Summary: disregard everything Mac Maven says...this show rox
Review: this is by far funniest show i have ever watched. i think Mac Maven obviously lacks the intelligence to pick up any of the jokes. i think it is wrong to make a bad review of such a great show its almost like there are 3 or even more tiers of jokes. the first tier, the one mac maven is basing his whole review of crap on is bathroom type humor; fart jokes, etc. there is intelligence weaved in and out of every part of an episode. i think seth mcFarlane is a genius. the upper "tiers" have intelligent humor, clever twists, and referrences to old shows. it was a sin to cancel that show. WE NEED IT BACK...

Summary: mac_maven is a moron
Review: I really feel bad for people like mac_maven, because they're obviously too stupid to get the sophisticated humor of a show like this. The beauty of Family Guy is that it has something to appeal to everyone--there are the basic fart jokes, yes, but there are also incredibly intelligent jokes that fly over the head of much of the populace, leaving these idiots to assume that because they don't get the intelligent references on this show, it must only be a low-brow show with no redeeming social value. Family Guy is probably the smartest show I've ever seen on television--not only does it continually make some of the most intelligent jokes I've ever heard in this medium, but it doesn't get hung up on who will get them. It's a show that doesn't care whether or not you know it's smarter than you. mac_maven, it is definitely smarter than you.

Summary: The Show Was Cancelled. . .
Review: . . .because it was a poor excuse for comedy. Unlike others, I felt there was very little redeeming value to Family Guy. I can sit through an entire episode and not have the urge to laugh -- not even once. And that speaks very poorly for the quality of said show. The writers seemingly tried too hard to be irreverent, and the product they produced could easily be equated with what the family dog, Brian, left on the rug. Often the writers would resort to jokes about rabbis which not only bordered on antisemitic but were so unfunny one would have to wonder whether they were purposely trying to write crap. If you're looking for a crude, irreverent, yet funny animated comedy turn to South Park. Or, better yet, skip directly to the most creative, well written and produced animated comedies since The Simpsons, Futurama and King of the Hill. Remember, you can easily tune to Cartoon Network's Adult Swim if you're craving the dismal, dubious comedy of Family Guy.

Summary: Great comedy with edge but not too much
Review: This show is one of the best I've ever watched. Reviews have stated before that its a middle point of the simpsons and south park.

The comedy is well scripted and has that edge that makes it even better. Sometimes you shake your head becuase a scene is inappropriate but it never goes to offensive. Once you get to know the characters everything is just funny. You can sit there and laugh at even average funny stuff because the show is so good. 100 percent recommended.

Summary: Best cartoon show ever!!!!
Review: 1. What are the two episodes per disk people talking about?
There's 5 to 7 on all of them.

2. Simpson's folks - there is no comparison.
The two shows are too different.
This is not a copy; its more creative and hard edged.
The Simpson's is more polished; but Family Guy is
funnier. (Sorry, its the truth.)

3. For a 2 1/2 season show; I'll let DVD sales
and Cartoon Network ratings speak for me.
It has been reported in TV Guide that Adult Swim
is beating the ratings of Letterman, Leno and Kilborn
(each) in 18 to 34 males. (Amazing)

4. I watch a lot of TV but I never knew Family Guy existed
until it was already cancelled and they were showing
the last episodes on Thursday. (2 hour blocks)
If I didn't know about it; I doubt most others did.
So its ratings were actually amazing.

5. DAMN FOX TO HELL!!!

Summary: The Best Cartoon Comedy To Date!
Review: Family is the best series i have seen. And i mean that! I have seen every episode in the series multiple times and i know own the season 2 dvd. I have watched this thing over and over and the laughs keep on coming. The dvd is Amazing and has a lot of featurettes. Theres some behind the scenes studio footage. Interviews and commentarys on a few episodes. Sadly there are not many commentarries only about 2 per disc and there are 3 discs included. You just cant go wrong with familily guy. Im many ways i think it even surpasses the simpsons! And thats a tough thing to do!

Summary: The best TV show ever!
Review: This was hours of pleasureful laughs. Never before have I had to cover all my furniture with plastic before watching a TV show. It's a laugh until you cry show, that has appeal for many ages. The lovable main character Peter Griffin, does and says everything that every man wishes he could, but never actually follow through with. With witty lines and crazy plots, it keeps you wanting more. Family guy is the most healthy addiction this world has to offer.

Summary: Oh, what could've been...
Review: Before those geniuses at FOX pulled the plug on this brilliant TV show, there was Season 3. Many shows seem to begin fizzling out during their third season (if they even make it that far). Not Family Guy. If anything, the episodes only got better, funnier, faster, sharper, less PC, and more solid.

Take, for instance, season three's two-part opener where Brian gets addicted to [drugs] and goes to rehab, and then goes to Los Angeles to find himself. This is so well-written, it's almost as good as a movie. (Hey, it definitely beats out anything "Friends" ever came up with.) Everything from causing mischief with the world's most powerful people, to Lois going ape-poopy over a lack of paper towels to clean up a holiday mess...it's all here on this lovely three-disc set. If you liked the first set...you'll like this one too. Hell, maybe even more.

On one hand (probably more so), I'm really [ticked] that they cancelled this show in its prime. On another, I'm just grateful we ever had this show at all. You know, shows like this only come along once in a great while. Like The Simpsons before it. It was already a thousand times better than 99% of what was/is on TV. Just think how it would've gotten had those einsteins at FOX left it alone.

We were lucky there was a family guy. We were lucky there was a man who positively could do all the things that made (and still make) us laugh and cry. He was a family guy.

Recommended.
