· Special Features: Original theatrical trailer for Mitchell.

[The Brain That Wouldn't Die]: Season 5 Episode 13 (Mike) 97 mins:
· Disc Label: Double sided disc. (Why? The same features fit on one side with Eegah)
· Menu System: Professional but half done - Play Movie/Chapter Selection, Play Uncut Version, Special Features (music loop is from the movie and moderately annoying)
· Special Features: List of titles on VHS & DVD - There are the makings of forward and back buttons here but they don't work. All 6 pages just transition through each other slowly. Rhino website address. Uncut version on second side.

[Wild World of Batwoman]: Season 5 Episode 15 (Mike) 72 mins + "Cheating" short 20 min:
· Disc Label: Cheap blue with flying saucers (Joel's face errantly graces the box. Mike is the lead in this episode)
· Menu System: Professional - Play Movie/Chapter Selection, Play Uncut Version, Special Features (Music loop Is ¾ of Joel's theme... which is strange as this is Mike's episode)
· Special Features: Lists 3 other MST DVD titles. Click on titles to see a clip from each. Very Nice! Rhino Website. Uncut Version.

[The Beginning of The End] Season 5 Episode 17 (Mike) 72 mins:
· Disc Label: Cheap blue with flying saucers
· Menu System: Professional - Play Movie/Chapter Selection, Play Uncut Version, Special Features (Music loop Is ¾ of Joel's theme - again, this is Mike's episode)
· Special Features: Lists 3 other MST DVD titles. Click on titles to see a clip from each. Very Nice! Rhino Website. Uncut Version.

[Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie] 1996 - 72 mins:
· Disc Label: Cheap silver silhouette
· Menu System: None - chapter selection only
Notes: This movie is really hard to find and considered a collector's item. The only difference between the movie and a TV episode are a precious few amped up special effects, makeup and they hired a real actor to play in one of the skits (which I feel is a tragic mistake). It is not worth the (money) that it is going for in Amazon's Used section unless you're a diehard.

Summary: Painful movie, memorable short, funny host segments
Review: I've watched this episode several times and still have no idea what the movie's about -- something about women in bathing suits and masks hanging around a swimming pool. Mike and The Bots (M&TB) apparently had the same problem, since all the host segments here in Show 515 are an extended storyline related to the short on cheating (titled 'Cheating') that opens the episode.

The short itself -- or, correctly, the riffing on the short -- is good enough to make it onto the MST 'Shorts 1' video, sort of a best-of compilation. The movie is one of those films that are depressing in their badness -- that can make the episode hard to watch, but also can inspire Our Heroes to some of their finest performances. I don't consider this one of MST's very tip-top episodes, but parts of it are quite good. It's a valuable addition to any collection.

Summary: A great MSTing of an *awful* movie!
Review: Okay, Wild Wild World of Batwoman is most emphatically NOT a good movie, with production values that would embarrass even Ed Wood, but Joel and the Bots rise to the occasion, making this not only watchable but a great deal of fun.

An added bonus for a hard-core MST3K fan like me is the inclusion of the uncut and unMSTed original movie on this DVD -- this is a great idea, Rhino, keep it up!

ikaros says get it. :)

Summary: Goofy film...what was the director doing?
Review: This movie is a wierd, goofy one. Don't attempt to watch it without the MST3K support group. It's intolerably bad. The "Cheating" short is a classic one...don't pass this up, but realize it's Mike, b/w, and....lengthy (even though they're all 2 hours, this one seems loooong).

Summary: Wow!
Review: The fourth in Rhino's MST3K DVD series is certainly among the classic episodes. The film is "Wild World Of Batwoman",and....uh,yeah.Batwoman herself seems to justify her name solely based on the fact that she sports disgusting, vaguely BAT-SHAPED BIRTHMARK on her ample cleavage.Otherwise, she wears a cheap Holloween mask and talks a lot. There's a mad scientist(who bears a remarkable resemblance to Doctor Forrester-COINCIDENCE?!?!?....well,yeah,most likely)He has an extremely annoying, hunched over assistant who is stricken with TERMINAL CAMERA MUGGING.At one point in the film, the two kiss each other FULL ON THE MOUTH,proving once and for all that evil has prevailed in the universe. There is a villian named Rat-Fink,who's appearence was facilitated by stealing footage from an old MEXICAN WRESTLING FILM.Lot's of (admittedly hot) girls in bikinis dancing all over the place.Middle-aged men with big mustaches talking for hours and hours.A scene involving the contacting of a disembodied spirit, who speaks in insulting STEREOTYPED CHINESE(a formal apology on behalf of all Americans is issued by the SOL crew to all people of Asian decent.)ABSOLUTELY NO PLOT.Perfect for Mike and the 'Bots, who toil and suffer so that we may chuckle.Bless you, gentle angels. There's also a short about the hellish,dark,spirit-destroying world of copying answers on a MINOR MATH QUIZ.The main character, the evil,craven,demon-spawn cheater in question is placed in physical and spiritual exile, and utterly stripped of dignity and human grace, which,as we all know,is the fate that these wretched cheaters surely desreve.A similer scenario is played out on the SOL,as an essay assignement goes awry when Crow copies Gypsy's essay word-for-word.Servo demands his EXECUTION.Mike decides that just not giving him any DESSERT PASTRIES is ample punishment.Another great episode of the show, and highly recommended.

Summary: ARGH!
Review: The MST3k guys do their usual wonderful job of taking an unwatchable movie and making it some of the best entertainment that you'll ever see. The film is absolutely ridiculous and it can't seem to figure out if it wants to be scary, serious, funny or hip. It ends up, of course, not being any of these things.

GASP as a scientist creates an atomic-powered hearing aid! THRILL as the same footage of the villain Rat Fink (yes, the main villain's name is Rat Fink) is used over and over again! SCREAM as the scantily clad extras dance awkwardly with each other (one wonders if they were paid per wiggle)! Where exactly this film went wrong is a question that one could spend many hours pondering, but it's much more fun to just sit back, relax, and watch Mike and the bots suffer through THE WILD WILD WORLD OF BATWOMAN.

This episode also featured the short film, CHEATING. This is perhaps the epitome of every 50's educational short film ever made. To sum it up in words would not do justice to its sheer horribleness. It could cause death by laughter all by itself, but in the hands of the crew of the Satellite of Love, it becomes positively dangerous.

Note: For the very brave, the DVD version of this film also comes with the regular, un-MST3Ked version of the film. I do not recommend activating this feature without a parent, guardian or medical worker present.

Summary: "It's like we're smart but we're not!"
Review: Oh, the humanity! This is easily my favorite episode of MST3K. "Bat Woman" had *no* plot whatsoever besides a lot of pointless dancing and running around. The short on cheating is one of the best shorts they've done, and lays the ground for some of the funniest host segments ever: "Cheating is bad. Richard Basehart is good!" I don't recommend this episode for new fans of the show. Build up with some easier material like "Angels Revenge" before you get into the heavy stuff.

"Hey, get your Bat Woman out of my Mole People!"

Summary: Horrible movie, wonderfully skewered
Review: It often seems that, the worse the movie, the better the kibitzing from the MST3K crew. That's certainly the case with this movie, which is beyond god-awful, but Mike and the 'bots have been inspired to rise to the occasion by giving it the verbal pantsing it so richly deserves.

This DVD also contains the short film "Cheating" (with some hilarious host segments revolving around Crow cheating on an essay) and, for the masochistic, the full-length, uncut "Wild World of Batwoman" without the MST comments.

Summary: Luche Libra!
Review: Yes,this is just one of many all-time mst3k classics. But the mexican wrestler-villian reminded me of another episode where a mexican wrestler plays the hero, fighting against vampires.Does anyone remember the title?(i dont know if it was released on video or not)This show was right up there with seinfeld as the greatest comedy shows of ALL TIME.(too bad their boh cancelled, and all we are left with is drivel like friends,or lame cast members on SNL)Do yourself a big favor, and buy them all.Start with PodPeople(i literally cried i laughed so hard)Manos(surviving the full 2 hrs will make you a stronger person)Mitchell(a very funny scene where Mitchell climbs a barred fence, while being chased by gun toting baddies, who dont shoot between the bars, but try to climb after him)Santa vs Martians,Killer shrews,Laserblast(last CC episode, and since my area never got Sci fi,the last mst3k episode ive seen)I could go on and on,but the truth is,there are only a few episodes that arent very funny, while ALL the others are
