Review: This is a great show! I could hardly wait to get my Sex and the City Season 4 in the mail, but Amazon.com got it here much quicker than I expected! I own the 3 previous seasons of Sex and the City as well, and they are all wonderful. I absolutely love this show.

Review: sound mix! Whenever there is loud music the dialogue gets almost completely drowned out! This has been a problem on all four seasons. Otherwise, this is an excellent box set and I give it my highest recommendation.

Summary: My god I am going to miss these girls...
Review: As most of you know, SEX is now going into it's 6th and final season. Thankfully, the brilliance of this amazing show has been preserved on DVD (and VHS). From Miranda's pregnancy, to Charlotte's divorce, to Carrie's broken engagement, to Samantha's broken heart, the 4th season shows the girls proving that their characters go much deeper than just SEX. What I loved most about this season was how each lady endured a major event in her life, but still remained true to the very essence of her character. Samantha fell in love, yet still remained a 'wild child' of sorts. Carrie and Aidan became engaged, but she stilled remained the same insecure person she always was who loves to analyze everything to death. Miranda became pregnant, but found out that she enjoyed her life the way it was (with or without baby), and Charlotte remained a true believer in marriage and love (even though her fairly brief marriage fell apart). This has been a very careful balancing act on the part of the writers. Have the characters evolve, but allow them to stay true to who they really are. A tough job, but pulled off beautifully. This, I think, is what has kept the show so interesting. The characters themselves haven't changed. Instead, they have experienced a number of different situations in their lives which display their true, and deeper, colors. Enjoy!

Summary: A Classic!
Review: I must say that I pretty much ignored SATC when it first came out because I thought it's gonna be just one more of those pretentious but-really-not-so-great sitcoms. It took me a few years to even watch an episode and from that moment I was just... absolutely hooked. SATC is simply the best series that was ever made. The cast, the stories... everything nearly perfect. OK, here and there you get a stinker but that's pretty normal. Compared to other comedy-series, SATC is the only that can satisfy my demand of good and versatile entertainment because SATC is not only comedy but also makes you think sometimes, too.
I can't wait to own the next Season on DVD and Season 6 on Telly!
Slan from Dublin, Ireland!! :)

Review: If you love Sex and the City you must see this series. It's one of the funniest shows ever made.

Summary: Just cause ya watch it doesn't mean ya live it.....
Review: Well written, acted, directed, and it shows off one of the worlds most special cities in its best warts and all fashion...

Having perused some of the online reviewers of SITC I'm amazed at people that say it bashes men, and is "just so real".

If anything it shows just how confused both sexes are in these modern times. The lives of purported equals have many wrenches thrown in the works just by living life. I tend to take the show as a meditation on wonderfully diverse topics. I don't take it seriously, though some episodes have a certain ring of truth. And other episodes have a surprisingly shallow aspect to them.....gee, could there be shallow people out there? Or do we all occupy space on this planet with no baggage and utter pristine virtue?

The characters are flawed, the stories are sometimes a little to tidy. But hands down it beats what network TV has to offer just by the risks it takes in showing just how mixed up and strange a world we live in.

******SPOILERS AHEAD********
Season 4 is my favorite so far....though I'm still mad at Carrie for nabbing Aiden back just cause she felt bad for her cheating, only to drop him again when it starts getting REALLY serious. Of course she's still in love with Big. 10 to 1 she moves to Napa to be with him.......

Summary: LOVE SEX AND THE CITY HATE THE EDITORS
Review: Where is the sex? Where's the shock factor and the fun. I don't know who or why the editors of sex and the city felt the need to take all of the sexy scenes out of the DVD's and the Videos. I have been a die hard fan of Sex and City since it's conception and I know that the funniest thing about the show is the brazen sex, bad language and the hard core plots. That is what made the show so funny. I have tried to turn some of male friends on to the "City". But was embarrased when I viewed the Video and DVD versions. What a ripoff! I have always watched but due to my work schedule was unable to watch seasons 3 and 4, uninterrupted like 1&2. I knew the "City" was a must have for my video collection, and could not wait to have all of my beloved shows in my possession. I have seen the uncut versions so I know the difference. I purchased Seasons 1-4 and have been disappointed with each passing season. The editors have reduced it to nothing less than regular television pg-rated fluff. Who ever wanted the shows cleaned up don't get the "City" anyway so why bother.

Summary: The Season of Change
Review: Throughout the first seasons of SATC it seems that the characters are being established. Although their archetypal personalities are clear from the beginning we see the choices, relationships, and events that further define the characters. I think however, the fourth season shows a change- a depth- not seen in other seasons. It begins with Carrie's birthday and pondering "Can women be each other's soulmates and men be just for fun?" this question will echo throughout the season, as the women enter and leave relationships and begin to acknowlege that they are getting older, and that perhaps their "singality" is a choice. The idea of soulmates is expanded as each deals with personal situations more real than the relational problems they experienced in previous seasons. The fourth season is a crucial turning point in the series. With only one season left of the amazing cultural phenomenon that is SATC, all fans must own this season.

Summary: best season yet
Review: If you think that this show is all about sex and the city, you should look at how shallow you are, and/or you haven't watched a single episode. This season was my favorite so far, if not for the singe reason that this show is not just about sex, it's about relationships, friendships, and life. Why would anyone tune in every week to see a show simply about sex? They don't. They tune in because the characters are dynamic and engaging, and a variety of topics are addressed. "My motherboard, my self" where Miranda's mother dies was one of my favorites. It had depth and comedy, it gave you something to think about, as all the episodes do. The writing is biting and entertaining, and the characters draw you in. If you want something to think about while watching wonderful characters, I can't think of a better way to spend half an hour a week!!

Summary: Fun stuff
Review: My wife got me hooked on this show and I admit I like it.

I must disagree ... that the show and its fans all "bash men and women" and are dragging down society.
I have seen most of the episodes of SATC and I have yet to cheat on or insult my wife.

A reasonably intelligent and balanced person can enjoy entertainment and not have to live it. So long as you don't take it all too seriously you should enjoy this show...
