Summary: It's about time
Review: This is great. I was wondering where the actual first episode was, but I figured out it was on the 3rd disc. I watched this show when I was kid thousands of times, and even more times in syndication. When I saw it, I knew I had to have it. What I find weird is that all of the episodes from Season 2 are not on here. But 33 episodes for 40 bucks is a great deal. You cannot beat that folks. IF you loved this show when you were younger, this is a must purchase.

Summary: Awsome
Review: Unbelieveable! 5 dvds of your favorite episodes. My friends and I watched 2 discs (3 hours) when I first got it. Then watched the other 3 the next day. Watching slater dance is a highlight.Unfortunatly, the Rod Belding episode is missing. I recommend playing the SBTB drinking game while you watch. Just drink when Slater has no sleeves, Slater calls Zach preppy, Screech does something stupid, or you see someone with pants hiked uped to there chest.

Summary: Somewhat funny, but not worth nearly forty bucks
Review: When I was about six, maybe a little younger, I ADORED this show. I thought it was hilarious, and super realistic (like I said, I was six). And the last few months I "rediscovered" it on TBS every morning, and have faithfully watched it. And when I heard the DVD was coming out, I rushed out to the local video store (thankfully, mine carries TV shows too) and rented it.

Maybe it's just me, but forty bucks seems a little heavy for the set. I mean, the show is pure bubblegum, sugar coated, totally unrealistic...fluff. I don't think anyone can sit and watch the DVD for hours and hours without getting cavities from so much sugary-sweet fluff.

But, on to the actual review. Maybe it's just me, but after watching three or four episodes Zach's crazy antics, Screech's excessive dorkiness, Jessie's feminist views, Slater's "macho man" appearence, Lisa's fashion fanatics, and Kelly's ditziness gets extremely old. And each episode is pretty much the same - Zach loves Kelly, Zach and Slater fight about Kelly, Zach gets in trouble, Screech is shoved in a locker...etc. The show is good to watch occasionally, but to own the entire first two seasons - and the forty bucks that it costs - are definately too much.

Soo, in short, skip buying the DVD and just watch the random reruns on TV.

Overall grade - D

Summary: No deleted scenes and other extras, but still perfect!
Review: I have always enjoyed the writing of this show, incredibly funny and brilliant when compared to other television shows in this genre (or decade). I remember my excitement each Saturday morning when it aired, and I also remember waking up early those school mornings when the show was in reruns. Unfortunately, syndication destroyed some of the best wit by trimming scenes thereby leaving other scenes incomplete. I'm thrilled that this DVD collection contains each complete episode and I finally can appreciate every aside.

Although two seasons were bundled together in one package is an appreciated advantage, I would easily trade that convenience for the inclusion of out-takes, deleted scenes, commentaries, etc. Apart from that small complaint, I would have gladly accepted worse as this collection was long overdue and it is such a small price to pay for such an emotional walk down memory lane. It is quite an accomplishment to make me laugh after all these years and I'm comforted to know that I can once again look forward to every Saturday morning to hang out with my friends from Bayside.

Summary: It's About Time
Review: I LOVE Saved by the bell!! I watched every episode growing up. I used to have the biggest crush on Zack. Anyway, I'm so glad it's finally on DVD. I can't believe it took soooo long to get on DVD when it took shows like 24 and Six Feet Under only a year. Anyway, I love all the episodes. In response to why is the 1st episode with Slater on the 3rd disk~ If you listen carefully to the beginning, you can hear Zack say, "I'll never forget when Slater first came to Bayside" or something to that effect, implying that this episode is like a flashback, so it is not out of order. Okay, I hope they put the next seasons, including the College Years, Hawaiian Style, and the Wedding in Las Vegas on DVD..and that it's SOON!!! And I hope they have bonuses this time.

Summary: No Extras but plenty of Laughs and Memories
Review: Although disappointed that there are no extras such as cast interviews or bloopers, I am happily surprised that one of my favorite shows growing up is now on DVD. The original airdate of each episode, including title and writing/producing credits, are listed in this set. The intro and the sound of the theme song changes before several of the early episodes. But overall, this set is worth the money if you love the show.

Summary: Does Have A Flaw or Two...However, Still A Great Buy
Review: Finally, somebody decided to put Saved By the Bell on dvd...and its about dang time too. In my opinion, the fact that this is one of the greatest shows of all time makes this set a definite must buy from the start. However, I do know quite a few of you are collecters, thus Ill point out the minor flaws Ive discovered. The security tape will tear the box. However, if you are very very careful, this can be avoided. The other flaw of this set is that there are absolutely no extras whatsoever. A few cast photos, bios, etc, would have been nice, but oh well...its Saved By the Bell, so I personally dont mind. On a final note, THESE EPISODES ARE IN ORDER! One reviewer stated otherwise, but they are indeed in the order in which they aired (which is likely what you'd prefer). The picture quality is good, the sound good, and the overall experience of watching the show without commercials is a real plus. Definitely pick these dvds up and start to pray that Lion's Gate releases the remaining episodes soon!

Summary: FINALL:Y!!!!
Review: I have been watching Saved by the Bell for years now and am so glad it's out on DVD! I hated getting up early to watch it on TBS and now don't have to.

WHoever said the episodes weren't in order never really watched the show! they aren't in order to you because when SLater moved to Bayside it was the beginning of Season 2! If you watched it as much as I did you would know that season 1 wasn't really Saved by the Bell, it was Wake up Miss Bliss with only Zach, Lisa, Screech and Mr Belding and when that show failed, NBC took those characters and put them in a new show called....... SAVED BY THE BELL! When they started showing reruns, they just made Wake up Miss Bliss part of Saved by the Bell.

Review: The Saved by the Bell five set dvd's are a hit. I watch this on TBS all the time. The 9th and the 10th grade episodes are good. The first 8th grade seasons are not included in this one. If you are a fan of Saved by the Bell. Then this is a must. Also avaliable: Britney Spears Stages book and dvd.
