Summary: Good workout
Review: This is a very fast paced DVD that delivers a great workout. Because of the pace, the routine seems to fly by - great for days when my attention span in running short. Sun salutations in the beginning definitely get your heart going - I would have preferred some of the poses following that to be a bit slower in order to work on balance and flexibility more. Runs about 45 minutes with a 5 minute Pilates abs routine at the end. Would have liked 10-15 more minutes of yoga, but ended up feeling challenged nonetheless. Overall, a definite keeper!!

Summary: The best power yoga video I've seen
Review: This is the best power yoga video I've tried. The poses are challenging and repeated more than once. I note that there are some comments about the poses not being held long, but the whole point of power yoga is that you don't need to hold the poses for long periods of time. Your body already knows the poses and thus you don't need to hold them. Since this moves very fast, it allows you to repeat the sequences several times.

Be warned: This is not for the beginner. I would recommend watching the video first before doing. I definitely recommend this video over Rodney Yee's videos or doing the yoga videos from Gaiam. MTV's power yoga video definitely gets your heart rate up.

Review: This isn't a bad video, but it is much more difficult than "MTV Yoga." If you haven't been practicing yoga for a while, you can easily get left behind. These moves require flexibility and often rapid changes from one pose to another. So, do yourself these favors:

1. Start with a less-advanced video (I prefer "MTV Yoga," Crunch's "Fat-Burning Yoga" and Gaiam's "Yoga for Weight Loss with Suzanne Deason"), and work on it for a few months to build flexibility and, if necessary, reduce the waistline.
2. Watch the video all the way through without participating before you actually try to do the exercises. It's hard enough to keep up when you already know the poses.
3. Try to move away from the concept of yoga as twisting into a pretzel, sitting and meditating for hours on end. It's not all like that.

For the experienced yoga junkie, I'm sure this would make a great video, and an excellent way to push your workouts further.

Summary: Fast Paced and Challenging
Review: This yoga workout is about 45 minutes long. It is a challenging workout and definately not for beginners. The sun salutations at the beginning are especially fast paced--almost to the point of being too fast--you might get injured moving so quickly. But, the tape slows down after that and you hold most poses for a count of 3 breaths. It includes many warrior positions and balancing poses. Then you move to the floor to finish up doing backbends and fowardbends. If you like to move quickly this workout is for you. I was a little worried that the music would be annoying and not relaxing (because of the MTV association) but it was actually okay.
