Summary: Works like jewelry on my wife
Review: There are few gifts that I can give my wife that will make her really happy. Jewelry and... well, this. Finally I have found something that is cheap that makes her happy. She had seen every one of these episodes on HBO..but being able to view everyone one of them was just the most amazing thing to her. She went back and forth to other episodes to see every detail of these shows. It was like watching guys check out cars. Amazing stuff! And I even enjoy watching an episode once in a while, it's better than soap operas or lifetime tv...there is some nice scenery to keep men interested as well.

Summary: "Sizziling with Truth!"
Review: I had been hearing about this show, but I had no idea that it was this good! I saw one episode before my family and I moved to Germany. It was the episode wear Charlotte gets hooked on the vibrator. I thought it was great and was sad to find out that I wouldn't see the rest of the series. Then one day, on Saturday, I walked into the video store and there was season two sitting on the shelf, with the cover all battered and worn from rental use. I didn't want to start with season two, so I asked if they had season one. Sure enough, someone was just returning it, in its battered and worn cover from rental, to the store. I rented both and couldn't stop myself from watching.
Now, I'm hooked and hoping my video store has season three. I guess the reason I didn't know that they had the first two was because they stayed rented out so much. I have never seen a show that just sizzled with truth about dating and relationships. Thanks HBO, you have really been churning out some good original shows.

Review: after recommended to me by a friend, i decided to get the series. after watching the first episode, i feel that it is quite boring. however, after reading the rave reviews, i decided to watch the 2nd episode. to my surprise, it got me. the subsequent episodes are so funny and nice. good acting, beautiful people and funny plots are what you can expect in this series. strongly recommended. but there are many nudities and vulgarities in this shows. skip it if you are offended by these.

Summary: Tease Time
Review: The characters on this first season of "Sex in the City" take on lives of their own. The situations are funny with a string of love affairs for all. Carrie's love affair for Mr. Big takes up much of the season with particularly hilarious episodes revolving around her busting in on church, dropping the hymnal from the balcony while she's supposed to be doing stealth snooping on Big's religious habits. Red haired Miranda is my favorite with her edgy cynicism always at hand. While it is a bit tedious to see the opening again and again, I guess that's why God made fast forward! The episode where the girls all watch the couple in the apartment building across the street through their open window doing gymnastic love making is hilarious. This is a great disc, one not to overlook as the show's seasons go by.

Summary: Great landmark episodes
Review: Sex and City has gotten better and better since its debut a few years ago, but it is still fun to go back and revisit the way it all began and realize that this was a wonderful show from day one. The characters all begin to develop quite naturally by the third or fourth episode and the show becomes quite addicting by that point as well. This is a hilarious look on life in New York from four sassy young womens' points of view, but anyone can relate to the problems that come up in their never-dull lives. The DVD features some nice extra features; however the picture is a bit grainy in some scenes for some reason (that's why it did not get a full 5 stars) which is annoying at times. Other than that, a wonderful release. Make sure you check out seasons 2 and 3 as well. Can't wait for the release of season 4!

Summary: Great Way to Beat Summer TV Doldrums
Review: My partner and I love to sit in the evening after the day's work is done and watch a movie or something on TV. Frequently, we've worked and done chores until late in the evening and there isn't time to watch an entire movie. We like to watch whatever TV shows we might have taped. But in the summer, and sometimes even the rest of the year, there just isn't enough on worth watching to come up with even 1/2 of TV watching for a night. We decided to try buying some DVDs of TV shows we thought we'd like.

Sex and the City is perfect for this. We've enjoyed it from the beginning but it actually gets better after the first year because the characters deepen. All the actors are excellent, but I particularly enjoy Kim Catrall whose comic timing is impeccable and who has to be the current master of the comedic doubletake. This show makes me laugh out loud. I definitely knew women just like these when I was young and single and living on the east coast.

The episodes even get funnier when you watch them more than once.

Summary: For those who dont have HBO!
Review: I have only caught a few episodes of this show on HBO when visiting friends, as i do not have HBO myself. But its such a great show, so i had to get this set. Sarah Jessica Parker is just a genius! For anyone who loves this show, or anyone who just wants to see women have fun, this is a great set to own. I plan to get the 2nd and 3rd season soon. :)

Summary: good to see how it all began
Review: Because I don't have cable, I have had to rely on friends' opinions and watching the occasional episode. So when I received this video, I was surprised at how enteraining it was when you know about the show from the beginning. Carrie and the girls have careers but aren't rolling in wealth -- they have to be fabulous on a budget, so people can actually relate.

(Ignore the fact that the actresses playing quintessential single gals are married and pregnant. It's entertainment, not the gospel. Make your own decisions, just enjoy the show!)

Review: The series that answers the question "Why in a city of 1 million single men are there only 400 that deserve serious attention?"

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: One of the most original series on cable
Review: The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is not because of the content of the show. It was the format of every 30 minutes stopping and starting over again...
One set of credits would have been plenty..but 8 times..I started humming the theme song in my sleep. Maybe in the future they could edit it better for DVD viewing.
