Rating: Summary: First video that my kid loves Review: HiMy son has almost 2 years old and, because this movie, loves blue's clues program , no other character (barney, teletubies, etc..) has caused that impact (he just sees blue, no other program). Because the movie he started to look the TV show, but the movie is still his favorite, it has excellent music ( I must admit I like it) and it has a good plot. My wife and I had seen this movie zillions of times (of course with our son) but, We still like it (we enjoy how to son laugh ans sing). I recommend it..... and I hope soon there will be a Blues clues 2. Hope it helps
Rating: Summary: Very funny and a little sad Review: My 17 month-old loves Blue, and he loves catchy music, so this movie really captures his interest. As a parent, I am glad we bought this movie because it is more sophisticated and less hokey than a lot of children's programs (i.e., Teletubbies and Barney) and so easier to watch over and over again, but it is still on a level that my young son can enjoy. The score is very well written, and the plot is interesting and funny (for adults, at least; my son couldn't care less about the plot, he just likes the music and Blue's very expressive ears). The one and only issue I have with this movie is that the plot includes several rather sad turns of events. At some point, everyone seems to be disappointed about something, or have their feelings hurt, or be party to a misunderstanding. Of course, that just makes it that much happier when everything works out in the end. And, for older kids, seeing Blue and Side Table Drawer and Periwinkle unhappy may teach empathy for others, and provide motivation to interact with the movie to try to help solve the problems.
Rating: Summary: One of the best preschool videos Review: I think that all of the old Steve episodes of Blues Clues are works of genius, and this Steve movie is even better for all the thought and effort that obviously went into it. It is so much more educational on the subject of music than the usual vidoes that merely play music in the background. This one discusses the entire process of creating a song, with all of its components, it showcases several different styles of music, and it illustrates the concept of a performance and what goes into it. The characters are the same as on the show, and the information they convey feels casual and fun despite being meticulously written and timed. My 3 kids love this movie. It is a staple in our car and has become their reference point for understanding a few different concepts related to music and performing. Now if only they'd put more old steve episodes on DVD!
Rating: Summary: Definite Oscar for Steve Burns... Review: What can I say...I have two wild boys...4 and 2...they are both blue's clues addicts. We try to control their addiction through normal means...other activities, pre-school, friends, the park...but their favorite entertainment in the world (right now) is the blue's clues movie...I must admit...this is the best piece of kids' entertainment that I've seen...it is funny, has good music, it has a plot, it is educational, it is action packed...and it is Blue's Clues. I strongly recommend it. And enjoy it while you can because the great Steve Burns is leaving the show...this is his Oscar winning performance...
Rating: Summary: Sit in your thinking chair and enjoy Review: If your kids like Blue's Clues, they will love this movie. The story is set around a musical that Blue will perform in. There are many good musical numbers throughout, including one with the voice of Ray Charles. Although this is titled as a movie, its really just a jazzed up longer version of the tv show with much better music and a longer storyline. As I mentioned above, if your kids like Blue's Clues, this is definitely worth buying for them. The DVD itself is okay, but since the home video cassettes for Blue's Clues are so inexpensive, I'm not sure this is a must have DVD if this is also available on video. The picture is full frame, the sound is dolby stereo but not 5.1. There are a few extras on the DVD such as music videos that are cute for the kids also.
Rating: Summary: Catchy Tunes and a Plot, Too Review: When you buy a video for your children, you look for something that you will be able to stand viewing over and over... Not only do I find Blue's Big Musical non-irritating, I catch myself singing the tunes to myself -- especially Steve's Got a Silly Hat, and Putting It Together. In plot summary, Blue and Steve have a lot to do before they can put on their backyard show for the neighbors. (Shades of the Little Rascals.) Along the way, they have to find a new singing partner for Blue, make up a song, find a part for Side Table (who is too shy to tell them what she really wants to do), and include Periwinkle (who misheard and thought it was going to be a magic show.) Steve spends some time reflecting sadly on how he never finds the clues first, and why he's just not as good at finding clues as You (the audience.) But don't worry -- he'll get his chance before the end. In addition, the DVD includes a wonderful separate segment on the making of Blue's Clues. Parents will enjoy hearing Steve Burns talk like an intelligent adult for a change, and kids who are old enough to understand will enjoy learning who speaks the parts of the different characters. In conclusion -- you can't go wrong with this DVD. Great themes, great songs for kids and yes, adults. Who among us doesn't need a reminder now again: When Things Go Wrong, Don't Give Up -- Just Go On!
Rating: Summary: Top of the List for all our Blue's Clues Videos Review: We have almost all the Blue's Clues videos, and I thought my three year, 10-month old son had outgrown them since he doesn't watch them as frequently anymore. I decided to order this anyway, and since it arrived three days ago, we've been watching it at least three times a day. Good music, good story line, good acting. And because of the extended story line, we can even have a little discussion about what the various characters are feeling. The lesson about music with the cool-talking G-clef is wonderful, of course.
Rating: Summary: What a disappointment! Review: Blue's Clues (with Steve) is my 3 year old daughter's favorite show. We were very excited when the DVD finally arrived and we sat down all together to watch the movie. Unfortunately, all the way through the movie there were very annoying interferences due to manufacturer's disc defects. The DVD signal would disappear throughout the movie and a regular TV program would come on for 1-2 minutes instead. The most unfortunate moment was in the end, when Steve finally lands on his thinking chair with all 3 clues in his hands. The whole episode was erased from the DVD. We returned the DVD back (...) and received a replacement - the same story!! And the same spots on DVD were damaged. Desperate and determined to show my daughter the whole movie, I finally purchased a copy from our local video store. Guess what... it was damaged in the same very spots as the two previous bad copies (...)! I exchanged it again -- and received another bad copy with the same exact damage!!! However, to give credit to the movie creators, my daughter still was watching it at least 2-3 times daily, this is how much she loved whatever she could see. We received an apology (...) and advice from the local video store to contact the manufacturer directly for a good copy. (...) Maybe the movie itself deserves a much better rating, but when you are unable to watch it without constant interruptions, natural frustration takes over and there is no enjoyment and no point in bothering to put it on. What a waste of time and money.
Rating: Summary: I think I've seen this over 500 times.... Review: But it's okay! It's great to have this around for my two year old, she's been addicted to it since she was 14 months. The songs are catchy but not too annoying. It's also nice to have a long BC video for her to watch. Some of the character voives aren't the same ones from the TV show, but she can't tell. Also Steve Burns gets to show off more of his wonderful musical talent (He has an album out now, by the way). I need to get a new one though because it was used so much the tape is broken now. I think she'll like it even more after she hasn't seen it in a while.
Rating: Summary: Bowbowbowwwww!!! Review: My little girl now has Blue for 74 minutes! She absolutely loves this movie. We borrowed it from her cousin and when they wanted it back she was so sad that I decided to order it for her. This movie is well directed and very entertaining for preschool age children. It teaches them that you should always go for what you want and never to give up, it is a wonderful way to put hope in our kids!
