Summary: Great series... Bad picks for DVD
Review: I own one of the "recalled" DVD's, I got it at Popular Chain video store... I guess they weren't supposed to sell it. The previous descriptions of the episodes are correct. I just wished that picked better episodes then these. For example they should have picked "The 1977," "The Food Inspector," "Bad Shrimp," or even "The Spelling Be" shows (ect., to vast to list). What I do like is the interview with director DAVID MIRKIN (Thanks Rhino!), the animated menus, crew/cast filmographies, and the No laugh track option. I won't bad mouth the shows they picked too bad because bad shows are better than no shows. Hopefully we can get the whole series and maybe see an interview with Chris himself. Keep Up The Good Work Rhino!!!!

Summary: Not the best selection but get it anyway
Review: I'd have preferred a box set of the whole series, but this (and the first volume) is a start. The problem with best-ofs it has been years since this series was on the air, so how are we supposed to remember what are Chris' relationships with the supporting characters? Also, only two of these four episodes are stand-outs (Zoo Animals and the Submarine story).

Great lengthy bonus interview with the series creator on this DVD. He paints a frightening picture of how Chris' character would have developed if the series had run on for more seasons.

* Note that a mispressing of this DVD with horrible technical problems on the episode "Zoo Animals on Wheels" was released and then quickly recalled in late 2001. However judging by the reviews that appeared here over a month before the corrected version was even released, some of the recalled discs slipped out to consumers. (Not through Amazon, though!). For reviews of the disc as it was intended to look, look for reviews from February 2002 on.

Summary: Five simple words...
Review: I'm giving this DVD 4 stars simply for lack of extras. There's a short interview with David Mirkin, but not much else. They could have at least included a few words from the man himself! Maybe Rhino's saving that for the next round, if there is one.

But Get a Life is a five star sitcom, and I am more than happy with this DVD. I have been waiting years for a good copy of "Zoo Animals...", possibly the funniest 30min in television history. The other episodes are good as well, though there are some I would have rather seen than "The Big City". "Meatlocker 2000" anyone?

Anyway, it's better than any VHS bootleg you'll ever find.

So buy this DVD...Missy!

Summary: Where's the good episodes?
Review: It seems that the episodes of "Get a Life" are being released in a manner such that the poorer episodes are released first to guarantee people will buy the entire set. Also, the price is very good, but there should be at least 6 episodes on each DVD given their short run time. In short, BRING ON THE GOOD EPISODES, AND QUICKLY!

Summary: One of the funniest shows ever
Review: It's great that the select few who "got" this funny humour get to finally own it on dvd and appreciate it in it's full glory! It's just a superb show with great acting and very funny scripts. This dvd contains more fantastic episodes well worth the small price! Check it out.

Summary: "Time Drink" episode next time, OK?
Review: No matter what episodes they release, they will be funny. Nothing beats attention to detail, and whoever wrote and directed this show are freakin hard-working genius! "Get A Life" is the cleverest and funniest show hands-down that Fox ever broadcast.

Still, I'd like to see the Time Drink episode again, where Chris goes back to stop Gus from getting fired from the force - along with the final episode, where he fell from a plane, and his life flashes before his eyes. I wonder what the maximum number of CD's I'll have to see released before both those episodes surface again? I'd still have them today had I not trashed the Betamax.. Hmm, before I turn into Chris Peterson, I bid you happy viewing. Not often you get to see well documented comedic chemistry between son and father :-D

Summary: #1 on my want list ahead of "The Godfather" & "Citizen Cane"
Review: Oh god please contain "Zoo Animals on Wheels", the Submarine episode, the lost in the park episode, and the Amish episode. I would pay $20 just for the Zoo Animals. This was television sitcom at its peak. ... Unfortunately for this show, it required a sense of humor to get this show. Chris Elliot is a comic genius. The only show today that comes close to this show is "The Family Guy".

Summary: Finally!
Review: Oh it is about time for more "Get A Life" on DVD...thank you Rhino. I can't wait. The best TV show of all time - if you don't agree, well too bad - as Chris Peterson might say, "Nah nah nah nah nanna naana na."

Summary: WORST>>>SHOW>>>EVER
Review: Seriously, this show was unintelligent, childish, unreal and completly and utterly ignorant. Worst show ever....EVER. DO NOT BUY THIS GO**amn DVD.

Summary: Four more episodes from this short, but groundbreaking show.
Review: Since Amazon has not given any info on the release, I will.

Here's a run down of the episodes and a short synopsis.

- "Zoo Animals On Wheels"
Chris auditions for the local community musical by lamely dancing to a rousing version of "Alley Cat." Amazingly, he wins the starring role of the sad wildebeest-much to the leading lady Sharon's disgust. After a long, grueling rehearsal the theater group manages to put on a play that is so sickenly awful that Chris's parents walk out and violent fights erupt between the remaining audience of "actors."

- "Married"
Chris meets a gorgeous model, falls in love, gets married, drifts apart, has an affair, gets caught, seeks couples counselilng, gets divorced, and begins dating somene new - all during the course of one day.

- "The Big City"
Chris finally takes his first trip through the giant double doors of the big city where he is promptly slipped a mickey. When he wakes, his wallet is gone. A beautiful reporter looking for a story puts the innocent idiot on the front page, and the entire town take "Wallet Boy" into their hearts. When they find out he left his wallet at home, the town tries to kill him.

- "Neptune 2000"
When a two-man submarine that Chris ordered from a comic book twenty years ago finally arrives, he talks his dad into spending some quality time together.
