Summary: a must buy for sanford and son fans
Review: sanford and son the second season dvd is much better than the first dvd. With an extra 10 episodes and 3 discs, you can spend hours and hours just laughing at this classic, wonderful show. A must buy if you are a fan of the show or not.

Summary: Great show, but possible bad transfer?
Review: The greatness of the Sanford & Son series goes without saying; however, I am wondering if I got a defective DVD set, or if all the DVDs have transparent yellow bands (this is most noticeable on Disc One/Episode: Blood is thicker than Water) in the picture? If it is just due to them using the poor source material recorded in the 70's, I can live with that. Anyone else experiencing this? Otherwise, don't pass up the first and second season of Sanford & Son on DVD up! These DVD sets are a great value for such a classic and hilarious series.

Review: They don't make comedy shows like this anymore, I still cry laughing when I put on a Sanford and Son comedy. Don't miss out specially at times we may have 200 channels of cable and can't find something good to watch on TV, that's when it's great and pull-out the Sanford and Son to make your laughing day. Hey, I agree! They should come out with "What's Happenin'!, "Taxi and Welcome back Kotter"

Summary: I cant stand to laugh anymore.........
Review: This DVD collectio keeps getting funnier, and better with each new season. I'm glad that this show is being re-introduced to a younger audience as well. This gives everyone a chance to se what "Real comedy" is. This one slaps us with 24 hilarious episodes. You know it had to be funny when it came out because there are more episodes on this one than on the first. That should tell you something. This collection introduces us to Aunt Esther, Rollo, Julio, and some other characters that brin nothin but laughs. It's great!!! This will hold me until Season #3 drops. PS.....what about "Whats Happenin'!"

Review: This is a must have for a classic television collection and I would recommend anyone to buy this because it is very good and very funny I would advise anyone who likes classic television to buy all three dvds. All of these episodes are hiliarious ....
Lamont adds to the humor also he is very good talented as well and he does great acting as well..... Everyone on this show adds to this shows success all of the actors are great so you won't regret the purchase!!!!

Summary: Sanford and Son Season 2
Review: What's funny is that as I tried to get the 1st season, they were sold out so I got the second season and get this; I got more than what I asked for. Getting three discs with some 20something episodes, I felt like I put TV Land out of business with my own S&S marathon. These discs have parts I didn't even know were on the original shows so that was a treat within itself. Seeing the introduction of Rolo was a big laugh. I thought I would never stop laughing. These episodes are like fine liquor, they only get better with age. I had a little trouble playing the episodes one right after the other but that was fixed with a minor adjustment on my DVD player, so like I said, no commercial interruptions and hours of Sanford along with the right adult beverage, oh man, almost as good as -- well not that good but still a close 10th.

Summary: Classic Comedy From A Master..
Review: While the first season of "S&S" saw a few characters come and go and was integral to establishing the rapport between Redd Foxx and Demond Wilson, the acting seemed a bit stilted, Lamont was far too mean-spirited to be likable and the story lines were underdeveloped. But Season 2 is when everything gelled and this became a top-notch sitcom. The writing sharpened considerably (with contributions from Richard Pryor and Paul Mooney!)and the ensemble acting was airtight. Foxx was an absolute genius whose timing, wit and razor sharp delivery (no one is better at a put down)was the nucleus of the show and seemed to inspire all of his supporting players. While the fake heart attack bit got to be a bit tiring and redundant (just like Jimmy Walker's Dynomite!!)Foxx and company would continue to add many dimensions to their characters and remain quite strong through the next 2 seasons (Season 5 was just the cast walking through thier roles with hardly a laugh to be found and pointless episodes like the 2-part "Hawaiian Diamond Hiest")and establishing a legacy of great TV veiwing and timeless comedy. This is Redd Foxx at the peak of his powers. Classic.
