Summary: Are you Threatening Me?
Review: "I AM CORNHOLIO! I need teepee for my bunghole!! Do not make my bunghole angry!!!" Anyone in need of these blissful
screechings from Beavis' pubescent voicebox need only pop this DVD in the player.

...Well, in many regards it
does pale, but the Bad Boys from Highland display the saving grace of finding sexual innuendo in just about *everything* (e.g., when Van Driessen [hippy teacher] says "I hope this wasn't too hard on you" and Butt-Head retorts "huh huh, he said 'hard
on.'")

Whereas "South Park" is about a crew of eight-year-old smart-[alecs], "Beavis and Butt-Head" was about a pair of adolescent
dumb-asses, and hence was much better catharsis if you needed a fix of laughing AT people, rather than just WITH them.

Best of all is the title episode, in which St. Peter (huh huh, you said 'Peter') demands a full-accounting of Beavis' basically empty life.

This is mindless fun at its best, but I agree the music videos should have been included.

Summary: Figures . . .
Review: . . . the negative-condescending editorial review was written by a WOMAN. This show was made for males between the ages 14-30 and was IMMENSELY popular during its tenure on MTV. And it's 100 times better than South Park, which is not funny at all. "Have a nice day, Beavis!"

Summary: Bunghole Surprise for the Original Critic
Review: B&B, South Park & Simpsons ALL have their hilarious moments, and during other times, their 'less-than-hilarious' moments. Gut-busting comedy is impossible to sustain non-stop for 30 minutes.

No sitcoms can do that, so why would anyone expect the same from these cartoons? (Heh-heh ... I said "Would"). All 3 of these cartoons may be obnoxious at face value, but underneath, they throw occasional daggers at various people & groups in society -- pretty much, everybody.

And thanks to shows like South Park & Simpsons, holier-than-thou populations can be brought down -- or shot down -- to Earth for some humble pie.

In B&B's case, the absurd musicians & bands reaping the 80s-benefits of MTV-boosted popularity & fame were badly in need of humility, so B&B's music videos segments took aim & hit targets fairly well.

The first critic (not the original) was right -- the music video segments were the best part, especially when B&B railed on big-hair 80s-glamour-rock bands or on pseudo-tough rap artists (Beavis: "Snoop Dogg's in da howse!").

More importantly, B&B did exactly what MTV should not have allowed it to do -- serve as a reminder to the general public that the entertainment industry -- and entertainers themselves -- only exist in some distant land, across a chasm of hypocrisy & self-preservation. And they only appear on MTV & other channels humanizing themselves to increase revenues for all parties, boost album sales, & generate concert attendance.

In essence, B&B shows us -- teenagers in particular -- why musicians & artists should be admired, but never worshipped (as per Elvis & Beatles of previous generations).

OK -- maybe the story segments of B&B & the other shows sometimes blow chunks. But compared to vanilla-white sitcoms like Family Matters, Cosby, Full House, Everybody Loves Raymond, and so on, what choice do we have? Urkel vs. Beavis? Don't bother asking.

Review: Beavis and Butt-head bring classic moronity to the extreme in this 7 episode collection, which is now out of print and a must-have for any Butt Burglar enthusiast. Mike Judge is the master of stereotypes, and exhibits this skill throughout the BNB days. The "No Laughing" segment is hilarious with the in-your-face teaching style of Mr. Buzzcut, and "Manners Suck" is phenomenal when the always mellow hippy Mr. Van Driessen attacks classroom guest Mr. Manners when Beavis accuses him of abuse. "You touch my students and I'll touch you!" The fun continues when the boys go to prison to be "Scared Straight" and have a blast rocking out Iron Maiden with two thugs they think are cool. And of course the potential for moronity is boundless when Beavis assumes his Cornholio persona and disrupts the school day at Highland High. Buy this now or you have no bunghole!

Review: Dont buy any of these dvd's if you value the funniest parts of the episodes...the music videos. They arent included, but instead pushed out these horrible dvds that only include half or less of what each episode used to be. This is a total rip if you're an old fan of the show.

Summary: FIVE THUMBS DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Geez loueez!!!! Can you say " Hatchet Job "? I knew you could. Huge disappointment here folks. " Beavis and Butthead " was a ground-breaking show and my favorite animated series besides " The Simpsons ". But Sony misses the mark big-time with this release. If they plan on releasing more episodes on DVD, can they at least put the show in it's proper form?

Here is the biggest complaint: they have completely chopped out the music videos that were such an integral part of the show when it was run on MTV. You know, the clips where a video is playing and the boys give their thoughts, whether they'd be trashing a terrible one or cheering an Iron Maiden video. Gone, completely cut out! The MTV logo is plastered all over the case, but this DVD DOES NOT REPRESENT THE SHOW AS SEEN IN IT'S ORIGINAL FORM!!!! I don't know if the videos have been cut out due to licensing restrictions ( as in older seasons of Mystery Science Theater, where the rights to the movies have expired ), but not having Beavis & Butthead making fun of the videos takes away an incredibly funny aspect of the show.

On top of that, you get nothing extra for the price. No commentary, no unreleased material, NOTHING!!!!! Despite the fact of containing 7 episodes, the disc doesn't even crack the 45-minute barrier!!! In fact, it seems like Sony went the extra mile to shortchange the consumer with this product. I love " Beavis and Butthead "...

Summary: [BAD]! No Music Videos Included!
Review: I can't remember the last time I've been so disappointed with a purchase. The absolute funniest parts of each B&B episode were their interaction while watching camped out on Butthead's couch watching music videos. There is NONE of that in any of the B&B compilations released so far...this one included. It would've been nice to know this (labelling? Hello!) before I bought it.
