Review: In short- the funniest show to ever air on American television. Great animation, great voice work by the actors and packed with so many little jokes and details you will find that these stories never get stale. And dare I say it? Much better than The Simpsons. By light years.

Review: I'm in USA, but I own the PAL / European discs of both seasons 3 and 4 and they are well worth it. I'm a little disappointed that I can't get repeat play to work for the PLAY ALL option.
The quality is excellent and the extras are fun. No commercials and plenty of robots - just the way I like it. If you don't have a region-free dvd player, you'll have to wait until March 2004.

Review: This latest set of Futurama contains some of the best episodes of the series. With 22 episodes, the 3rd production run was the longest the show ever saw. Here's a quick rundown of the 3ACV episodes:01: Amazon Women In The Mood - Kif, Amy, Leela, Bender, Fry, and Zapp get stuck on a planet of giant, man-hating women.
02: Parasites Lost - After eating a truck stop sandwich, Fry becomes infested with parasites that actually help him.
03: A Tale Of Two Santas - Bender, Fry, and Leela freeze the evil Santa and try to get people to like Christmas again by replacing Santa with Bender.
04: The Luck Of The Fryrish - Fry tries to find his lucky seven-leaf clover he left in his old safe, only to find his brother stole it, and his identity.
05: The Bird-Bot Of Ice-Catraz - While Leela protests against transporting dangerous cargo to Pluto, Bender crashes the ship and believes he's a penguin.
06: Bendless Love - After getting a job to fulfill his bending needs, Bender meets up with Flexo. And fall in love with Flexo's ex, Anglelyne.
07: The Day The Earth Stood Stupid - Giant brains attack Earth, and its up to Fry to save the world with his "special" mind.
08: That's Lobstertainment! - Zoidberg tries to get help from his uncle, the legendary Harold Zoid, to get better at comedy.
09: The Cyber House Rules - Leela gets a second eye while Bender adopts a bunch of orphans as a scam to get money.

11: Insane In The Mainframe - After inadvertantly being involved in a crime with Bender's friend, Fry and Bender get sent to an insane asylum for robots; a place Fry doesn't belong.
12: The Route Of All Evil - Cubert and Dwight start a paper delivery business to try to out do their fathers, Prof. Farnsworth and Hermes.
13: Bendin' In The Wind - After becoming a disabled robot, Bender goes on tour with Beck and becomes an inspiration to broken robots everywhere.
14: Time Keeps On Slippin' - The Planet Express crew accidentally causes disturbances in time, causing time to skip forward randomly.
15: I Dated A Robot - After downloading a Lucy Liu-bot, Fry becomes obsessed with it, and the crew finds out that celebrities have been kidnapped to provide this service.
16: A Leela Of Her Own - Leela becomes the first woman Blernsball player. The only problem is, she sucks and isn't the best rolemodel.
17: A Pharaoh To Remember - Bender realizes he won't be remembered once he's gone, so he becomes Pharaoh on a distant planet in an effort to get recognition.
18: Anthology Of Interest II - The crew asks the what-if machine three more questions, with a story for each.
19: Roswell That Ends Well - The crew gets sent back in time to 1947 and it turns out that they were the aliens who landed at Roswell.
20: Godfellas - Bender gets launched into space and becomes a home for tiny people, becoming God to them.
21: Futurestock - A mysterious guy from the past gets elected as the new president of Planet Express and tries to make the company better.
22: 30% Iron Chef - After finding the crew doesn't like his cooking, Bender runs off and gets help from legendary chef Helmut Spargel and challenges Elzar on the Iron Cook show. Overall, this set contains both the best and worst of Futurama. The good greatly outweighs the bad. If you are a fan of the show, don't think twice about buying it.

Summary: Futurama, Back for a third serving!
Review: If you're like me and think that the cancellation of this show was abominable you will definently buy this the day it comes out. Fox seems to pull off any cartoon show that doesn't gain the success that Simpsons had. Family Guy and Futurama was just a few great animated series that were yanked off the air. Family Guy through its DVD sales now has a chance to get back on the air. And hopefully Futurama will too if DVD sales go well for the Futurama TV Series. Well, that's my hope anyway. Futurama Season 3 is home to some of the best episodes in the entire Futurama series. There are 16 episodes in all and bring back some of our favourite characters like Zap Brannigan and Kif. To me this was Futurama's peak series. The next few seasons don't seem to measure up to series 1-3. But that is just my opinion. Here are the episodes and what each is about: The Honking - A curse turns Bender into a were-car.
War is the H-Word - Bender, Fry and Leela join the military where their leader is Zapp Brannigan.
The Cryonic Woman - Fry and Bender get themselves and Leela fired.
A Tale of Two Santas - The evil Santa Claus robot is back.
Parasites Lost - Fry eats a sandwich infected with intelligent worms, causing Leela to fall in love with him.
Amazon Women in the Mood - The ship crashes on Amazonia, where the women worship a Femcomputer and don't like men.
Bendless Love - Bender is bending things while sleep-walking, so he joins a Bending Factory.
The Day The Earth Stood Stupid - The people on Earth are made stupid.
Thats Lobstertainment! - Zoidberg persuades his uncle to make a film with Calculon.
Birdbot of Ice-Catraz - Leela refuses to transport dangerous cargo past the penguin refuge on Pluto.
Luck of the Fryish - Fry goes looking for his lucky seven leaf clover.
The Cyber House Rules - Leela gets a second eye and Bender adopts some orphans.

All in all, this series is for the die hard futurama fans who only hope that one day, one day, Futurama will be back on the air to create more 'ahead of the time' episodes ;)

Review: with "time keeps on slipping", "luck of the fryrish" and the episode where fry gets worms in this one, its the best one so far. has my three all time favorite episodes. a must have!

Summary: Extreme Ups and Downs-Yet a Definite Must-Buy
Review: Any kind of Futurama is going to be funny and creative, but every season has its own strengths and weaknesses. For example, the first two seasons (especially the second) are the most consistent in quality, while the last two fluctuate between simply average and all-time greats. The last two seasons also introduce some emotional subplots that the were missing in the earlier episodes, which developes the characters very well. As I said earlier, Volume Three has some extreme ups and downs. There are the absolute stinkers, such as Lobstertainment, Route of all Evil, and Future Stock, and also some very average ones. Canceling this out, however, and making the season awesome, are some of the best episodes the series have ever seen. "Parasites Lost" (near perfect) and "Rosewell that Ends Well" (an emmy winner) are easily in the Top 5 Futurama episodes ever. Other greats include the emotional fan-favorite "Luck of the Fryrish," Emmy-nominated "Amazon Women in the Mood," and the very funny "Birdbot of Icecatraz," "Tale of Two Santas," "Anthology of Interest Two," "Time Keeps on Slipping," and "30% Iron Chef." Although the bad episodes are annoying, the great ones are truly great, and make Volume Three a fantastic buy. Discs One and Four in the collection contain most of these episodes, so you can organize it that way. This collection is definitely recommended, but get ready for the ups and downs.

Summary: A Tough Review
Review: I loved Futurama. It's cancellation was likely one of the few I actually cared about. This review is a tough one, though. On one hand Futurama hit some peaks in this season. Some of the episodes match anything The Simpsons could through at them, notably the award winning Roswell That Ends Well. Other stellar episodes include Fry becoming intelligent via parasites, a sentimental Fry learning how his brother dealt with his diesappearance, and the superior intellect of the Harlem Globetrotters. There are some downers, though. Another Zoidberg episode showcases why he's hysterical for one liners yet not outstanding to wrap an episode around. The same with Bender - though I tend to find him the funniest character, and some of the Bender episodes are classics, here we have some that show why Bender is often funniest as an addition to a scene rather than the scene as a whole. Overall you'll laugh very hard at this series, as long as you're a fan of the brand of humor found in shows such as The Simpsons, Malcom in the Middle and News Radio. Contrary to many opinions you needn't be a Sci-Fi fan (I loathe the stuff myself), you simply need a working knowledge of pop culture. This season falls flat at times, and lacks the overall consistency of the prior seasons (yet is more consistent than Season 4), but has peaks higher than all the prior seasons. Worth owning and watching repeatedly. Remember to watch those commentaries, too, they tend to be a bit crazy and very rewarding.

Summary: What's missing, what works
Review: I bought this DVD set with much excitement - the funniest Futurama episodes are classics of bizarre pathos, strange slapstick, and madcap plotting (I'm particularly a fan of alien warlord Morbo's evening newscast). Still, I wondered for a while what it was missing to keep Futurama from being as good as The Simpsons, and I think it's this: the humor's there, but the characters are fairly inconsequential. With the possible exception of tough & doughy one-eyed Leela, and hilarious showpony Zap Brannigan, it's hard to muster up any investment for anyone onscreen - hell, the running joke with Zoidberg is that no one cares about what happens to him. That means that quite often the show's setups are better than their plots - you may be more inclined to watch the anonymous monotone robots tell jokes than than get back to the plot of, say, Bender hanging out with Beck. For example, it's probably a bad sign that the Oscars and Calculon out-joke Zoidberg and his uncle 3:1 in "That's Lobstertainment" - it's because Futurama excells in social satire and has one of the best senses of humor on television, they're just missing a central reason to care. That makes Futurama endlessly entertaining, but without much of a center.

Summary: Not the best episodes- but jammed pack with extras
Review: I really enjoy Futurama. I have all the DVD sets and this an alright set. Commentaries on every episode which are pretty intersesting to listen to, tons of deleted scenes for almost all of the episodes, animatics and storyboards and a few easter eggs. But unfortunatly, this one contains some of the worst episodes (Bendin in the wind, for example) But it also contains some of the best episodes in the series (Amazon women in the mood, roswell that ends well). So I would reccomend this to any Futurama fan, it is pretty entertaining.
