Summary: THE TITLE SAYS IT ALL
Review: The 8th installment in the successful movie series. The 2nd outing for 'THE NEXT GENERTATION' cast. The 1st appearance of 'THE BORG' race. The 1st meeting between 'FEDERATION' officers and 'ZEFRAM COCHRANE'. All these qualities make for yet ANOTHER box office successful for the crew of the 'ENTERPRISE'.

Summary: Best Star Trek film yet - great action, very good plot
Review: This is by far the best Star Trek film yet. The plot was well developed. The Borg are one of the best enemies from the TNG series and translated well into the film. A few very good one liners, excellent action/effects. A must have even if you're not a Star Trek fan.

Summary: Great & Entertaining
Review: Hey, it's an action packed Trek movie. Not so much action as Star Trek II(Wrath of Kahn), but this is far more better than it's sequel, Insurrection, which I dozed two times during the film. You can skip Insurrection, but First Contact is a must see.

Review: I like Star Trek - and this one's the best! My personal list goes like this:First Contact - The Voyage Home - The Undiscovered Country - The Motion Picture - The Wrath of Khan - The Search for Mr. Spock^- Insurrection - Generations - The Final Frontier First Conntact wins because it is the most action-packed but still is Star Trek, you get insider jokes, you get the characters ... just everything's great here! The only exception: Give the women of the Enterprise a little bit more room to act, ok? James Cromwell, Alice Krige & Alfre Woodward are the best supporting Star-Trek-actors ever...!

Summary: The Borg is a great story line
Review: I watched this movie and was thrilled how they weaved the borg conquering the world with the "First Contact" ( I will not tell you what that is until you see the movie). Jean Luc is great and while I usually am only a Star Trek purist (only watch the originals), this was worthy of a watch. However, I cannot give any Star Trek movie that is without the original cast more than 4 stars. Kevin

Summary: A DARN GOOD MOVIE ESPECIALLY IN THIS DAY AND AGE
Review: The eighth installment in the Trek franchise is arguably the best if not tied with 2. The only disappointment is the battle sequence with the Borg cube---it could have been longer. This film shows Patrick Stewart at his prime. No question about it, the man and his crew know how to act. And sorry Loser Shatner fan, but old wrinkled Bill boy should've gone after Trek 6 and allowed Stewart to do Trek 7 alone. If I were to rate this 1-100 so I could get as detailed as possible Id give it a 91. It was great but not perfect. Never-the-less it was far better than JAR JAR EPISODE 1.

Summary: Star Trek, the Next Generation finally makes a mark!
Review: This film marked a new dimension in Star Trek. The directing was unique, done extrememly well by Frakes in his debut. It is filmed more like classic horror film than a sci fi adventure, but keeps real with Star Trek. Wrath of Kahn was the best strategy film, The Voyage Home was the best in hilarity, and this is the best in suspense, action, and everything else. This is one of the series best, and has anyone else noticed how hott Dr. Crusher is?

Summary: A non stop thrill ride, up there with the best of them.
Review: First Contact was thrilling. The gigantic pullback shot out of Picard's eye at the beginning is magnificent. It makes you feel as though you're falling or floating. The ILM effects are top line, although the battle sequence in the film was far too short. The best shot of the film was the Enterprise eclipsing the sun. This story is an excellent followup to the classic episode The Best of Both Worlds. (Although, I personally thought the episode was better). Storywise, First Contact is a little divided. The scenes that took place on the ship were spot on, but the earthbound part is a bit irritating. also, there were not many scenes of the Enterprise herself doing anything, and the film gets a bit closed in at times. The only real drawback to the film is the plot that is holier than swiss cheese. There are several plot points that are just far too coincidental (like the time travel bit, and the fact that the Borg manage to get onto the ship so easily). And the writers seemed undecided on the number of decks that Enterprise has. Is it 24, or 26? And what is sickbay doing on deck 16 in the engineering section? These plot mistakes clutter up the otherwise superb story. Still, this one never fails to impress, but more than any other Trek film, this one is best viewed in a theatre.

Review: I love Star Trek movies, but in my opinion, has the title says, it's not the best of the "Trek collection". Only surpassed by the first one, the 1st Contact is truly A MASTER PEACE, well at least in SPECIAL EFECTS...
