Summary: Voyager is good, but not in this season
Review: I'm a big fan of Voyager and I think it's the best of the Star treks; however, it only got good after one or two seasons of fans complaining about how much it sucked. This season gave Voyager a bad reputation that it REALLY had to work hard to overcome. For example, if I'm not mistaken, this season contains the episode where the ship escapes through a "hole" in some object's gravity well. Anyone who is familiar with basic Newtonian physics should realize that this concept is so colossally stupid, it's a miracle that this show ever got the thumbs-up from KBHK (now UPN). The acting was pretty horrible, too. And in the season's gripping cliffhanger finale, Tuvok helps bridge the gap between the Maquis and the rest of the crew by berating the Maquis for their attire, and the ship is threatened by none other than Neelix's bad cooking. While in later seasons Neelix and his questionable culinary skills would prove time and again to be life-threatening for the crew, such stupid plot devices were never used for finales. I guess the writers learned their lesson.Seasons 3-7 of Voyager are awesome. Season 1 isn't.

Review: Finally ! I'll get to see Star Trek Voyager !!! Local cable did not offer a UPN or FOX channel while Voyager was being aired. ABC station carried the 1st 5 episodes and then dropped it. This will be great ! Can watch ST Enterprise and VOYAGER..like 2 new ST shows at same time ! Now just hope that ENTERPRISE will be released in a few years !

Summary: Amazing Idea + Amazing Delivery = Amazing Series
Review: In late 1993, prior to the beginning of what would become Star Trek: The Next Generation's last season, Rick Berman was given a phone call from Paramount Studios to begin work on a new Star Trek television series.
However, this series would be unlike any previous created version. The studio had decided that this show would be the first creation for the United Paramount Network (later to become UPN or Paramount Network), as the show's tagline stated, it simply "was the show that launched a network".
Early on, Berman decided that not only would he executive produce, but he would share that role with Jeri Taylor and Michael Piller who were primarily running The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine respectively, while Berman was creating Star Trek: Generations. As the three met in secret meetings for months, they eventually decided on a rich cast of characters in a unique setting, Star Trek was truly going into the unknown, even moreso than in The Original Series, to the complete other end of the galaxy (wonder why we never encountered the question "What does God need with a Starship" on this show), and created a rich environment.
The first season of this show was amazingly written, and it by far is the most pollished Star Trek debut to date. Yes, this series is not your perfect modern drama, if you want that, go to the store and pick up Deep Space Nine. yes this show does not have the big recognition that others want, if you want that, go to the store and pick up the original or TNG. However, if you want an amazingly pollished, written, acted show with characters that had an unbelieveable chemistry right from the beginning, (unlike Deep Space Nine which in time did become the best acted series) and with this season specifically, will show to you contemporary issues, but not preach or put blame upon you, then I wholeheardedly recommend Star Trek: Voyager's first season. Pick up the first, second,third, fourth, and seventh for sure as they come out, and if you find you like them you may want five and six, five especially was amazingly written at times, but has several obvious flounders of the writing staff trying to figure out what to do. As for the first season, you won't be dissapointed.

Review: ...i'll start off by saying that i love this series and kate mulgrew as kathryn janeway...she indeed is my favorite captain (although shatner and stewart are no slouches either)...and the dvd set (plus bonus features) look great...however, all the wonderful character developemnet that seemed to be finally coming together around the second and third season, fell apart when 7 of 9 showed up...not that jeri ryan was bad, but when 7 out of 9 shows are about the borg, and/or the blond borg herself, let's face it...the borg were always boring to start with, and then it seemed like the whole crew was just obsessed about her storyline...still, with an excellent 'resume' behind them, the franchise didn't lose a step with voyager, and allowed every character to remain true to themselves, even if they had very little time to show it...but that's why trek continues, and will continue, it seems, forever...

Summary: Please Buy Firefly Instead
Review: Voyager was the beginning of the long slow death of the Star Trek "Franchise." It's sad to me that a human and intelligent show like Firefly will only run fourteen shows, while Star Trek is allowed to fester forever, each new show lessening the greatness of superior predecessors. There is little character growth, no dramatic tension, no sense of adventure in Voyager. The producers admitted this with the later addition of 7 of 9. Come on, you know, and I know, what this character was for. She's later reborn as T'Pol. Star Trek has become overproduced pablum. There is no life in it. I know I've offended many of you by saying this. I'm sorry. Buy Firefly if you haven't, and it'll make you feel better. Thank you.

Summary: VOYAGER DVD's YEAR OF 2K4
Review: VOYAGER is, by far the best Star Trek ever. I grew up on watching TNG and DS9, but in 1995, VOYAGER began its legacy. The unique story, and interesting characters is where VOYAGER shines the most. The best thing about VOYAGER, however is that all the characters, (and I mean all of them) Evolve or change drasticly from the begginning to end. I simply love this show, I think it is the best Sci Fi show of all time and I cant wait for the DVD of season one, to seven. As for the DVD special Features...it looks like paramount is improving with every Star Trek set they come out with. This set has new and old interveiws, several documentaries (Real Science sounds particualrily interesting) even footage from their first choice as Captain Kathryn Janeway, Genevieve Bujold. Which will also be very interesting. VOYAGER came out right when the internet was becoming increasingly popular, so website desinger and producer of the show: Marc Wade, explains and shows how an interactive VOYAGER website was created to help launch the series. On Location with the kazon has some interesting behind the scenes look at the kazons in the pilot episode. And finally RED ALERT!: Visual Effects season one has an interesting look at all the special effects done on the first season. So mark FEB 24th on your calanders fellow fans of VOYAGER, and get ready for the best Trek series to launch on DVD. And by the way, i noticed that when they first come out, the TNG and DS9 DVDs came packaged with an extra disc, most likely there will be one for the VOYAGER ones, so look out for that when buying the product. VOYAGER Rules!

Summary: Short season mucho bucks
Review: I have the same complaint about Voyage most folks have; the first season had some interesting episodes but $100.00 for 16 episodes seems a bit steep. The writing during season one took a dive about midway through the show. I stuck with it through season 5 and intermittantly caught season 6. I hate to say it but unless nothing else was on, I pretty much had given up by the conclusion of the series. The concept isn't bad nor are the actors. It's the execution that's wanting. Trek had fallen into a formula and that formula, despite interesting story arcs, made the series predictable. The best acting in the world and the best optical effects can't save a show suffering from predictability syndrome. Now if they had killed characters off and taken more risks after season three, the series might have held my attention.

Summary: Started out great, then got bad
Review: I definitely recommend purchasing the first few seasons of VOYAGER. The early episodes are fun, especially those involving Sesk and the Kazon. The Vidiians are also a great villian and the show was not as "preachy" as it got in later seasons. The only downside to the show is the Doc and Neelix (2 hammy actors in the vain of Data). I'm looking forward to Genvieve Bujold's deleted scenes as the captain. That alone is worth the purchase price. Enjoy VOYAGER when it was fun and before it became the 7 of 9 show.

Summary: Best Show EVER!!!!!!!
Review: I know that most people didn't like Voyager *my step mom* but it really was a great series. Even though Gene Roddenberry wasn't involved, I think it held up his ideas of the future perfectly. "To seek out new life and new civilizations..." these words were evident in every last episode of Voyager. A lot of people thought that the idea of a starship lost on the other side of the galaxy was too far off from the "Star Trek theme" but I think it was dead on. The series starts off with Captain Janeway taking out Starfleet's most advanced starship, the U.S.S. Voyager, into the Badlands in search of a lost Maquis ship and ends up lost in the Delta Quadrant. Courtesy of the Caretaker, who then obducts a member from each crew; B'Elanna Torres the half-Klingon Maquis, and Harry Kim, Voyager's Ops officer. They are then led to a planet that is home to a race called the Ocampa where they meet Kes and the Kazon Ogla for the first time. Their guide in this strange new area of space is the talkative and resourceful Talaxian, Neelix. After destroying the Caretakers array to protect the Ocampa from the Kazon, Janeway and her crew of Starfleet and Maquis personnel, set out to make their way home. The journey will take 75 years at top speed, as they are 70,000 light-years from home. The two crews must work together along with Kes and Neelix to find a way home and never give up hope of reaching it.

Summary: Star Trek:Voyager The series that launched a network.
Review: Despite what others have said in their so called negative reviews... I loved Star Trek Voyager. If any trek series is an utter failure it is 'Star Trek':Enterprise that is currently airing. Voyager was more like 'Star Trek' than DS9 was. It reminded me a lot of the original Star Trek series. It also was the show that launched the UPN network from Paramount. I agree the price could be much better than what it is being offered as. I think that perhaps fifty to sixty dollars would have been a better price for the mere 16 episodes they had for a 1st season. The one episode I cannot wait to view again is the episode that occured during the 30th anniversary of Star Trek. It took place on the U.S.S. Excelsior with Captain Sulu. It was a direct take from the begining of the movie 'Star Trek:6 The Undiscovered Country'. It was great to see George Takei in command of the Excelsior. If you are a real Star Trek fan, and want to see another best in the Star Trek universe then you cannot miss getting the Voyager series on DVD!
There is so little in Trek merchandise out there in stores now. It's not like when Voyager, TNG, and DS9 had tons of merchandise and a whole aisle in Toys R Us dedicated to it. Now you cannot walk into a store and find much of Trek merchandise like you use to. You can find a few 'Art Asylum' toys from Enterprise, and the classic Trek. You can wait until each August to find at least 3 new HallMark ornaments for Christmas... But other then that the Trek Franchise is slipping away. I feel a lot of it has to do with Rick Berman's hands on the franchise. He has been running it into the ground for about 3 years now. Soon... I fear Star Trek will fade away from being in stores... and the fans will be back in the same boat they were in during the 70's when you could only find some sort of merchandise at conventions only, or from a mail order catalog (But now there is the internet to satisfy that craving). So ignore all of the overly intellectual people that down grade the Voyager series. It is by far the last and best that came from the Star Trek franchise. If you miss out on it... Then it will be your loss. It is the last thing that was the closest (aside from TNG) to Gene RoddenBerry's dream... That man will survive... There will be a future! We will work together and the earth's people of all races will be at peace and work together as one equal society. Thank you for reading this review.
