Summary: Gia
Review: "Gia" was an awesome movie. Since I bought it, I've watched it soooooo many times!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: wow
Review: From the movies I have seen, Angelina steals the screen in every single scene she's in. Gia is no different and really gives her a chance to shine. She has a quality to her acting that you just have to watch. The physical resemblace to Gia is startling and the whole movie captures something of the model that might otherwise be forgotton. Instead of just a rich, supermodel junkie, Angelina plays Gia as a lost soul. The rest of the cast are all awesome too.

Summary: Death of a lovely woman
Review: Gia is a great movie. It shows that the life of a model isnt at great as it seems. It shows her struggles and how hard times can be. The movie is great and its hard to belive its true.

Summary: Descent of a Supermodel
Review: Money and professional success cannot buy you happiness: this, I reckon, is the moral of the story. Gia grew up fast and had to deal with many overwhelming and all-too-adult problems on her own. She could not cope. Her internal state craved numbness, and so she turned to drugs. From there there is, as we know, just one way to go...

Jolie is superb in this movie, no question about it. The movie conveys the grit of the real and less than always glamorous world of modeling. Like in every profession, sometimes you face difficult situations, and human psyche is fragile, and often fails in the high pressure professional world, especially when personal life is not working out. Watch this film.

Summary: Gone and Almost Forgotten
Review: I can't decide which is more tragic...that Gia died so young and so horribly misunderstood or that her life was nearly forgotten by a world which has much to learn by her cruel life's lesson. If it weren't for this film, only the people who worked and lived with Gia would know who she was. Watching this video will change your life and the way you think of the "glamorous" life of fashion modeling. It is a must-see for everyone, especially would-be models and their families.

Summary: This is Life
Review: I thought this movie has a lot meaning to it and should teacheveryone to give stars a break sometimes. This is how life goes. There is no happily ever after in life. I thought this movie was written correctly becuase she had a hard life with drugs, her sexuality, and fame which are three very difficult things to deal with. Nt often do we get to see reality on TV and this is a good experience in reality becuase there are no lies about how her life was and to everyone who thinks she should have had a happy ending should go watch another movie. I get very sick of it always working out on TV and for it not to is a big step.

Summary: Outstanding but with a twist
Review: I have seen GIA several times on HBO and I feel that it's a great portrail of GIA Corongie. the sex scenes are a plus even though they weren't all shown on the HBO version. This movie had alot of twists and turns first she was doing good then bad then good then even worse. I say this movie could probably been cut just about in half. It's a simple movie with a sad ending, I give it 4 stars for the great work by Angelia Golie the staring chachter. It's hard to tell if that's absolutley accurate they probably left out alot from the origional story.

Off the record, on the QT, and very HUSH HUSH

Summary: A lesbian love story with a very unhappy ending
Review: I had high hopes for this movie. When Gia meets Linda something just clicks. Gia falls head over heels for this girl. They look good together. Gia and Linda look very charming and very sweet when they're together and you really want for them to make it work. The love/sex scenes are very sweet and romantic and sexy. However Gia has a drug problem and she's taking what could be a storybook romance and turning it into a tragedy. You keep hoping the stable well-adjusted Linda can help turn Gia's life around. You keep hoping Gia will get off the drugs and she and Linda will live happily ever after. But there is no happily ever after. Gia keeps snorting herion or shooting it up. She wrecks her career and scares people away from her that might help her. She scares Linda although Linda never really gives up on her. However in the end Gia ends up dying tragically and everybody (especially me) is depressed. I realise this is a true story and they couldn't just lie about how things turned out, but aren't there any true life lesbian stories with HAPPY endings?

Summary: "A capturing performance by Angelina Jollie"
Review: If you are an Angelina Jolie fan, this may already be your all-time favorite AJ performance. If you are not an AJ fan yet, you will be after you see this amazing true story drama of Gia Marie Carangi. Gia grew up in Philadelphia, her parents had seperated when she was young which had left her looking for real love the rest of her life. She later met Wilhemina Cooper who became her modeling agent, and Gia's life took off from there. Gia also meets the woman of her dreams, and their romance throughout the movie was breathless and also slightly tear-jerking. Aside Angelina's powerful performance, she was well supported with great co-stars including Elizabeth Mitchell who played "Linda" Gia's love. It is a Romance that can never be forgotten. -This is a must see movie.

Summary: "ONE OF THE BEST....."
Review: performances I've seen by an actress in a LONG TIME! On first viewing, I found the film good, and Angelina's performance pretty impressive, but I was of the opinion that Gia was a confused, annoying woman who contributed to her own demise. Then I happened to watch the film again and this time, I was totally blown away. Why, I couldn't tell you for sure. Maybe it's because the performance by Angelina is so layered, so intriguing and so complex and one that you have to watch at least twice to appreciate on all of its levels. She captures the sexy/sensual Gia, the confident young Gia taking on the modeling world and the scared little girl Gia, who only wanted to be loved.

Even if you're one who would write off the performance as showy after the first viewing (Gia's life had the ingredients that made for great drama), for some reason, you do come back again, and at that point, you're hooked. That second time you watch closely, and you see how Angelina turns Gia from someone who I felt contributed to her own demise, to someone I was sympathetic towards after the second viewing. Angelina's performance has me admiring Gia for how she lived life on her own terms and feeling heartbroken that it had to end so soon. Elizabeth Mitchell and Mercedes Ruehl are also very good, in strong supporting roles, playing the two women in Gia's life that, in the end, mattered most. The scene that I found most powerful was when Mitchell's character is trying to keep Gia from choosing drugs over her. It is at that moment that she realizes she's got to get away because she can't stand to see Gia destroy herself. I also love the closing scene, where Gia arises and walks on to eternity, her words serving as a punctuation to a life lived on its own terms.

It's Angelina's performance that is amazing, and the power of that performance lingers for quite a while. If this film was theatrically released, there would have been no way she would have lost the Oscar that year. No performance by an actress has come close since.
