Rating: Summary: Better than the first Review: I have to disagree with some of the other reviews; I have the first video too and found this one much more envigorating. Ok, so I am a member of the MTV Generation - but then thats exactly who its marketed for. I know there isn't a slow pace and it doesn't mention anything about the spiritual side - but I cant bear that Austen woman and her 'keep smiling, you can do it' rubbish. And I would imagine most of my peers are the same. I found the workout much more enduring than the previous video, and I know I will be aching in the morning. I had watched the workout through before I began and couldnt believe some of the poses they were doing, but I am really pleased that they weren't as hard as they look. I loved the pilates section on Abs at the end, and even if i don't use the workout every day I will at least have time to do the pilates. Personally I am glad that I didn't bother listening to the reviews and find out for myself how fab this video is.
Rating: Summary: The best I've tried. Review: I have tried many yoga videos and MTV is my favorite. Here are a few reasons why: 1) Instructor only soundtrack option. Thanks for not subjecting me to panflute and new age synth pads. 2) Instructor dialogue is part of class. Videos with overdubbed instruction often seem out of synch with the practice. Kristin speaks as she is doing yoga and the resulting instruction is well integrated with the practice. I record the soundtrack onto CD and practice without the TV - works great. 3) A great series. Both MTV Yoga and Power Yoga feature well thought out, full body work-outs - great flow, very thorough. The first video focuses (generally) more on hips and holding poses - Power Yoga more fast-paced flow and backbending. 4) The yoga is presented without any new age or otherwise spiritual overtones. Works for me!
Rating: Summary: very good Review: I love this DVD. I also have the first one and I thought Power Yoga is a much better improvement. It is very challenging but it's something to get you in shape and feel good thoughout your body. On the last video she would mess up the breathing. On this one, she still messes up a little, but it is better I have to admit. I wouldn't reccomend Power Yoga to begginers because you really have to know what you are doing because it is so fast paced.
Rating: Summary: Buy it now! Review: I LOVE this DVD; have been doing power yoga for 3 years & love my gym's classes there, but wanted something just as challenging for when I can't get to the gym - this is it. Bought it before Christmas & did it 6 times over the Christmas-NYE season & it helped me to maintain muscle (especially in arms & thighs), burn fat, reduce stress & stay flexible through the holiday chaos! You will sweat, it's very hard at first, but gets easier; and there are other people on the DVD that you can watch for easier moderations of the poses. Very challenging & fun & the 5 minutes of pilates at the end are quick & effective.
Rating: Summary: MY FAVORITE YOGA DVD SO FAR Review: I love this workout! I just started doing YOGA 6 months ago using a slower paced YOGA DVD that was good for about a month. After getting the basics down I started searching for a more challenging workout and found these ones put out by MTV. I have both, but I love this one more. It has a smoother pace, the scenery is pleasant, and that stupid Lori chick from 'Real World' isn't on this one (she's featured on the first one for some lame marketing reason). McGee's voice is never aggrevating. At first it was a challenge, but after a few times I got the hang of it and do it 3 times a week. Awesome workout. Looking forward to the next installment.
Rating: Summary: Not Yoga - don't waste your money Review: I pre-ordered this DVD with the hopes that it would be as great as MTV Yoga, Kristin McGee's 1st yoga DVD. Boy, was I wrong. There is virtually NO warm-up, and at the beginning, she goes through an unusual sun-salutation so fast it's hard to know to keep up. I am a dedicated yoga student, and have been practicing ashtanga yoga every day for several years. This is not power yoga. None of the stretches are held for any length of time - not until halfway through the dvd is downward facing dog held for 3 breaths! Prior to that it isn't even held for one. Her cueing is not great, and everything moves too fast. Typically, power yoga moves through a vinyasa flow at a quick pace, and then a downward facing dog or similar pose would be held for 5 breaths or so to strengthen and stretch the body. Anyone looking for yoga won't get it here - it is an exercise video, not a power yoga video. The second half is dedicated to some more typical yoga poses, but again, they aren't held very long. Even the final relaxation stinks. Each pose seems rushed - her first video was far superior & is a favorite. This one is a dud!
Rating: Summary: Beginners Beware Review: I think this is a great workout. Today was my first attempt and I have to say, I sweat more than I have in a long time in Yoga workouts (but I'm not an avid practitioner!) I have been doing the Crunch Fat-Burning Yoga, which I like a lot, but this one made me sweat more... in the first 15 mins. and I like all the standing poses. This DVD is great because: 1- They actually use the real names of the positions. 2- It made me sweat like hell! 3-Its very quick in the beginning but then you can look forward to some slower poses 4- time flies with this one. 5- the instructor does not always prompt the position for very long which is fine b/c the DVD has a section where you can go through the positions BEFORE you start so that you dont have to get too confused about what's going on if y ou dont know the Moon pose for example. 6- there is a quick pilates workout for abs at the end. I have Winsor pilates and its' the same stuff... BUT there are SOME things I'd consider before purchase 1-It moves TOO quickly. Especially for someone who is not a pro. So be careful not to hurt yourself on the cobra pose (thats the one i have trouble with). In all, I like this DVD a lot! Feel energized, etc. The setting is nice, in the Arizona mountains. Enjoy the workout!

Rating: Summary: Inspiring into to power yoga Review: I took yoga classes years ago and loved them. Now I've decided to exercise regularly again. I chose MTV Power Yoga because it didn't seem too easy nor too difficult. That turned out to be true for me. This 45-minute workout is just challenging enough. It's fun, too. I actually look forward to exercising every day, a feeling I've never had. And I've already lost 3 pounds.
Rating: Summary: bouncy waste of time Review: I was really excited to try this, so the letdown was huge. This isn't yoga; it's...I don't know, aerobics? Sometimes I feel like people don't like videos because they find them difficult, but that isn't the case with me. I do Bryan Kest's original series & Baron Baptiste's original series (from the '90s) often and enjoy the challenges they present. This was a waste of time, and it screwed up my lower back to boot. To get anything out of yoga you need to actually HOLD the positions. Otherwise you just end up tearing things, etc. I recommend Kest, Baptiste, Tracey Rich/Ganga White, the original MTV Yoga, and even Mark Blanchard over this.
