Summary: So What's The Deal?
Review: I'm getting confused. As an avid Simpsons fan, I am beginning to wonder when the next season is going to come out on DVD. Some have said Mya, and others have said June. Well, which one is it? Also, they just posted a picture of what the next season's box will look like. I am not sure if that means anything, and it probably doesn't. People talk about the quality about the DVD's and say they are terrible. I don't agree. Even though the menus aren't that great and the special features aren't great, what the truly needy Simpsons fan really wants is the episodes. I know I do!... What it is really about is the episodes. Thank You!

Summary: In defense of commentaries
Review: OK, there's a lot of reviews posted here that are suggesting that FOX drop the commentaries and just get the DVD's out. Although I too am a bit peeved that this set isn't out yet (season 3 was great), I'm not peeved enough to suggest doing away with the commentaries. The commentaries were the whole reason I bought the season 2 DVD's. I'd already seen the episodes a million times each, and I wanted to hear what the people who made the episodes had to say about them. And the commentaries turned out to be great.

Also note that I have so far avoided buying season one, simply because it hasn't aged as well as the episodes that would come after it. Someday I'll cave in and buy it, though, just for the sake of being complete.

Also, the Simpsons DVD's tend to be more affordable than, say, the X-Files ones. Though almost the whole of that show is out on DVD, it would take a either a very rich or very devoted fan of the show to bother to collect them all. With it's cheaper price, the Simpsons is able to attract more casual fans and not just the die hard ones. It's a good thing FOX's other DVD-released shows- including 24, Family Guy, and Fututama- have followed the Simpson's lead.

When season 3 comess out, assuming it's up to the DVD standards of season 2, it'll get 5 stars.

Summary: Great Classic Simpsons
Review: This season is almost close to the "real" Simpsons. The voices are almost 95% down pat, and the jokes are close to the middle seasons.

You get four jammed packed DVDs with an ingeniously designed case. The video is sharp and detailed as a knife, and the audio is Dolby digital with bone splittin bass. It's full screen and you can select English, French or Spanish audio (not to mention English or Spanish subtitles). Nothing is cut or stripped. This is a MUST BUY for all Simpsons fans!!!

Summary: This is ridiculous
Review: Yes, as it appears the rumors are true. The DVD is being pushed back to JUNE. This has got to stop. I'm in high school, and I'm going to be in my mid 20's before we get to season 10. What are they doing wrong here? For originally planning to release a few per year and then ending up with an 11 month gap between season 1 and 2, something is seriously out of whack. I guess I can wait a little longer, as long as the quality is better than the first two seasons (I really don't appreciate having to press "play" 3 times before I get to the menu), but I didn't expect this long a wait. This season blows the first two out of the water, we can all agree on that. But come on. I would have given this DVD a 5 star if it had just kept the release date the same, but now it's four (And considering that all I can base this on is the quality of the first 2, that's very generous). Nonetheless, I have great expectations of the DVD- One of those expectations is for it to be released before Christmas. And don't think I'm just blasting the DVD's for the sake of blasting. I LOVE the simpsons. I think it is indeed one of the greatest shows of all time, well worthy of the #8 position on TV Guide's best shows of all time list. Some call me obsessed, but I know substandard when I see it. Amen for The Simpsons, but pray for a better DVD- and a quicker release date.

Summary: COME ON FOX!
Review: So...rumor has it this DVD is now delayed until....JUNE. Yes, a DVD that initially was supposed to be out at CHRISTMAS 2002 is now pushed back AGAIN. Why is this taking so long? Why is freakin Malcom in the Middle already on DVD and a show that aired 10 years ago isn't yet!?!? Nobody cares about the commentary, we just want complete, high quality, FUNNY Simpsons episodes on DVD...IN FORMAT FOR THE US MARKET! Why are all the releases being made in the UK and Germany??
FOX STINKS!

Summary: Do we really need all this commentary?
Review: Essentially we should be going on Season 6 or 7, with this production schedule it's one a year for another 10 yrs or so. Skip the commentary, I could careless to hear old jokes, whistling and dumb songs. I just want the episodes. Let's get the show on the move here, before another video format hits the streets.

Summary: 5 stars for the show. 0 stars for FOX DVD
Review: X Files is on season 6 and 7 coming on the way. Buffy is on season 3. Why do these comes out so much faster then the simpsons? Well for one they don't put commentary on every episode, do we really need to hear them laughing at old jokes they wrote? Half the time they just comment on whats on screen and whens the first time characters appeared. Please FOX, if th commentarys are what is delaying these box sets then drop them. Their not worth it. Are you really gonna do commentarys for EVERY episode for all 14 seasons? Come on. Do like one or two and stop. Just get these out in good quality and fast fast fast. Other countries have alot more then we do, which is dumb because we made this show popular and we should get it at the same time.
Simpson fans are getting the short end of the stick.

Summary: Lets go already
Review: It has been three years since the first season dvd began to sell, and it is now time to start to sell season three. The anticipataion is killing this Simpson fan. I mean this is the perfect time to announce the sale date, with all of the media attention they are attracting with three hundreth episode. Simpson fans are waiting, infact one of my person favoites is on this season, "The last Temptation of Homer," with Michelle Phiffer as "Mindy", and Werner Klemperer as "Col. Klink." This is an classic season and it needs to come out soon.

Review: I agree with a previous complaint... That having to press the enter key three times each time a dvd cues up has got to go in the new seasons!
