Summary: Once in every lifetime
Review: comes along a series like this that is brilliant. The series defines Britian in the 80's as I grew up over there I can relate to a lot of the going ons. the series revoles around 5 college students Mike the cool person Neil the hippie Rik (with a silent P) the anarchist and metal head Vyvyan. After the Demolition episode the boys move in to a new house there landlord Mr. Balowski is a right lunitic. Alexei Sayle who also plays various other roles is very funny I liked his Brian "shut your mouth" damage character. Although The Young ones only lasted 2 series it WAS the funniest thing since sliced bread. This series remains in my top 3 series of ALL tine. Heres a tid bit for you non english folk the dvd set includes the pilot to a one series called Filthy rich and catflap it aired in or around 1987 in the UK it lasted only one series it was basically the young ones grown up minus Chris Ryan as mike. It was quite a hoot sadly its no longer available to buy Adrian Edmondson was Eddie Catflap Rik Mayall was Richard Rich and Nigel Planer was Ralph Filthy AKA Filthy Ralph. It also includes the first episode of Bottom I think everyone has heard of this by now. All in all a much worthy edition to your dvd collectiom. Enjoy the show folks.

Summary: A BBC must have
Review: All 12 Episodes on DVD...I thought I'd never see the day. Good thing since my VHS tapes are a bit worn out these days. My favorite episodes are Demolition and Interesting. In Demolition, Vyvyan tries everything he can to trash the place before the council arrives to knock the house down. In Interesting, the guys throw a house party and a riot ensues. Let's not forget the eccentric Belowski family played by Alexei Sayle throughout the series...good stuff!

Although Vyvyan is a great character, Ryk is my favorite. To this day it's hilarious watching that character freak out. All four actors can be seen playing various parts in the Black Adder and Absolutely Fabulous series, among many others. For me this is the most hallucinogenic of British comedy classics.

Summary: The best British Comedy ever!
Review: You may remember this show being on MTV in the late 80's or in the later years on Comedy Central , well I am not very into British shows (no offense) but this is one of the best comedies ever! All of these were made from 83 to about 86 , and the stars are the stars of Englands answer to our Staurday Night Live. Ever episode had a musical guest worked into the story. Bands like Moterhead and Madness would play in the living room while the show kept going. Neil is the Hippie , the only one willing to work. Rick is the snob. Viv is the metal head. Mike is the con man. 4 college dropouts who avoid paying the rent while trying to watch porno and avoid being arrested!

Summary: Still hillarious after all these years
Review: At last EVERY single episode of the Young Ones in one awesome box set, complete with Special features to boot. This show is just hillarious! I grew up watching the Young Ones and still to this day 20 years after it was created I get laughs out of it. It was cutting edge and way ahead of it's time. Written by the genius of Ben Elton (Black Adder) and staring amazing comedians like Rik Mayall (Drop Dead Fred) and Adrian Edmondson (bottom) it set the standards not only for England but for the world... check this one out it's a must own!

Review: First rate stuff, and in full content. Yes, gganesh, the "subliminal inserts" belong. I remember stopping my vcr, too. I always looked forward to the musical guests because you could never guess who it might be. Two bad things....the first write-ups for preorders said "features two never before seen episodes" which turned out to be two entirely differant shows (Bottom and Filthy) and there weren't enough Young Ones made.....Try to find some Comic Strip Presents... if you like this.
P.S. Andy Summerland(sic dahozho)[Andy Summers]was the Police's guitarist - Stewart Copeland was the drummer.

Summary: Everything British humor (or is that "humour"?) should be!
Review: This is a fantastic series that alternates between funny at the most base level, to surprisingly smart, witty dialogue warranting laughs all around. There's a reason "JumptheShark.com" has this listed in the "never jumped" category!

Summary: Does that mean we got a video
Review: When i was in early high school this stuff was al the rage. Everybody had a favourite character(mine was neil - maybe that why i still have long hair. Although its slightly dated now everynow and then i feel the need to re visit these. I love the bottom humour and the imagination that it took for some of these episodes. The music definately puts a date to the episodes but i love the part when Motorhead breaks through the wall and start singing killed by death.
