Summary: Dark Shadows!
Review: I had never heard of Dark Shadows previously. Recently, one of my friends recommended it to me, so I decided to take a look at it. Today, I finished watching the first DVD set of Dark Shadows and must say that it is unlike any other TV series that I have ever seen. This show is very intriguing and will make you sit in front of your TV the whole day. I was a little skeptical as to whether I would enjoy watching a show of the 60s, but once I started seeing it, I changed my mind. This is an amazing show that anyone can enjoy!

The lives of the many change in Collinwood when a member of the Collins family, Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid), arrives to meet his family. Soon mysterious events start occurring in Collinwood which no one can explain. As we go through each episode, we also meet Elizabeth Collins who is helplessly being blackmailed; David Collins, who seems to encounter ghosts; Willie Loomis, who seems to have changed his personality suddenly; Maggie Evans, whose life changes drastically; and, of course, Barnabas Collins, the mysterious relative, who has other plans than just meeting this family.

Sounds interesting? It definitely is! From the first episode of this DVD set, you get hooked onto the show. Jonathan Frid acts wonderfully as Barnabas Collins. With each episode ending in a suspenseful way, you would want to watch the next episode to see what happens.

Along with the episodes, this set also contains a featurette and any exclusive interview with the stars. I am glad I purchased this set, and am on my way to buy the next one.

Summary: BEWARE! HIGHLY ADDICTIVE SERIES!!!!!!!
Review: I didn't grow up watching this show, but heard about it's popularity. Because it was described as a soap, I thought it would be boring, and have long drawn out stories, yet I still heard it was popular. So, I decided I would give it a chance by renting the first set. After the first episode, I kept watching each episode to see what happened next until I was done with the first disc, had to start watching the next disc, and so on. When I was done with Collection 1 I realized I would be waiting at the mailbox for each Set as long as it lasted. That will be one of the saddest days when I finally progress to the very last episode.
From the very first episode of Collection 1 it only got better as more storylines evolved or new ones developed and you figured out there was always more. If you missed seeing one set or even one disc you missed a lot. Barnabas and others, namely Grayson Hall's characters are intelligent, curious, and always solving supernatural mysteries. Dan Curtis and his crew made a hit show based on and relying on great storytelling, and choosing the right actors to fit the roles to create fascinating characters, not like nowadays where they rely on a lot of superficial garbage (effects, hip/popular actors, hip dialogue, etc.).
PS: I accidentally caught the end of a Dark Shadows episode that aired on TV one day and was hooked immediately and I wanted to see what happened next, but at the time I didn't know what I was watching, but saw the end that said Dan Curtis Productions. Also, if they air it on TV again they should do better advertising so that people can be interested enough to try it, know that it is on, and not miss the first Barnabas episode.

Summary: Sink your teeth into this classic!
Review: This was the soap that everyone, boys and girls, kids and adults, raced home from school and work to watch together. Part of this classic's charm are the bloopers, since the show was filmed live. Kate Jackson, David Selby and others made debuts in this campy soap, and of course there's the immortal Jonathan Frid..... Buy this one and thrill to vampires, werewolves, parallel time and the evil Angelique once again!
