Summary: One of the best of the seasons, can't wait for it.
Review: In the 7 years that it was on television Buffy the Vampire Slayer did manage to be all over the place in writing quality and plots but 5th season is one of the best of the 7.
I thought Buffy vs. Dracula was pretty stupid, but did like the way Dawn was sprung on us. Glory was prehaps the best villain of the entire series, managing to be evil, tough and serious with several comical bits thrown in. Examples of this would be when Willow and Tara transported her miles away and to high altitude (Glory goes "Oh Shi-!,as she falls to Earth) and the truck encounter with Buffy. In this one after she's caught up with Dawn and Buffy she's told by Buffy "I've got just one word to say to you Glory- Truck"as Glory is knocked down the street by a passing 18 wheeler.
Some of the battles are also very good if a bit inconsistent. Over the years Buffy has taken several beatings being injured to various degrees and sometimes had an awful time just beating a single Vampire. During 5th season Buffy really gets knocked around by Glory, takes some amazing falls and blows, but doesn't seem to suffer like she had in the past. I especially liked two of the battles, in the 1st Buffy has just split up with Riley and runs into the pack of Vampires whose home she'd torched, for a girl whose been known to have difficulty with 1 Vampire she takes out I think 8 of them. The other battle is the climactic season ender in which Buffy beats Glory to a pulp and shows mercy to her (in her brother Ben human form)before going off to rescue Dawn. It was a nice touch when Giles, the nice calm good guy finishes him off becuase as he tells Ben Glory will resurface and be a danger, buffy spared her anyway because she's a hero.
The list of extras that come with this set sure sound like they'll be really good.

Summary: She Saved the World... A Lot.
Review: I have to say, that this is the best season out of the seven. Everything comes to a climax at the end the season and I think that it would have been best if the series had ended here.

It starts off with your typical throwaway season premiere ep, "Dracula", in which Buffy faces the legendary vamp himself. But unlike other seasons, this one has one very important character introduction at the end of the ep: Dawn. Yes. Dawn, Buffy's brand spanking new little sister, who apparently has been with her since birth. The way everything pans out with her in the end is great.

Buffy's nemesis this season is the all-mighty and mighty pretty Glory, or Glorificus if you want to get technical. She is a goddess who just seeks a way to get back to her own home dimension. In order for that to happen, she needs to find "the key," which the Monks had purposely hid from her in order to keep the world from going down in ruin.

A lot happens during this season. Tara finally feels at home with the gang as a Scooby. Willow & Tara's love is tested for the first time. Riley leaves Buffy with an ultimatum that could change her life forever. Xander & Anya take their relationship one step further. Spike finds he's fallen for the Slayer. Giles and Buffy's relationship starts falling apart.

In the season finale, "The Gift," Buffy faces her toughest decision and ultimately chooses what is right. This ep is not only the season 5 finale, but is also the 100th episode and the last new episode to run on The WB. Hence, the title of the ep. It was truly a gift bestowed upon us fans by Joss. Thankfully, this season is finally coming to us in R1.

Summary: Season 5 of Buffy is second only to Season 2
Review: This is my second favorite season of Buffy - some of the best episodes of the entire series are in this season. Episodes such as "The Body," "Fool for Love," and "The Gift," are bar none, some of the most well-produced, powerful hours of television ever made.

If you're a fan, I can't see why you wouldn't buy this season, and if your not a fan, this season of Buffy will make you one.

Summary: Buffy Season 5
Review: Buffy Season 5 was one of the most challenging moments in our heroins life. From Buffy vs. Dracula, to finding that she has a little kid sister named Dawn, from Riley leaving Sunnydale, the powerful relationship between Willow and Tara, to the death of Buffy's mother and the death of Buffy.
My favorite episode of the season would have to be Tough Love because it shows Buffy's responsibility to taking care of her sister and Glorificus taking the mind of Tara which angers Willow.Willow didn't understand why Buffy acted the way she did towards Dawn, until Willow realized it after Tara became a vegtable.
My favorite fight scene would have to be the fight between Glory and Willow and Buffy. Willow was upset at the fact that Glory had taken Tara's Mind, Willow wanted retribution so she turned to Witchcraft, but even the power Willow possessed could not bring this powerful deity to her knees until Buffy came to her aid but neither one of them could stand up to her so they had to leave.
Season 5 had alot of emotions; Buffy wanting to know about her Slayer skills as she wanted Giles to be her watcher again.
Anya finally feeling human in the episode The Body. To finally meeting the "The Council" and their motives to Buffy's vital information about Glorificus in the episode Checkroom. Dawn finding out that she is the key in episode Blood Ties. Spike fantasizes about Buffy in episode Out of My Mind and Drusilla's long awaited return back to the show in the episode The Crush. So I would recommend this season to any Buffyfanatics out their because of the action, humor and drama all in one episode.

Summary: Awesome Season
Review: The Fifth Season of Buffy is one of the best. It's a three-way tie for best season between this one, season three, and season seven. This season features the shows best villian, Glory, and two of the best episodes of the entire series, The Body and The Gift. It is also the season in which Buffy's sister Dawn is introduced. Plus, it's the season where Anya becomes a main character, and Drusilla returns (although it is just one episode). There are, however, some negative bits in this season. First of all, Riley is still here to annoy us for the first half of the season. Luckily he left half-way through. But after he left, Spike started falling in love with Buffy. I think spike is a great character, but he was MUCH better when he was with Dru. Buffy and Spike's "relationship" in the sixth season made me sick, and is the main reason that season six is my least favorite. But that's off the subject. My point is that season five is one of the best, and anyone who doesn't buy this shouldn't be allowed to have a DVD player. This show is awesome.

Summary: Excellent Season!
Review: Great episodes and storyline! A must for any Buffy fan.
Amanda Vorbeck you are mistaken though, The Wish isn't the final episode. That's actually in season 3, episode 9. The Gift is the finale in season 5.

Summary: Opposite Reasons to love Season 5
Review: I must the only person that loves/hates Season 5 for the opposite reasons as everyone else. Besides the great episodes The Body and The Wish, this season saw the farwell to Riley. One of the most boring and seemingly self absorbed characters in the Buffy Verse. He started out with such potential in Season 4, but then he was made "normal" and seemed to lose not only his military strength, but his personality and feelings as well. He is so concerned about Buffy not being there for him, when it's her mother that is in and out of the hospital. It was great to see him fly off into the horizon and not look back. However as good as it was to see Riley leave he was replaced with someone that was even less likable. Dawn the whinest of all characters. She hates her big sister, she hates that everyone treats her as a child, she hates that big sis Buffy is the slayer, she hates...everything. This season showed great leaps for the character building of Xander, Anya, Spike, Willow and Tara. It also shows Giles and Buffy working together perfectly against the Council to get their way. All in all it was a great Season, even Buffy did die at the end and not Dawn. And what a lead-in for Season 6.

Summary: Why this season is so good...
Review: Everything, everything is great about this season, you will pay a certain amount for this season, and it will be worth every penny and then some, some Great episode, like 'The Body' where buffy's mother dies, had to be the most powerful and moving episode ever made for TV, and the season finale, where Buffy, must chose from her own life or her sisters, left us so much with closure, that they didn't need a season 6, but they did it anyway, and i can't wait till they reach DVD either, this is by far one of the best seasons, it stands right up there with Season 2 and 3.... I'm slowly owning the whole collection and i can't wait to add season 5 to it on December...
