Summary: Why do people hate this show?
Review: *Sigh* I suppose those Khan (Sr. or Jr.) episodes have a tendency to grate. Some of the writing, though sly and wry, may be a little too close to home; some references obscure and situations pat. But, KOTH is still the overall best of the FOX animated series. I haven't kept track of the Simpsons since 'You Only Move Twice'. Its scatterbrained heir, Family Guy, is snappy and refreshing, but unrefined and heartless. Futurama? Despite having the same finely pitched humour, it has several one-dimensional or uninteresting characters (Leela, rasta guy and cantonese girl) who could not carry an episode on their own (a hallmark of sitcom competence) and trades the keen sociological observations of KOTH for scientific finesse and outerspacey dazzle. Those who criticize KOTH seem to be of the 'it's yucky and boring' ilk and will hopefully outgrow their youthful pretensions and learn to appreciate this deft rendering of an adult world they will have to confront someday.

Review: Best:1) The Hill family, their neighbors and rivals are back with more normal-family hilarity. People who either love or hate the "Simpsons" often like this series for different reasons.
2) There are a decent amount of behind-the-scenes shows. Worst: 1) There aren't any single episodes that are as hilarious as the first few of season 1.
2) They spent a lot of time establishing relationships between characters that sometimes detracted from the overall humor.
3) The character commentary tracks are (still) annoying and should have been replaced with people talking normally. Recommendation: If you liked season 1, you'll definitely want to get this one too. There's a full 22 episodes and more features in this second season.

Review: Haha... sorry, I just have to knock the last review off the top. That was one of the stupidest things I've ever read, and I've read Kafka. God damn. =D Anyway, point is, if you haven't seen this show, you should probably catch it on TV or download some episodes (god forbid) before you buy it. If you like what you see, spend money on it. It's that simple. As for me? I love King of the Hill. I think it's hilarious.

Summary: I tell you what. .....
Review: Hank Hill is the great American father, husband, and employee. He has his set of morales and rules and it's only black and white in Hank Hill's world. If only everybody was more like good old Hank this would be a better world.
So help yourself to a heaping helping of King of the Hill and see life through the eyes of the residents of Arlen, Texas. You got some great episodes here like where Hank defends Halloween. That is a favorite of mine. If only these Christian fundamentalists would realize that Christmas and Easter celebrations are about as Pagan as Halloween itself.
In season two the characters develop a little more and Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill are just as loved and needed in the show as the Hills themselves.
Probably one of the best all-time episodes is here inthis season when Bill gets engaged to Luanne's mamma. She reminds me so much of my ex-wife it's downright scary, but to watch it in cartoon form is hilarious.
We also are introduced to the new family on the block, the Khans. This gives us all kinds of material to playwith as a family from Asia moves in.
So fire up the grill (but only with propane!), crack open a beer, and watch the good times roll. Who can resist the sound of that beer cracking open and the rambling, infectious theme song. I tell you what, if you need a cartoon that's funny, witty, and smart, then get yourself some King of the Hill.
And don't worry, Cotton Hill is as ornery as ever.

Summary: So great! Where is Season 3???
Review: King of the Hill is like the more intelligent, mature and down at heel cousin to The Simpsons. The characters and comedy are not loud and in-your-face, stories develop at their own leisurely pace and it's also far closer to reality than Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin. Henry 'Hank' Hill is a man with no pretensions or ideas above his station with simple morals and values. He may be old-fashioned and easily embarrassed but it's easier to identify with him than either of the two aforementioned characters. His pals are the craziest bunch of oddballs. Boomhauer with his unintelligible speech, Bill Dauterive, the lonely army barber with a runaway wife and (my fave character) Dale Gribble, the exterminator so cowardly he'll runaway from even the slightest confrontation and so paranoid and full of conspiracy theories he can't even realize his wife's blatant affair not right under his nose but punching him in the face. Though Brittany Murphy is an absolute star as Luanne. A sweet but lost girl with the nicest, softest voice in the world. Watching her interact with Bobby, Hank's underdeveloped and easily distracted son, is brilliant. This box set features all 22 episodes from Season 2 (ending in a great cliffhanger!) with LOADS of extras and commentaries. These box sets put The Simpsons DVDs to shame with extras that are actually interesting. I want Season 3 right now!!! The insert inside the box claims it came out this Spring but it's been delayed for music licensing reasons. But I cannot wait any longer! All 22 episodes are presented in 1.33:1 Full Frame with above average sounding Dolby 2.0 sound.

Review: King of the Hill is one of the best T.V. shows around. It is hilarious yet intelligent with unforgettable and very believable characters (who doesn't know someone like the government-hating, paranoid Dale or the self-aggrandizing Peggy?). Like the first DVD set, Season 2 if compiled with a lot of professionalism and care. The extras on these DVDs are very unique and creative. My favorites are the deleted and extended scenes. There is commentary on at least one episode per disc by the characters or the creators that are entertaining and interesting, although the character commentaries are better on the first season disc set. The designers of this set also give the viewer an inside look at how animated T.V. shows are made through the "Animation Evolution" featurette which has many options. Other extras include The Arlen School of Drawing tutorial, music inspired by the Hills, and book excerpts from "The Boy Ain't Right." Season Two has 22 episodes which include the following: (1) How to Fire a Rifle Without Really Trying: Bobby discovers he excels at shooting but Hank's traumatic childhood may prevent them from participating in the father-son funshoot; (2) Texas City Twister: One of my favorites. Hank tries to save Peggy and Luanne from a twister headed for the Shiny Pines trailer park; (3) The Arrowhead: Peggy is intrigued by an archeologist but Hank is suspicious; (4) Hilloween: A fanatic church member tries to cancel Halloween in Arlen; (5) Jumpin' Crack Bass: Hank finds a cool new fishing "bait"; (6) Husky Bobby: Another favorite. Summary: King Of The Hill RULES!!!!!
Review: King of the hill season 2, Has the show in full swing. I loved the first season, but this season is far superior. Like most animated TV shows the first series is realy just an introduction to the characters, the creators are still figuring out what works/whats funny, and what direction they should take. In season 2, The comedy is in full swing, and the stories are better/more fun. The DVD set, like the first series, is packed with features, my fav being the character commentaries. Dare I say that this show is far superior to Simpsons? well Im starting to think so.
