Fishburne puts on an amamzing performance as the leader of the group, and all supporting actors place the film in good standing. This movie was an inspirational piece that should be viewed by anyone interested in WW2 history or just about anyone.

Summary: good acting and story, poor and inaccurate action scenes
Review: As a WW2 plane buff, I will just comment on air combat and planes.The movie tries but fails not to be a black Top Gun. This means when Lawrence Fishburne arrives, Jerries get shot down. He doesn't stop at planes, he manages to sink a warship with his 6 .50 cals (!). German planes are Spanish used 109s, sporting Rolls Royce engines. In the time of modern special effects, some FW 190s and correct Me 109s are a must. Same for P 51s. We are led to believe that Tuskegee airmen only later switched to P51, the D version. They, however, fly the same type throughout whole movie. German pilots are portrayed as flying idiots, despite their real record will never be matched (over hundred aces with over 100 kills, 2 aces with over 300 kills). In the movie, however, they need 4:1 to make an aerial kill and are quickly chased away by our hero Fishbourne. A nice story, good acting, but definitely dissapointing air combat scenes.

Summary: The acting is startling.
Review: Fishburne and Gooding, Jr. are phenomenal, especially in scenes together. The story needs to be told, yes, but it is this particular presentation which is amazing. The fine cast, the wonderful writing and the shocking cinemotography are what make this a fine movie. The colors of the film, the saturated colors in the air scenes, the darkness in appropraite spots, make it an intense experience.

Review: Hello. This film, The Tuskegee Airmen starring Laurence Fishburne and co-starring Cuba Gooding Jr., is the true story of the 332nd fighter group in WWII. Robert Markowitz did a fabulous job with this film. It's a film i'll watch until i grow old. Excellent performances, my favorite performance in this film is Cuba Gooding Jr., but Fishburne is wonderful as well. END

Review: Hi! This is a great movie. I'm a World War 2 buff so i read and watch alot of things about the second world war. This is a great movie about the story of the 332nd fighter regiment. Even people that don't know anything about world war II will like this movie.

Review: HiLo, We just watched this movie today in school for black history month (a little late). All week long when the teacher said we were going ot watch it on Thursday, I kept saying I was gonna stay home or not watch it cause it would be SO boring. I was wrong it was very interesting, helped me learn more, and it starred and co-starred some of my fave. actors. It was so sad I nearly cried. I bet I did good on that paper I did:) (^v^)Caracara(^v^)

Review: I have always considered Laurence as one of the the cinema's best kept secrets. He is highly underated as an actor, while other actors with half his talent get recognition. I really enjoyed the movie. The supporting cast gave good performances also.

Summary: Best film I have seen about black pilots fighting in WW II
Review: I love history and I especially loved the characters in this film. They all did excellent jobs in bring to us the racism that permeated the armed service during WW II. The scenery was great and I thought the actors did an excellent job in portraying the lives of the actual men who served in that squadron during the war....

Summary: Outstanding!... But Could've Been Better
Review: I was thrilled to hear about the coming of this movie--then saddened to realize that it was only to be shown as a TV movie. It seemed to me that the saga of these marvelous aviator warriors--treated as they were as second-class citizens by their own government--is one which deserved to be a silver-screen triumph. Our four-engine bombers were being punched out of the sky by the Luftwaffe, but NEVER when the Tuskegee pilots graced their wingtips. Their combat record was nothing short of amazing. The movie was well done, with great story, great actors, great acting. Still, I came away wishing that it might have been better in one respect: During the aerial combat segments, you hear the pilots bantering back and forth loudly over the radios using these rediculous phrases: "Take that, Gerry!" "That's for yo mamma, Gerry!" This was such a great movie; why did they have to dip into corny dialogue during the dog-fighting? It was a flawless procduction till it went hackneyed in those moments.
Aside from that, it was awe-inspiring, moving, even gripping. I just hope the subject is not dropped, and that someday the Tuskegee heroes' story is given even better homage--on the silver screen. This is a far more important story than, say, the sinking of the Titanic.
