Summary: Every Simpsons Collector Needs This!
Review: If you are like me, you already have the first three seasons on DVD and you are waiting for the rest of the seasons to be released. Well, the fourth season would be a great start to an expansion, and I highly suggest that you order this product. Just like all of the the other seasons, you are in for some great laughs.

Summary: The Season of Conan O' Brien
Review: One big reason to purchase season four of The Simpsons is the contributions of comic genius Conan O' Brien. Conan produced, as well as wrote several episodes (including the classic monorail episode). AND rumor has it that Conan will lend his commentary to several of the episodes. This has not been officially confirmed at the time of my writing this, but it's a good possibility.
If you're a Conan fan, this is the season for you!!

Summary: Conan O'Brien
Review: This just in! Conan O'Brien, who wrote MANY episodes from season 4 (including the highlarious Monorail episode) has recorded commentaries for this DVD set.

Just one more great reason to purchase this dvd set

Summary: This is untouchable humor
Review: This season of the Simpsons finds the writing and the voices coming together so powerfully and so completely that it took years of watching them before I laughed at all the jokes. Laugh at one joke, miss the next three jokes. Catch those jokes a year later. Never, ever expect TV to do this again.

Summary: I want more - Season 4!
Review: >
As some others have already said, Season 4 of The Simpsons one of the strongest full seasons that the entire series has produced.
"Lisa's First Word" & "I Love Lisa" are comedy masterpieces that deftly walk the line between hilarious and heartwarmingly sweet. This DVD shows a period when The Simpsons were hysterically funny, smart, satirical and could tug at your heart too. Not many shows in tv history (animated or not) have been able to pull off such a feat. If you wanted to make a case to your friends on why The Simpsons is the greatest television show ever, let them watch the episodes of Season 4.

So why is it taking so long to put these episodes on DVD? The rumor is that the commentaries are slowing down the process. How can that be possible? Has anyone listened to the commentaries?

Don't get me wrong, I love listening to the musings of the Simpsons staff (they are obviously smart and funny people), but it's also obvious that they are not preparing for these commentaries. Most of the time, they admit they haven't seen these episodes in YEARS, and at times remember very little about them! I find that somewhat shameful, and perhaps explains why the more recent episodes are so incoherent and many times repeat things that the characters have already done. Perhaps re-viewing these old episodes will remind them what it is that makes this show so wonderful.

Anyway... I really love The Simpsons, and I can't wait to put Season 4 on my DVD shelf - right next to Seasons 1-3.

Season 4 - I choo- choo- choose you!

Summary: Fire the slow people in production
Review: Whats up FOX. Get with the program. Stop wasting time, and do your job. I am with the rest of the loyal Simpsons fans that are waiting for you to stop procrastanting and make these seasons faster. I would like to collect the seasons before I am 60 years old. This is very bad business on your part. I was happy to see the Simpsons come out on DVD. I did not understand why it took them so long but now I understand. Get off your butts and do your job. Which if you don't know is to make coustomers happy. I hope someone sends all these e-mails to Fox so that maybe they will get a life and work.

Summary: Simpsons Hit their Stride
Review: By the fourth season, the writers had honed their humor, and the animators had perfected their drawings. This is when the greatest TV show of all time started pumping out the greatest episodes off all time. And at this time the characters had not yet become the trite, hollow shells that they have come to today. Homer was still a bumbling father, and Bart was still a misbehaving class clown, compared to the flat, nonsensical versions of their characters today. These are the best seasons the show had to offer coming up, and I am greatly looking forward to them.

Summary: D'OH! WHERE IS SEASON 4???
Review: I agree with everyone on here that it's taking TOO LONG for these to come out! It's ridiculous! FOX has released 7 or 8 seasons of the X-Files already! I personally could do without the commentary. It's usually just Groening and some of the writers laughing along to the show. It's cool and everything, but if that's what's holding it up (according to snpp.com, it is) I'd rather just get the DVD's sooner. In the words of Milhouse: "I'm freaking out!"
