Summary: Outstanding Series about Relationships
Review: This is an outstanding story about the real issues of life. You will enjoy this production if you enjoy thinking about the strange and powerful paths of our different relationships throughout one's lifetime. The performances of ALL of the actors are excellent. The script is thoughtful, intelligent, powerful and mesmerizing. The topic is relevant. What else can one ask for? I cannot wait for the second season to be released! It is a shame that ABC does not have the sense to address reality in their current productions (I know it is called 'reality' television but it is all escapism). 'Once and Again' makes one ponder the small things that really counts. This is the best TV series I have ever watched!

Summary: Fall in love again with Once and Again.
Review: I fell in love with this show the very first time I saw it and after watching this first season on DVD I have fallen in love with it all over again! This DVD set will remind you of what great television can be. The writing is amazing; the actors are incredible; and the chemistry between Sela Ward And Billy Campbell is SO engaging and so believable... It is such a shame ABC cancelled this show. I cant wait to get Seasons 2 and 3!

Summary: PLEASE RELEASE THE FOLLOWING SEASONS ON DVD SOON!
Review: One of the best acted, written, directed and produced TV-Series ever! Why can't TV stations handle quality right and then impose their own failure on the series? I'm so grateful that the decision was made to release it on DVD and I desperately hope to see the second and third season released soon as well! Here in Germany, "Once and Again" was suddenly and without warning dropped after the 13th show - just as "Ally McBeal" was in its first run on the same station called VOX. These idiots just don't know what to do with the best product they had the good fortune to get their hands on. Hopefully, DVD is the medium in which we can appreciate this fantastic, touching, subtle, intelligent and simply wonderful TV series in the future as a whole work of art which it is.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: This set contains nearly 22 hours of the best that network television has (had!) to offer. It is a wonderful, heartfelt portrait of people you wish you knew. Each character was well-written and the acting super. ABC canceled the program to air programs like "The Bachelor" and "The Chair". Well, thank goodness for DVDs and the fact that I can watch "Once and Again" as often as I like. Hopefully, there will be a Season II and a Season III collection as well!

Summary: SUPERB and INDELIBLY MOVING!
Review: PLEASE!! Please release all 3 seasons! Oh, and if you could.. PLEASE MAKE THEM AVAILABLE TO THE CONSUMERS!! ...I traveled for hours.. HOURS to find this EXCELLENT Series and was SO disappointed in the fact that other shows released to dvd on the same day were readily available but, THE BEST SHOW, "Once And Again" wasn't even on the computers for MOST of the stores I tried.. HELLO! ...FINALLY!! Media Play *THANK GOD!* had the set.. after hours of driving in the rain.. but, you know what.. take one look at this set.. you'll see that I didn't do nearly enough to deserve the quality and immense pleasure of this brilliantly casted masterpiece of a show. I am eagerly awaiting the last 2 seasons.. proof of intelligent, moving, thoughtful, forever-endearing programs are possible and able to be distributed to the masses..even if there seemingly isn't enough of the good ones *people* out there to appreciate it. ALSO, BUY "BACK TO THE FUTURE" on DVD!! :) Thank you kindly for your time and patience~

Summary: captivating
Review: I could not stop watching the series. I thought it was wonderful acting and am sorry that I did not watch it when it was on T.V. I hope they put the rest of series on DVD. Wonderful storylines that are true to life. The show would not have been canceled if more people got a chance to watch it....

Summary: The Best Drama That Network Television Has Ever Offered
Review: About three years ago I started seeing a few nifty commercials for a neat-looking little show called "Once and Again," and over time I sorta got this hunch that it would be worth saving. So the night it premiered (Tues., Sept. 21, 1999), I decided not only to watch it -- but to tape it, as well...and I didn't stop recording until this past May, when it was, after a long struggle in the ratings, cancelled. And although valiant efforts by fans to save it ultimately proved fruitless, those who truly adored the show are now getting a gift from Heaven: all 22 episodes of the first season forever minted on DVD. Offering a pristine transfer (and, sadly, not much else) the six discs here are the perfect way to re-capture the warmth, depth and intelligence of the finely crafted, intricate tale of Rick Sammler (Billy Campbell) and Lily Manning (the luminous Sela Ward), two divorcees struggling to find romance in a bustling suburban world of PTA gossip, demanding exes, and jaded kids. And at the very same time the show was making smart, heartbreaking observations about the Way We Are, it was also slowly paving the way for astoundingly deep character development. The basic idea of the series was that drama could be created without too much of a plot; take a moment, stand back, and watch the people -- how they interact and react -- and you'd find all the drama you could possibly need. What helped "O&A" become so successful in proving that was, foremost, the writing. It allowed for many moments of silent introspection without ever becoming navel-gazing tripe. Also quite integral to the show's main purpose was its remarkable ensemble. There was not a single bad casting choice. Even young Meredith Deane (who played Zoe, the button-cute 9-year-old daughter of Lily) held her own when it was required (just watch her dismay after learning the truth about Santa Claus in the eventful "Gingerbread House" episode). In fact, I would go so far as to say that "Once and Again" had the best dramatic ensemble in TV history -- and I would love to go on and describe the beauty of every actor's gifts, but for the sake of time and space I'll say only this: I shall never forget any of their names. As TV drudges through its first season without "O&A," it's becoming incredibly clear how much this series will be missed. Never again, I think, will network TV see such a fantastic character-driven show. I doubt anything will even come close -- unless, of course, it's the next brilliant spark of an idea created between the two geniuses ultimately responsible for "Once and Again"'s every success: executive producers Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick.

Summary: Best Xmas Gift She Got
Review: My wife and I, both divorced, met shortly after this show came on the air and we were always comparing our relationship with the one on the show. Shortly after we got married the show went off the air and she was so dissappointed. Last month while Christmas shopping I found this DVD set and she said it was the best Christmas present she's ever gotten!
