Summary: Superb
Review: An amazing series, the depth of the characterisation of the players is outstanding.
For my money the best episode in the entire season was 'Point of View', where again we are dealing with an alternate reality scenario that we glimpsed in the latter part of the first season, and another Samatha Carter and Major Charles Kawoloski. It is an episode charged with pathos, in which one can truly realise the excellent quality of the cast. The advantage of the DVD is never better realised, as one can replay tense moments and scenes.
Alas, there is no provinence for a continued link to this alternate reality, I miss Kawolski, but I guess one universe at a time is enough to explore.

Summary: We love it!
Review: As the quality of TV shows kept going downhill, my family and I decided we no longer wanted to partake in television so we threw it out. When DVDs came into being, we built a computer with a DVD player so we could watch some of our favorite movies. One year for Christmas a relative gave us the first DVD disk for SG-1 Season 1, and we were hooked!

Hubby and I've been sci-fi buffs since the original Star Trek first came out when we were small kids, and SG-1 provides great, sci-fi entertainment that our entire family can enjoy, watching over and over again! Oh, for cryin' out loud, thank you, MGM!! We look forward to this and every other season of SG-1 on DVD!

Summary: What sets SG-1 apart from other sci-fi series...
Review: As the title says, what sets Stargate SG-1 apart from other sci-fi series is that it takes place in the here and now. And that Earth is under direct threat from the false Gods, the Goa'uld. No other series does this to the extent that SG-1 does. Sure, Star Trek had the Borg and Dominion threats, and X-Files had its alien phenomenon of the week, but in SG-1 there is always a constant threat from at least one or more Goa'uld System Lords.

In Season 3, of which I'm not all that familiar with, the main threat is from a Goa'uld System Lord known as Sokar which is basically Satan re-incarnated. Sokar's first appearance came in Season 2's episode "The Serpent's Song" in which we learn that our old Goa'uld enemy, Apophis, is being sought out by Sokar. Sokar wishes to torture and finally kill Apophis.

From what I've read about Season 3 on other message boards, it is considered to be one of SG-1's best seasons. That must be saying something because I thought Season 2 was great. Like I said above, I'm not all that familiar with Season 3, because I missed it in syndication, but I'm a little more familiar with Season 4. However by late June, I'll be more than familiar with Season 3 as it finds a place on my shelf next to my other two season sets of Stargate SG-1.

So like I and others have said, if you like good writing, and excellent character development, and mega cool, but realistic special effects in a sci-fi series, be sure to pick up Stargate SG-1 Season 3 on DVD. And if you haven't gotten Season 1 and 2 yet, be sure and get those, because SG-1 is one of the most serialized series on TV since StarTrek: DS9 and Babylon 5. Hurry up too, because on September 2nd, Season 4 will be released as well. Season 4 is very cool too because it introduces and all new kind of enemy that resembles what some other shows have used. (*hint* 1997's "Lost in Space" film, and the 1984 film "Runaway")

Summary: Stargate SG-1 Season 3
Review: Clearly it has been worth the wait. Of the early seasons of Stargate, season 3 stands out as the best. I have been eagerly awaiting season 3's release and have been happy to report that I have not been dissapointed.

To all sci-fi fans who have not entered the Stargate universe, take the plunge and you will be both fascinated and entertained.

Seasons 1 and 2 are a must. Also season 4 is just around the corner in September.

Summary: Season 3
Review: Finally, it's almost here! Since my brother showed me the 1st season, I fell in love with the show. Unfortunately, I missed the first one or two discs of Season 3 on T.V. However, I can tell you this: Season 3 is definitely better than the previous! While Season 1 basically revolved around Apothis, with a bit of Hathor and So'car (or however you spell it). Season 2 broadened the horizons with Horus and introduced the Azguard. Season 3, however, adds more enemies, definitely more So'car and another Goa'uld (I can't say or it'll spoil it!) There's also a definite change in graphics (they get better). I HATE the cliffhanger to the end, but that's only because I have to wait another year or something until the end comes out, which I also missed! This is a real investment for your money, trust me!!

Summary: SG1 Rocks
Review: Great set of DVD's. They did of great job of putting together all the material into an attactive and consistant presentation. I have a 300 DVD changer with a visual contents catalog. This is one of the few DVD's that provide the catalog data for my player so I dont have to enter it manually. Always a plus. The only thing I dont like is the fact that the have the TV intro attached to the front of each episode. They should have only put on the first in my opinion. Overall I am very pleased with this DVD set.

Summary: Excellent Science-Fiction at a Terrific Price
Review: Having bot the first season set on a whim, I am now an unabashed fan of Stargate SG-1 and highly recommend the series. The emphasis is usually on action and the acting, special effects, and writing is first-rate and fast paced, with the series being a master at picking up various threads from previous episodes to ensure continuity and interest. Richard Dean Anderson is the clear starpower here, with wisecracks a plenty, though the primary characters are all nicely done. This science-fiction series differs from most because the action takes place in our time, so contemporary references can be woven into the storylines with great impact. Any more detail would spoil the fun, and I would list an episode guide but will instead refer you to the gateworld net website which contains an extensive tutorial on the entire series, along with detailed episode guides.

Summary: I JUST love Stargate SG-1.
Review: I can't help myself. I just love this show. Okay, so the scientific basis is suspect, and the plots are constantly recycling, but the visuals are fun, and the characters are admirable. Included in this set is a very funny interview with Richard Dean Anderson. If you loved Seasons One and Two, you'll love Season Three as well (Season Four is in my shopping cart right now).

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I could probably give a better rating if I was able to view any of it. As with SG-1 Season 2 box set, none of the episodes will play although all the special features can be viewed with no problem. Has anyone else had this problem?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Still a great show!
Review: I had to pick this up after the ending of Season 2 boxed set.

This as the others have said is a worthwhile addition to the collection.

The stories are good and you get more of the previous characters: The Azgard, the Toland, the unas(sp), The Nox.

I expecially liked the story with the Toland and the Crystal skull.

My wife is a pseudo scifi ban but she is getting to like this series.

The finale of this season is good and made me order Season 4!
