Summary: PURE AND OUTRIGHT HBO GREED!!!
Review: It's a sad shame that I wont be buying the fifth season of this great show and all because of the ridiculous price.I cant believe they expect us to pay the same price when we only get about half as much content.Do they really think that we are mindless consumers who will pay anything for our favorite shows? The season itself was pretty good but it's too bad it was cut short.I would advise anyone to not purchase this set until they lower the price that way they will be forced to lower the price if no one is purchasing it.SAD SAD SAD!!!

Summary: I'm Confused Here
Review: Most of you are moaning about the number of episodes in the season and the price, which I can understand, but I think you all are smoking crack when you say that this is the low point of the series!

This season, despite being only a few episodes, was FAR SUPERIOR to 4 and a lot of 3. Especially 4, which was not GOOD. It was drama and bad writing--not Sex and the City worthy stuff. Season 5 was all about the GIRLS...which is what this show has always been about. I was literally euphoric after watching some of these episodes in the 5th season.

Anyhow--I'd like to reserve judgement until I actually watch the DVD's, but for now I will give it 5 stars, based upon the quality of the episodes themselves.

Summary: But it's Sex and the City
Review: Ok...I've read the other reviews and I have to say...what is wrong with you all?? I started watching the series in season two and with one episode, I was hooked. I quickly snatched season one and two and lived for season 3 to start on HBO when I had it. The days of having HBO ended when I decided to go back to college and so, unfortuantely, did the day so catching 'Sex' on Sunday night. I now live for the sets to come out and there's no way I'm supressing myself of season 5 after intently watching season 4. $30 or not, I'll be paying HBO's price for the set because I'm a huge fan of the show and I've figured that for the price of dvd set, I'm saving money not having to subscribe to HBO. (I know what you're thinking...I get a lot more than just 'Sex and the City' but in my reality..I don't...by the time the movies hit HBO I've seen then via Blockbuster). There's no swaying this fan not to buy a dvd set of her beloved show.

Summary: HBO you disappoint me! 2 DVD's? Where are the extras?
Review: While I absolutely love the women of SATC on HBO, I am a bit disappointed. 2 DVD's only? I was willing to pay anything until I saw the price. I own all the DVD's and VHS so I can watch "my girls" anytime without worry that they do not have a DVD player... but for this edition... I am pissed! Does the set come with behind the scenes action? Where is the "meat" in this boxed set? I do not think I will be purchasing this set... despite being a very big fan of the show. This season is one of the most slow seasons ever. It was almost torture to watch the tragedy unfold.

Summary: It's a shame
Review: Reading all the other reviews I have decided not to buy season 5 even though I bought all other 4 seasons. I haven't seen this (5th) series but I think I can live without these 8 episodes. If the price would have been fair, I still might have considered buying it. It's a shame HBO is only trying to get as much money out of it as possible.

Summary: a let down, but still a class act show
Review: While Season 5 was a let down - it wasn't as glamorous as past seasons or as long, it did get down to some issues of being single in the city. Sometimes you are alone for a while and are feeling older and out of it. I thought Anchors Away was one of the funniest episodes they ever did as well. The plot lines for Charlotte and Miranda were pretty strong. The only one who kind of went downhill in this season was Kim Catrell. Sometimes they write the silliest plot lines for her (dying her pubic hair, getting a chemical peel) and don't really show the fact that she can act.

I'm also surprised about all the pricing complaints here. Yes, it is not as good of a product as we've had before. But people also pay from 15 - 20 dollars for a cd on average. We're getting two dvd discs for 30 dollars. It's not that big of a deal! I watch my Sex and the City dvd's over and over again so it's worth the price. I'm kind of surprised that they just didn't tack on the six episodes from the other "bonus" season and have season four be only 12 episodes like the first one, so that way both bonus seasons would give us 14 episodes. But whatever. That's one way to do it. I plan on buying it all the same.

So overall, yes this season was a let down. The fashion wasn't as strong before, the plot lines weren't either. But still over all it was good. I recommend it for Sex and the City fans.

Summary: HBO is greedy
Review: I was all set to pre-order this DVD as I have purchased the first four seasons. But after seeing the other reviews and realizing this only has a shorten season but the regular price, I have decided not to buy it. HBO is just too greedy. I probably wont buy the remaining seasons either. I hope more people also skip buying this DVD. That is the only way HBO will learn they can't rip people off like this.

Summary: Are you kidding?!?
Review: 2 Discs, that's all you get for the price of the other sets? This is a very bad decision from somebody. Sadly, this season will not be making it into my DVD collection until the price reflects what you are getting.

Summary: TOO EXPENSIVE
Review: I am a true fan of SATC and this being said I find it very difficult to want to purchase the 5th season at the price they are asking. This is highly unreasonable. There are only 8 episodes here people. A simple $$$$ price would do. If it does not go down to that I will NOT be purchasing the 5th season and that will be disappointing.

Summary: We are counting on HBO to lower the price!!!
Review: Okay, first of all let me preface this review by saying that SATC is my all-time favorite show. I am in love with each girl on the show and find a piece of myself in all four. I think the beauty of this show is the depiction of strong, vibrant women who are trying to make it in the world by supporting eachother and using honesty in their lives. They encounter the same pitfalls and joys that many of us have experienced and I am indebted to the creators and cast for taking the time to make such a realistic show that unabashedly addresses many taboo subjects. That being said, let me just say how disappointed I am that the price of Season 5 is as high as any other season. I understand the writers changed the entire season once they discovered that SJP was pregnant and I don't fault them for it. What I do fault HBO for is the ridiculous notion that we loyal fans won't notice the short, obviously slap-dashed-together Season 5 and spend the same amount of money to view it over and over. This was not a good season for fans of Carrie or Samantha...their characters looked a bit desperate at times. Miranda and Charlotte do not disappoint and P.S. Will some one PLEASE at least nominate Kristin Davis for an Emmy? All in all, not the best season and a silly price because after all, the loyal fans will notice there is not the same value here and do you really want to alienate the loyal fans?
