Summary: A Late Lover
Review: Okay, due to the fact that I didnt have cable for a while, I missed my newest favorite show,"Sex in the City". When I saw this out on DVD, I knew it had to be part of my collection. It has met up to all my expectations, it is a great DVD collection, and I recommend it to any SITC lover. It is a must have for every womans collection (and mans).

Summary: Warning: This DVD is highly addictive!
Review: Whether you've seen the series before on HBO or not, this DVD is sure to engross you. Finally a show that is right on target with regards to female sexuality! Sex and the City features intelligent, humorous, and (most importantly) realistic dialogue on all sorts of sexuality and romance themes.

The writers of Sex and the City are gutsy enough to tackle controversial yet incredibly relevant topics that urban women really discuss - such as threesomes and masturbation. Amid all of the girl talk, relationships form and dissolve - creating often romantic and bittersweet episodes.

Sarah Jessica Parker is cute as ever, with a smart New Yorky edge. Her co-stars are talented actresses in their own right, and they seem like real women - both in looks and personality.

One small warning - this DVD can be addictive. I stayed up all night watching it the first night after I bought it!

Summary: Even more precious than an Hermes Birkin Bag...
Review: At long last.

Available on video for those of us LOSERS who missed the first season while it was on television. Also for those of you FABULOUS people who watched from the get-go but just want to savour the early episodes again...and again.

The writing is out-of this world. The chemistry between the 4 recurring characters is a joy to behold. And where else does one see topics such as (those of delicate nerves, please stop reading here!) the Rabbit vibrator (don't pretend that you have no idea what I'm talking about, girls) or large paintings depicting Ladies' Nether Regions openly discussed among 4 grown women who are not hookers or actresses who play them?

True, this might not be the kind of fare you wish to watch with your 91 year-old grandmother, so don't take these tapes to watch with the whole family at Thanksgiving. But I have lent my much-loved 3-tape set to all sorts of friends who had never before watched a single episode, and they are all addicted.

Go on. You know you want it.

Summary: Everyone needs a good dose...
Review: Even though I've seen every episode since the show began airing, I had to buy a copy of the first season. The show's approach to sex is so witty and blunt at the same time, you can't help but smile at the thing's its character's do.

Miranda, Carrie, Charlotte, and Samantha make every independent woman proud of who they are. The diversity of the show's characters, from their careers to their beaus to their level of sexual activity leaves everyone someone to identify with. And yes, we've all had a Mr. Big in our lives. I can't say enough good things about the show, and this box-set, so you'll just have to watch it for yourself.

Summary: Finally!
Review: Finally, the first season of the HBO hit has arrived on video! Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Kristen Davis and Chris Noth star in the best series in years!

The three-video set has all the eps from the first series, 4 on each tape.

My favourites are numerous, with 'The Turtle And The Hare', 'The Baby Shower', 'Valley Of The Twenty-Something Guys' and all the rest!

You have to buy this set! (and here's to Season 2 being released soon!)

Summary: Excellent series, poor dvd
Review: This is the best series on television right now. Hands down! I would love to see Seinfeld with a DVD collection of its own! Sure, the content can be quite disturbing to some viewers, but I am not one of those. I am a guy in his 20s who loves sex....and the city!

My only complaint is the video quality. A friend of mine has teh VHS version and sometimes it produces better images than my dvd copy. And its not my machine, this is a complaint I have heard of many times before. At times the images are very grainy, and make it difficult to view some objects in the backround.

You might be saying who cares! Well, they shouldn't bother with the DVD version if they can't get the video quality straighted out. Hopefully for the second season HBO will realize this.

Summary: The Best Show on Television - now on DVD
Review: I don't normally watch a lot of TV, but I came across Sex and the City one night, and I was completely hooked. This is BRILLIANT writing and acting, and the number of awards the four women have won proves that this is being appreciated by the public and critics.

I can just imagine me and my friends sitting around a table having some of the conversations from the show - the way the women go back and forth, their reactions to situations, you name it. I am either nodding in agreement of doubled over laughing, but they are always right on target. I even commented to my boyfriend one night that maybe he shouldn't be watching this, because it was giving away every inner thought that women have during relationships.

They cover single relationships, the pain of breakups, the concerns of married couples, no topic is taboo, and it's all discussed in the open and easy manner that girlfriends who have known each other for years slip into. In fact, I am hoping to get my girlfriends over to watch the DVD with me - I know they'll understand it completely.

If you haven't seen this series, buy it! There's real content here, a full course which gives you thoughts to mull over and savor for months afterwards.

Summary: LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!
Review: If you love the show, this set is for you. If you have never seen it now is your chance. All the fun and witty banter of the first season. I hope HBO continues to release the second and third season (when it winds up). It was so much fun revisiting episodes I had forgotten. Also very sleek packaging, very well done menu. I enjoyed everything about this DVD!

Summary: Sex and the City Rules!
Review: From the creative mind of producer Darren Star (television's "Melrose Place")comes this excellent, witty, and energetic series of four girlfriends living in New York City and exploring the topic that was once exclusively for men when it came to conversation, "sex." Based on the bestselling book by Candace Bushnell, "Sex and the City" revolves around the lives of four young, urban professional in search of the perfect relationship and orgasm.

Sarah Jessica Parker ("Honeymoon in Vegas" ; "LA Story") plays Carrie Bradshaw, a weekly columnist for a local paper, who writes a column regarding sex and relationships in the big city. Kim Catrall ("Masquerade"; "Mannequin") is Samantha, a big time publicist. Cynthia Nixon ("The Out-of-Towners"-1999 version) plays Miranda, a lawyer and Kristin Davis Plays Charlotte, an art gallery curator who is a bit prudish when it comes to sex.

When these four Manhattanites get together, they do cause a commotion in whatever they do, and on this two-disc set, HBO Video treats viewers with the first twelve episodes of the popular new series where anything (and mostly everything) goes.

The episodes which explore such topics as monogamy, threesomes, baby showers, and other topics that normal to the everyday denizen of a large metropolitan mecca such as New York contain the most wittiest scripts and scenarios that I have ever seen on television. Due to the lack of network censors, "Sex and the City" popularity thrives on its' ability to use profanity, sex, nudity, and other adult themes that are taboo on broadcast stations.

The show also contains other delightful character that win will you over as a new fan. Chris Noth (television's "Law & Order") is always excellent in whatever role he takes, and as Carrie's love interest , "Mr. Big", he will swoon you with his charm and elegance. And what would the average heterosexual girl living in the big city be without her gay best friend? In Carrie's case, her best gay friend, Stanford, is her very own Rupert Everett. His tales of dating in the gay scene, in addition to his flamboyance will cause you to both have pity and amusement for this funny sidekick.

While this show will mainly appeal to urban women and gay men, it should be viewed and enjoyed by all. With all the recent network rip-offs airing on television already (e.g. UPN's "Girlfriends"), I can guarantee it would be worth your time and money to purchase this series and enjoy what can be called the most original television comedy in recent years at home.

The DVD edition contains a great motion main menu powered by a flavorful salsa beat, and some of the special features on the set include DVD-Rom web links to related sites, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the series, episode previews, language selection (English and Spanish tracks), and subtitles (English and French subtitles).

I am anxiously awaiting the second season to be released on DVD. I have e-mailed HBO Video, but they haven't replied to my e-mail yet, but if anyone from the company is reading this, please be aware that fans are hungrily awaiting for more seasons to be released on this great format!

Summary: A wonderfully refreshing show
Review: SEX AND THE CITY is not all about sex and orgasms and vibrators. Its about a group of women who are not ashamed to speak their mind. They want to stand up and be counted as four women who can say that they don't care what the world thinks.

The series is quite tame (ever see some of those tacky foreign films) and it does not deserve its Australian rating of MA (Mature Audiences 15 years and over).

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall deserved the Golden Globes this year.

Also of note are Cynthia Nixon and Chris Noth.
