Review: I anjoyed the movie but at times found myself on the end of my seat. The graphics were wonderful!! Scully and Mulder added a lot to the film and played their characters well. I thought it was an exellent movie which would be enjoyed by a group of friends.

Review: Well here's a cinematic triumph: Mulder gets to say "shit", and wow, there's some real cool special effects. Beyond these two gigantic leaps in the film industry, the movie reels off like a 90 minute episode. At least with commercials we could have stepped out to eat something. Scully, as usual, looks great.

Summary: review from a not long x file fan
Review: I first started watching the X-files in May of '98 after I bought one of the movies out of curiousity. Since then I have become addicted to the show, and I am now the proud owner of the new movie. This movie was definately the best movie of the summer!!! I especially enjoyed the aspects of the ever-changing relationship between Mulder and Scully. I think it's great that Chris Carter has developed such a strong (platonic) relationship between the characters. It's a lot more refreshing than all of those other shows where the male-female relationships are based on sex. Anyway, the graphics were awesome, the stunts were magnificant, and the characters were played with an intensity that is lacking in other films. (And hats off to David and Gillian for pulling off that bee-dome scene!) Long review short, I recommend this movie to anyone, whether you are an avid watcher or not. It was a great time for the fans, and for most of the non-fans, one of the coolest stories of the summer!!!!!

Summary: Borderline Mediocrity
Review: As an avide X-phile myself, I anxiously awaited the release of the first feature film. It did not have a particularly thrilling plot, nor did it surpass some of the more finely tuned episodes of the show (ie: Home or the one with the guy who could see the way people died. I don't remember the episode's name). On the whole, it was an enjoyable flick, with excellent camera work and performances by the actors. The characters are what keep me watching week after week, and if you are not watching these two fine actors, you are missing out. Tune in Sunday evenings for a more accurate representation of the entire series and its excellent writing (complements of Glen and Morgan, as well as, Carter). The movie didn't do it justice.

Summary: just a little too much, and yet not enough.
Review: First of all, I did like this movie. I can't really give specific reasons why. Too little snappy dialogue? Yes. Too much revealed for one movie? Yes. And yet, I still loved it. The truly interesting part lies not in what happens, what is said, and what it revealed. It lies in the growing relationship (friendship at that--it's beautiful) of Scully and Mulder. Okay, enough girly stuff. The movie should have been two great episodes, one focusing on Martin Landau, the other focusing on the trek to Antartica. Altogether, I applaud Chris Carter, David Duchovny, and Gillian Anderson, and while the movie wasn't the best I've ever seen, it certainly did set them up for an incredible season six.

Summary: Good stand alone plot, left some issues out though
Review: The X-Files movie is a good stand alone feature. One does not need to be an X-File fanatic, such as myself, to understand the plot. Although the movie left out some important issues that were raised in the season finaly and through-out the whole series, it did do a nice job bridging the gap between seasons to some extent. Unfortunately it did give some concrete evidence to Moulder's theories. theories that being egnimatic helped fuel the plot and concept of the show. Over all I felt it was a good movie that kept your interest.

Review: From a non-viewer of the weekly serious, I found this movie easy to follow and extremely entertaining! The movie kept me on my seat too, and I will have to admit made me jump a few times. This is a get me if I have ever seen one. The only problem, where is the DVD?

Summary: One for everybody
Review: This movie was just all-around good. It had plenty of excitement for the action buffs, lots of sci-fi stuff (of course) for people who like that, it was a nice complement to the show for loyal X-Philes, and it is easily understood by those who have never seen the series. I really only give it 4 1/2 stars because of the near-kiss scene. That piece of garbage totally caters to the ratings and lowers the standards of an excellent show.
