Summary: Band of Brothers
Review: Band of Brothers is currently being aired on AFN here in Europe and it's great. It's moving and enthralling. I've never seen better acting for a mini-series. I missed it last week and I am really disappointed. Now I hope to own it since I don't expect that it will be reran before we leave for the states.

Summary: "Currahee"
Review: The series was so absolutely fantastic that even my wife and kids watched with me. 2 of my daughters have since read the book and are also waiting impatiently for this to come out on DVD.

The Spielberg/Hanks/Ambrose team, along with the entire cast and crew, have put together a truly heart pounding, lump in your throat, edge of your seat, emotional rollercoaster of a series.

Without a doubt, the closest thing to being an actual historical documentary I have seen. It nearly made you experience the same highs and lows, tears and fears, and love and hate, as the actual combatants.

This MUST be brought out on DVD and would be a travesty if it wasn't.

Summary: Band Of Brothers
Review: At first i was dubious of another Spielberg and Hanks collaboration, could this be another Saving Private Ryan divided into ten? I was however pleasantly suprised, from the first episode i was gripped. With the combination of excitment leading through all of the possible emotions to eventual triumph. There is a definate similarity to the style of cinamatography used but it is used to its full potential leading you directly into the battleground amongst the fallen heros and the ever corageous E Company. This is a definate must see with a moving soundtrack that adds to the unforgiving yet undetered atmosphere of the 101st airbourne. This is one for the collection as soon as HBO release it!!

Summary: Wow!
Review: Having seen the brilliant job Hanks made of 'From the Earth to the Moon', I had confidence that this would be good, especially in concert with Spielberg. But, when I finally saw it; wow! I can't remember when I've enjoyed ten hours of television so much. It was so good I even convinced my mother to watch it (a feat in itself!). I'm praying this comes to VHS in the UK very, very soon.

Summary: I Can't Believe This Is Not Available Yet
Review: HBO has really dropped the ball on this one. There are very few films I will pay big bucks for. This would well be worth it. If HBO isn't the one responsible, whoever is "NUTS" for not having it out before Christmas.

Summary: Not yet released but the series was excellent
Review: I was hoping that the DVD of this series had been released, because it protrayed the personal war which WWII was to so many who fought and died togther. I would say it was in a class similiar to "Saving Private Ryan" and will be a classic in time.

Summary: I'm almost obsessed by Band of Brothers
Review: This was the finest film I have ever seen--the marvelous writing, the really great and convincing acting, the wonderful scenes and the amazing tying together of so many points of view in portraying the stress of battle overwhelmed me. Since it is not available now on tv or dvd, I can only remember what I saw during the eleven episodes and listen to the soundtrack (which is also outstanding). I have heard that the series may be shown again in the spring and the dvd will be available in the fourth quarter of 2002.
The present is when we need to have "Band of Brothers" again, so that we can ponder the sacrifices being made by our current bands of brothers in Afghanistan. It seems to me essential that we keep them in mind all the time, and give something of ourselves to the war against terrorism.

Summary: Band of Brothers
Review: Absolutely the most moving and informative version of the horrors of war I've ever seen. The segment on the medics moved me to tears and really brought home what non-combat heroes they were. They should have all received The Congressional Medal of Honor.

Summary: Best Presentation on WWII Ever
Review: Without a doubt the greatest WWII presentation ever produced. Also, the greatest mini-series ever on TV. It rates the highest because of the sincerity of the producers (Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg), but more so by the heroics of the extraordinary men of the 101st. Everybody in the free world owes them a debt of gratitude.

Summary: Band of Brothers - Best thing on Cable in 2001
Review: This time Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks married themselves closely to the truth and told a story that didn't need to be repackaged by the Hollywood machine. While not perfectly accurate, the performances by the actors (especially Damian lewis and Ron Livingston), the special effects and cinematography that only $120 million can buy will not disappoint you. This 10-part series is a true gem!!!
