Summary: The Black Adder series
Review: I have watched this series many times over and each time I watch an episode I am still amused. The whole cast is brilliant and the actors change their roles from series to series. The two main actors, Rowan Atkinson and Tim Robinson carry the show, however, Patsy Berne, Stephen Fry and Miranda Richardson compliment the episodes they appear in with praiseworthy performances, as does Miriam Margolyes in her cameo roles as The Spanish Infanta and Lady White Adder. The whole supporting cast is flawless and this is British comedy at it's very best. By the way.....Black Adder and Baldrick are two East Anglian brews, so if you are ever that way have a pint pulled for you and toast this superb unforgettable series.

Review: Blackadder is one of the most original and timeless comedy acts ever made. Rowan Atkinson is probably one of the best comedians of the century. This pack which completes the whole Blackadder series spans across English history with Black adder and Baldrick;s intervention. A funny look at history and good scenario comedy. Because the stories are interesting they can be watched over and over again. Black adder the fourth is my favourite, "Good luck with those elephants", pure class!

Review: I am probably as fortunate, as well as embarassed, to admit that I do not remember when Black Adder aired in Chicago. I believe it was the first and only time, and luckily, I had the foresight to record most of the episodes on my trusty Sony Beta, still fully functional to this date.
Over and over I viewed my recordings of this semi-predictable, thought exceptional comedy, for its uniquely evolving presentation of each era; beginning with the humorously pathetic and accidental rise of The Black Vegetable to the likes of a Captian whose inventive ideas of escapism were laid to waste in the trenches of WWI. The reluctant rush of the Captain and his embarassing troops ended my enjoyment of the series shocking finale many years ago. From the first series, through the last tale of the central character, the humor of Black Adder has evolved in a way which would best be appreciated by one traveling about in an old Police Box. Alas, this was best finally realized by "Black Adder, The Complete Collector's Set." All of the episedes, including those that I missed recording, have now been presented with an exceptional transfer to DVD, and the extra features make this release... an unfortunate 4.75 out of 5. Oh, so close! Of all that was included, and meticulously added, such as Tony Robinson's presentation of "Who's Who in Black Adder," "Footnotes to History," and a few Black Adder special episodes, this almost complete set lacks THE PILOT EPISODE! I mean seriously... it was on the VHS boxed set! To shame. Granted, there is not a single commentary, which so many people, including myself greatly anticipate, but I would have gladly overlooked that for THE PILOT EPISODE! So maybe my head is so thoroughly implanted up my bum for me not to recognize the cunning plan which neglected to include THE PILOT EPISODE of this "Complete Collector's Set" in this collection, but still, dollar per laugh, this is a great collection, barring... you know what.

Summary: FUNNIEST STUFF EVER EVER EVER!!
Review: I think the title pretty much sums up my thoughts about this program. It's up there with Monty Python and Fawlty Towers.(keep in mind these reviews are just my opinion, so you can disagree if you like) Series I: THE BLACK ADDER This series kinda sucks. Rowan is funny as Prince Edmund (aka The Black Adder), but it's a totally different character and no as good as II, III, and IV. It's also really weird to see Baldrick smart. BEST EPISODE: "Born to be King." Funny and most like other series. Hard to say, though, as they are all pretty bad. WORST EPISODE: "Witchsmeller Pursuivant." Again, hard to say with series I, but this one starts getting weird towards the end. SERIES II: Blackadder II Funny, really funny, with Rowan in top form as Lord Edmund Blackadder and Miranda Richardson absolutely fabulous as Queen Elizabeth. BEST EPISODE: "Beer." Four words. Lady and Lord Whiteadder.
(have to give credit to scene where Percy invents green in "Money") WORST EPISODE: "Bells." Sorta lame jokes, the wisewoman wasn't funny at all. SERIES III: Blackadder the Third Probably the funniest, with Hugh Laurie perfect as the moronic Prince George. BEST EPISODE: "Sense and Senility." (that is the one with the actors, right?)It's really funny, the actors do a great job at being pompous, well, actors, and seeing how fast the house goes crazy without Blackadder is great. WORST EPISODE: "Nob and Nobility." There's only so far you can go with French jokes. SERIES IV: Blackadder Goes Forth The best series. Wonderful, with great anti-war sentiment throughout (especially the last one) and a definite M*A*S*H-esque feel. Plus, you get Hugh Laurie AND Tim McInnerny. BEST EPISODE: Can't decide between "Private Plane" (for Flasheart, Red Baron and 1:1 map scale joke), "Major Star" (for just being funny as funny gets) and of course, "Goodbyeee" (final scene almost made me cry). All too good. WORST EPISODE: All great, but the two weakest are probably "General Hospital" and "Corporal Punishment". IF YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN BLACKADDER,

Review: For those of you who have only seen Rowan Atkinson as Bean have missed out. He's in top form playing the sarcastic Black Adder and family. The supporting cast is one of the best group of British actor/comedians put together in one series. My parents adored it but my Grandparents turned it off after 15 mins. This series is not for the straight laced British humor fans be prepared for "adult humor". All in all a great package. Another must see for most British humor fans.

Review: Five stars, to a show whose first season was dismal? Absolutely! Omigod yes! The hysteria engendered will crack your ribs and keep you giggling for the rest of your days on earth. Just stick with it to the second season -- or start there. It's worth every second.

Summary: A Fine English Flying Fellow
Review: What makes Black Adder the most stunning of British comedies comes in season three. As the writers are "literally" running out of steam (you think), they surprise you with the following lines: "Disease and depravation are stalking the streets of London like two giant stalking things." "I see the grave opening before me like a great big hole in the ground." No other show has ever brought me to the edge of my seat like Black Adder - just to hear what strange and awful similes or metaphors will be parsed out!! Who can forget: "That's about as effective as a cat flap on an elephant house." Black Adder, to my ears, is the funniest show of all time if only for this line: "You'd laugh at a Shakespeare Comedy." Buy this, watch it, and laugh your elbow off!! (You'll get this later)

Review: Hands doww, the most funny comedy to emerge since early Monty Python! Absolutely unbeatable.
The wit and the historical accuracy and tounge-in-cheek references throughout the English (and British) history all packaged with Atkinsons genius. The guest stars and the setting (15th, 16th, 17-18th and The great war) is thought, and laugh provoking!
